It is weird that the most well know “bass” line is played on a guitar 😂
Ye I know
On the open a too
guitar is better than bass!!!!!!!!!
@@CWtactical I got my 3rd electric for. My eleventh b-day 🎂🎉 I had an unbranded electric guitar and my dad got it from my uncle aka his brother and then my dad gave it to me then after I got my squire strat I gave the other one back to him but I have a two string series 10 by Bentley me and my dad are gonna try to fix it and then make it look like a frankenstrat and make it a floating trem
@@jakedeangaming1072 Ok and?
This is literally the Wonderwall of basslines...
Holy shit I got a heart 😂😂
Thank you Marty!
What’s wonderwall
@@jonnyboi2967 basically a really easy song on guitar that like every beginner ever knows and it's kind of become a meme in the guitar community :)
ohhhh thank you@@Moojingles_
You mean Another One Bites the Dust
Played on the guitar with an octave pedal. There was only two people in the White Stripes. Jack and Meg.
Yeah. I have a setting on my amp that turns the first four strings into a bass.
Not even an octave pedal. Jack White used a Whammy Pedal on the original recording.
@@khristopherkomodoensis4734 no he just down tuned his guitar
@@xjuicex7944 it was indeed a wammy petal
And its not petal it's pedal like bike pedal
"Actually that song wasn't played on the bass 🤓" lol
"NERD!!!!!!!" -Homer Simpson (lol jk)
“Their NERRRRDs”- red king
i guess i won't be needing the other 4 strings on my 5 string bass 😂 😂 😂
Another one bits the dust, most iconic bass line
Under pressure too
Base 💀
Yep yep
With an actual bass too!
I thought it was 7 nation army
This is one of the forbidden riffs to never be played
I think I heard that this was originally played on a tuned down guitar for the song
Ye it was then I imagine he used a pedal to change it for the chorus but I may be wrong
Watch it might get loud
He used an octave pedal/bass pedal
@@mjhastings4534 great movie
@@Idle_Cerberus it's embarrassing when Edge said he thought it was a bass, showed he really didn't know the band
This is a baseline that was played by Omar Rodrigues in his DeFacto band before white stripes.
That’s one way of doing it but my bass teacher taught me another
“I’m gonna fight ‘em all.”
A seven nation army couldn’t hold me back
I got a bass guitar for Christmas this video helped me learn my first thing on bass
Ngl I think this riff could be popular someday. Even just with like a simple kick drum doing 4/4 behind it.
This is the bass equivalent of stairway to heaven, you’ll get thrown out of a music store 😂😂😂
Seeing Mr. Jack White here at home next week! So excited ^_^
For those that dk 🤨
Song: Seven Nation Army
By the: White stripes
As soon as you said 12 fret i instantly recognized it😂
Wait until Davie hears this.
Dude I love your videos so much. A lot of them give me a good laugh almost every one of them give me confidence to play. Keep them comimg
The very first chord, I already knew! One of the greatest songs ever!
I’m pretty sure it was played by jack on an E standard tune in an electric guitar not bass
He used a special pedal that made it sound like a bass
He used a Harmony Archtop (those big old jazz hollow bodies with one neck pickup) tuned to Open A with a Digitech Whammy set to an octave down to make it sound like a bass.
The way i learned this it starts on string A fret 7
Queen's Another One Bites the Dust and Pink Floyd's Money are more iconic.
Yes sir
Tried this earlier after watching Marty’s vid on one string riffs. Sounded more like I was strangling a cat
Or under pressure
Seven nation army is more iconic than money
@@sound_trippinnah
Hey Marty, cool iconic short!!
Play bass for 20 years and I have never even thought of that lick as a bass line
Thanks, Marty!!!
When I read 'most iconic', my mind went to Badge.
Bites the dust
Seven nation army
Seven nations was the first bass line i learned and i never even searched any tutorials i just found the right notes
It's simplicity is it's beauty. Zen like.
The sond of the guys fingers sliding on the metal strings would make a great asmr video😂
Funnily enough, the song that convinced me to learn bass almost 10 years ago was this song. Which wasn’t played on bass. Gotta love music!
