  • In my opinion, guyker they don't have quality control and they don't check their own product
    This is the only way the same product can be one is okay and the other is so horrible
    So in that case, I would buy the Duesenberg the original Europe quality

    My God, that's a gorgeous guitar! I have 14 guitars. Two of which are Les Pauls with Floyd Rose trems. My absolute favorites. Hardly ever touch the other ones anymore.

    This is strange because I have the Guyker knock off, and it works great. The spring is nice and thick and it stays in tune perfectly. I understand your complaint, it's legit. But if all it is is the spring, then it's easily fixed and your trem will work fine.

      @TheRealChrisLopez Рік тому +2

      Seems like his tuning is consistent though sharp and flat at the same point each time so it's probably just binding at the nut on that one, not an issue with the unit itself, the engineering and functionality is a direct rip off.
      Either needs to cut and lubricate the nut properly or tune the guitar so that when you give a slight pull up it's at correct pitch so that when it does bind at the nut you just pull up slightly to bring back the tuning and correct the slack that was created with the vibrato.

    Dunno for ya, but mine is actually excellent, did you added graphite to the nut and a roller saddle bridge?

    I shrugged off the playing style at first glance until I realized that was actually how he played normally. I'm impressed and equally confused 😂 so many questions, I have to wonder if that's how he learned and was comfortable playing or if it was a fun challenge that stuck one day.

    replacement springs are inexepensive... I believe Bigsby springs and Les trem strings are interchangable, and they make Bigsby springs in various heights, so you can swap in a taller spring for more tension

      Great know if you want to save 70 bucks. I would like to save 70 bucks but do not want jipped either. I suppose I could return it. Wanted just so I have trem that I can throw on a gibson style stop tail piece with out drilling anything. I'm sure that is why everyone wants to buy them. I want it for a Gretch streamliner. Semi Hollow.Spruce center block. The nice thing about them is you keep your old hardware. Want a new guitar, fine, Yo already have the trem.

    Good video. My experience is different with the Guyker though. I do have a roller bridge which helps. Also I lube the nut slots, and stretch the strings in like crazy. Not perfect but reasonable in my style which is a slight warble and no dive bombing

    The main reason that I didn't buy the Guyker was that it didn't come with 4 gold-plated washers. You need those for carved tops and arched tops!
    I paid a little more for two original OEM Les Trems on Black Friday.
    They came without the retail box, but who cares?
    I use them on my Ibanez Artist AR30BK that already has an Art Deco headstock, and on my Suzuki ES-335 replica.
    I'm pretty satisfied.
    Much cheaper than an entire Duesenberg guitar!
    Btw, I would buy a separate spring from Duesenberg or Bigsby to make that Guyker work.

    I had a similar problem with a different bridge (XGP Xtrem). Ironically I got the Guyker to replace that and it was ok. But it's exactly the same problem, the spring doesn't go back to center, there's a huge range which it binds on itself. Thought it was a problem with the design of the trem, because the spring binds on the walls of slot where it sits, but from the looks of it, it's the spring itself. The unit came with 2 springs both with the same problem!

    Ok so these trems always need a roller bridge and roller nut, i know the sites dont mention it enough, but they really need them, that said ,this is still based on 1950's technology, the only stable trem you can install on a gibson tune o matic fitted guitar is the floyd rose frx system , once properly set its solid, however: its big, ugly, expensive, and would cover over a third of that beautiful rose on your guitar, another option that would be maybe a middle ground , is the stets bar, its not as stable as the FR but it looks better and has a more classic feel even though it works completely differently from traditional trems or even a floyd rose, i hope this helps, and i hope you find something that works for you feel and sound wise 👍

    I'm almost in the market
    But I see a possible problem with this type set up
    The strings MAY BE TOUCHING the insides of the bridge. Over a short time this will cause string breakage.
    I feel that the string should come over the top of the bridge, not in the groove.
    Maybe more like the Bigsby bridge piece where you place the string eye on to a catch.

  • @AM2PMReviews
    @AM2PMReviews Рік тому +1

    that's the same problem I have with this guyker trem I just installed. The spring is so weak it can't keep tuning stability because it doesn't go back to neutral. edit: the spring has broken in after a month and it is doing better but somethimes the strings break at the base of the trem.

      You just need to reinforce the strings bottom, with some solder, also dussenberg has the same problem

    Trem systems usually fail because of improper configurations. Floating, term, roller bridge and locking tuners MINUS a gazillion string wraps on the pegs should fix the issues.

    In my opinion, someone who doesn't seem to have a very good mechanical aptitude would blame the entire system to be "Horrible" while the spring seems to be the issue. If you expect a guitar trem to behave like an automotive jack, then buy an automotive jack and bolt it on the guitar. Obviously the Guyker spring is weaker and higher than the Duesenberg spring. Without having any data of the spring compression rates and free height, you are just guessing about what is needed.

    My guess is word got out that Amazon has a les trem II copy that is half the price and is the the same. People bought them and they ran out of springs so they ordered springs from another source more than likely.
