  • Simple easy to do modification for any Les Paul style bridge. Turn a fixed bridge into a dive bomb enabled monster in 10 minutes. Don't like it simply take it off and put the original bridge back on. ( Mistake - at the end I say Les Trem 3 it's the Les Trem 2 )

    I put a les trem on one of my les pauls. It's a tribute and it had a hard time staying in tune before the les trem. Was even worse with it, which i expected, but that was the kick in the ass i needed to set it up properly. I got a decent roller bridge off amazon, and a graphite nut. I tried to work with what gibson had on there originally, but it was no use. Once i got the graphite nut on there and cut it properly, it stays in tune much, much better. I don't even use locking tuners, but I might pick some up just so I can dive bomb like you are!

    I'm not a guitarist but even I understood this. Well done, Mik. I'm looking forward to watching more of your content!

    Thanks Mik, i think you've hit the nail on the head here the combination of this bridge, roller saddles and locking tuners i think is the way to avoid tuning issues. I'm looking at getting one of these for my own custom guitar and would like to avoid rotting for a FR so this looks perfect.
    Awesome guitar to btw.

    Can You link the roller bridge? Is that low profile. I have flat top Jazzmaster and after Les Trem installation I realized that it does not stay in tune. I bought roller bridge but apparently most of roller bridges are too tall for Les Trem for flat top guitar. When I maximally lowered roller bridge action still was way too high(2mm on 12th fret). On the normal bridge I was able to adjust 1.5 mm with possibility to go lower. Did You have similar issue? I am looking for low profile roller bridge. Thx, nice presentation

    I put a Duesenberg Les Trem II on an Epiphone Les Paul Prophecy. I like it, but I'm trying to figure out a way to take a little off of the spring so that the arm sits a bit lower. Yes, I know the arm angle is adjustable, but it still sits too high for me when it's adjusted to be level or parallel with the guitar's top, and I don't want to adjust it so that it tilts downward. I've searched and cannot find a spring with the same specs but shorter, so I'm thinking about grinding off a bit of it. I wonder if anyone else has attempted this?

      You can get a Göldo(Goeldo) short spring, it's the mother company to Duesenberg.

    How does it compare to fender‘s type tremolo? Would you please do more demos of it with distortion?

    • @mikcrone
      @mikcrone  2 роки тому +6

      I would say it's better than a fender type Trem. The tuning stability is great and if you don't like it you can take it off and put the original bridge back on.

      I have one, I had to buy so much shit for it to stay in-tune like a string Butler to keep DGB in tune with high bends and tuneOmatic roller saddle for a bigsby cause the saddles were not round and string break angle felt to steep to run the stock saddle , A nut filed perfectly for tremelo and the less trim itself and nut paste... $200 Upgrades plus $50 for a tech to adjust my new nut and relief and action so wasn't worth it on a $400 Epiphone Les Paul pro even though it's smooth now, I'd much rather buy a guitar with it all set up or stick to a good set up floating strat/floyd tremelo which has a better pitch range..

      @@DF-rj2zi wow. Sorry to hear about that. I have no issues with mine as you can see in the video it stays in tune.

    Does it work on an Epiphone sg standard? Also can it do intense whammy bar tricks like divebombs etc?

    • @mikcrone
      @mikcrone  6 місяців тому +1

      Yes it would work on a epiphone SG. In the video I dive bomb. You should add a roller saddle and locking tuners to make it the best it can be.

      Hi, no I kept the nut the same. Yes you can palm mute and you can change the height and length of the arm to fit your playing.