You can also play it 7a, 7a, 10a, 7a, 10e/8e, 7e
I follow u on UA-cam . Learning basics from you. I r awsome
I learned this bass line while attending a an OSU game at the show listening to it over and over. When I got home I played it low on the neck in the pocket.
ha ha, a few weeks ago "BASS" appeared on my timeline.. lol
i figured it was another one bites the dust or this lol
He got a like from the hilarious singing
There is no bass line more iconic than the one used in Rappers Delight
Another one bites the dust I’d say
this rif made the bass reborn there is no doubt ・𐃷・
and its played on guiatr
Yeah, but the best one ist "King Tubby Meets Rockers Uptown" By Augustus Pablo.
Play it on the A and D strings
If thats the most iconic bass line we're Fck'ed
You rock Marty!
Please do your research! This is a classic GUITAR riff but you can play it on the bass
You're correct, but Marty is not to be questioned.
why the fuck does my brightness go up whenever I view your shorts
I feel like Express Yourself, Come as You Are and even Sweet Child O’ Mine is more iconic than this
I think Ramble on and Come Together have the most iconic bass lines ever.
MARTY WHERES THE D,D,D WITH THE FOOT
As soon as he said twelve fret 😂
Heard it through the grapevine is up there too.
I knew it since the first note
Seven nation army by the white stripes
Song name?? It sounds SO familiar 😂
It’s easier if you play it over multiple strings starting on the 2nd fret on D string…
Another one bites the dust probably number 1
you can also play this on the d a and g strings
it was the first song i learned on bass on my own
I knew what it was by the third note
Where are you at Mr.Marty Mart it looks like you are in your mega collection vintage guitar vault ? Wow factor 100%....Roland J
Marty, you're such a character 😂
The fact I recognized it before you moved to the 15th fret 😂
This one, enter sandman and TNT fuze nicely medially like
im the bassist in my school band and we are performing this
IM SO CONFUSED
Stayin alive is a good one
I believe Money is way more iconic or Another one bites the Dust. 7 nation army doesn’t even consist of a bass 😂
Seven nation army is way more popular and iconic than money tbh. It’s the first riff every guitar player learns pretty much. Smoke on the water too
@@sound_trippin I do agree that I think way more people recognize 7 nation army, but we’re talking about bass riffs so 7 nation army shouldn’t even count since it doesn’t even contain a bass at all. The band that plays 7 nation army only consists of 2 band members: a singer/guitar player and a drummer
Psycho Killer
If you wanted, you could also use the different strings, the A D and G strings, with different frets. Maybe I'll make a short to explain?
I now know 3 ways to play this on bass…
One of which is completely on A alone
I knew from the first two notes 😂
Jack white played this on guitar that sounded like bass
Psycho killer by talking heads is my favorite bass line
Damn ive been playing that wrong forever! I thought it was 2, 2, on d, open g, back to 2 on d, open d, 3, 2, on a!
Yo Marty drop the bass line video for all falls down by Kanye west I know it’s an odd request but the baseline on that song has me hypnotized lol
I played this on bass but at 7th fret
I/we hate it when guitar players think they can play bass
I know another way to play it as a bass player myself
It's a tuned down guitar. When I wasn't able to tune my own guitar, I used to play this
How did jack get the tone on his guitar in the studio version of that song? Is it just eq with the lows boosted and the highs cut or is there a bass amp, settings toned down with bass boost? I must find this answer
Cuz it sounds like a bass for sure but he played it on guitar as we in the connect section all know 🤓
Ok if anyone knows the name of the full song plz let me know. 🙏🙏
Saw the title and thought 7 Nation, when you said classic I wanted it to be Money
My girl
Ohhhh I’ve been playing it 7 10 7 5 3 2 on my bass and it sounds just as good but thank you I’ll do this when I play tomorrow
Sweet emotion not being in this video is a crime
What’s the name of the music??
Wild night.
then second rif is the same thing but instead of going to 2nd fret you go to five then to 3 then to 2
marty why are you playing the bass with guitar style plucking?
SEVEN NATION ARMY IS ON GUITAR !!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Always liked this one.
I play it on the second string
What song is this from?
Another one bites the dust bass
Seven nation army is a classic
I do it on the a string and start with the 7th fret and then 10. And so on. Same pattern I just use the a string to play it
Played on the 7th fret of the A string
WINDBONE ASH
REASON-TO BELIEVE
PLEASE 😭😭😭
CAN YOU PLAY THAT I ALWAYS WANTED TO HEAR THAT FROM YOU
You realise the white stripes don’t have a basis they only have a guitarist and a drummer
There is a easier way which is 7,7,10,7,5,3,2
I’m going to Wichita
