I was getting a lot of early Lemonheads references (read: Creator era) out of some of his playing.
@Luke Yes, but that Creator album (their 2nd one) was much darker indie rock stuff (lots of minor chords with add7s and sus2s and 4s, but given the whole fuzz distortion treatment), look up the song 'Burying Ground' with its Black Sabbath intro for example.
If you wanted to play all the AiC stuff on one guitar... and don't mind all the feedback, lol.

To be honest, hollowbody guitars are fantastic for doom and stoner metal. They have so much natural muddiness and feedback. There's a fair amount of sludge players using hollowbody jazz guitars.

I've always wanted to see Ola jam on an acoustic, his dark melodic stuff would translate great into acoustic passages, like Opeth and alike. Metal guitarrists tend to use acoustics in surprising ways, for me at least.
I felt that way too. Actually also happened With one of my own songs. Had a sick metal riff and one day I'm playing my acoustic and start playing that riff. Ever since then the whole song became acoustic.
@@richiesguitarshanktuary6923This reminded me of the song Los by Rammstein. Even though the riff is incredibly simple it sounds so much more fun on an acoustic than it ever would on a distorted electric. The same can definitely apply to more complex or more beautiful guitar parts.

I was on the fence about getting an Acoustasonic, and they go and make a friggin Jazzmaster version.
Why? Financially it makes no sense. a piezo loaded guitar like an EC 1000 piezo, Godin xtsa or LGX-SA, or a PRS Hollowbody seems like a better use of money

@@dylanwilliams8007 they are the top brand name guitar... you pay for quality plus the brand name. Fender has earned that position over 70 years in the industry. You maybe don’t like the prices or can’t afford it but saying it’s overpriced as a whole isn’t true. The market dictates the prices and it seems there is a market that meets the demand at those prices. If it truly were overpriced they would have to lower prices or they’d go out of business and it doesn’t look like either case is going to happen anytime soon. Sorry my man but your wrong.

Actually I think it's really helpful and valuable to see musicians trying to use an equipment that they wouldn't normally go for to showcase the versatility. If you get the same kind of people to demo something, you won't get much difference between each analysis. Keep doing this kind of content, Ola!

This guitar was made to play Paper Cuts.
Best UA-cam instrument demo I've even seen! Subscribed. I ordered one of these, mainly to use for solo and duo shows where some songs want acoustic sounds and some want a little chugging. Definitely versatile for those kinds of gigs. It's not a perfect acoustic nor is it a perfect electric, but it's a LOT better than long instrument change breaks in a solo/duo set.
That feel when Fender will put 22 frets on an acoustic but not on their electric guitars
I have a 22 fret American strat, and they've made necks with 22 frets (as well as classic 21 fret) since at least the 80s.
I have a 22 fret Fender Duo-Sonic for metal cus it has a humbucker
All my fenders (strats, jazzmasters, lead II) have 22 frets. The only that doesn’t is my 57 reissue.

Damn. My favorite amps for lead tone cranked twin/deluxe reverb for lead is killer you get the hair metal/hard rock/rock lead tone. Also add compressor or OD to make it sustain and easier to play

The clean side sounds incredible. I could see someone out doing a solo gig using this. Would be great if your playlist was mostly acoustic. I used to play gigs with a Yamaha acoustic electric and would kick a pedal and play it dirty for 2 of our songs. I got so many comments. People would say “I have to see what you’re playing. You go from sweet sounding acoustic to metal on the same guitar!!” WTF??!! 🤣

Definitely not imo. The tele model looks closest to a regular acoustic, which is the look I prefer. Tele > Strat > Jazzmaster is the pecking order for Fender Acoustisonic in my book.

I love how Ola's impression of this guitar changed through out this video. Very nice demo of this new Acoustasonic. Whether people like it or not, this guitar is gonna be big. I'm personally waiting for a more affordable Player line or a CV Squier.

Last year I bought the strat version. The acoustasonic line is a really good line. Its like having 20 guitars in one with so many different voices. They are very well made and the craftsmanship is excellent. I really like mine. This guitar is versatile and best in hands of a song writer. You definitely could gig with one. They are a blast to play and very smooth in feel. If you are a metal head then it might not appeal to you being a one trick pony. But if you like to play many different styles or enjoy creating songs this is ideal as you can loop and have as many voices going without reaching for a different axe. Would it replace your metal god guitar with floating trem and lock ? Probably not. Yet, there is no denying that this guitar is great playing, incredibly versatile and beautifully constructed.

Ola: YES
Some intern overheard the lead designer going ham about only using this for acoustic stuff, and went straight to PR to pitch the idea of sending it to Ola.

I've seen these in stores and often wondered if they would chug. Very informative as ever.
Its almost like they sent you an acoustic instrument to get you to make a "will it chug" video for them.
This guitar seems to have been designed for the "one man band" performers that are occasionally seen at bars, pubs, or on the street (if that's still a thing) and have backing tracks on a laptop. The pickup sounds surprisingly good though, and all the feedback of a semi-hollow..

I gotta admit, this video has changed my mind on the acoustasonic series of guitars. Though, for 2 grand it should come with locking tuners, a roller string tree and a hard case. I’d want the tungsten finish, looks pretty sweet.
I actually dig the sound it produces. And ironically, Olas demo of this is my favorite haha 🤟
I think they are smart to send that to him. Some of us who play metal, we didn't come up with classical training or starting out with an acoustic or learning finger style. Those guitars appeal to me because they could be a way to get some nice acoustic sounds without having to fuss around with mics or deal with instruments that I find harder to play. I think these would be perfect on a lot of hard rock and metal songs that want to add some dynamics and clean or strumming parts.
