Eildon is such a deep lake certain species prefer different areas. Big browns in the deep water and natives in the shallow bays around structure and along the banks. The shallower water would be more productive for your top water lures and deep trolling in the deeper areas cod are very active at night and more likely to come up to the surface. Cheers
Your the perfect person to ask this question. I’m thinking of getting a Daiwa PT 100H Baitcaster reel eventually would I be able to load with 50lb braid? Also what rod would best suit that reel in what weight class. I’m thinking of getting a good swimbait , surface and bigger diving lures rod i can cast big lures on but unsure what rod I could get with the capability of throwing big baits.
Outstanding presentation yet again Lubin. Years ago there used to be the odd report of monster trout caught on the troll. That would be a cool ‘by-catch’.
awesome vidieo mate keep up the good work. one day could you run through how to use the live scope in the lakes vs how it can be used in the rivers, lie the murray
G`day Lubin What are the makes of your rods and reels keep up the bloody great Videos even enjoy watching you when you go to NZ and fish with the boys of BIG ANGRY FISH
What gear ratio are those reels... Your surface retrieve looks like a burn! Almost 3 times as fast as i would normally retrieve. You've caught alot more big fish then me so obviously it works, im just curious what the theory is. Cheers
Great Video mate, do you find using the big lures scare the fish off on landing, or would it attract them thinking its food thats dropped into the water?
hey mate just a question, it seems like you fish your surface lure fast during the winter i was always told to fish them super slow, is this just a matter of preference or?
awesome bro! such a beautiful condition and markings. such special fish. all you need is one to make it feel worthwhile. and they need to live on. it angers me when people kill a cod. they should be catch and release only in my considered opinion. still waiting for a vid of you nailing bream on fly mate! anyways , i enjoyed this one
Nice production. Some logic around your retrieve speed on surface too. But I’d be happy if they banned live scope - not going to happen I know - but it’s just taking it too far. And staring at a screen half your day in those surroundings just doesn’t make sense. Free yourself from the electronics as much as possible and take your cues from what nature offers you. Going primal is the most enjoyable fishing.
You have got some of the best videos I ever watched 😊
Much appreciated mate!
Very nice fishing have fun
Heading to Lake Eildon next week..this vid has got me pumped for it. Can't wait!
Love you're work mate.
Editing, music and camera work was on point👌ripper cod too🎣
I’m not saying I have been waiting forever for this, but I have been waiting forever. Always wanted to see you fish Eildon. Great work. Thanks
Cheers mate, it’s been on the list for ages too! Was good to get back there.
Another great cod video Lubin!
Awesome stuff, Lake Eildon is a great challenging stretch of water, but the rewards are amazing.
Loved it. Excellent section of your clip sped up filmed from the other end of the boat showing you covering the water👌 sick
Great to hear you enjoy it!
Eildon is a real challenge to fish. It would be massively rewarding to get one off the surface with the tremor! 👏
Absolutely mate, can’t beat a surface bite but from the clear water of eildon just makes it that bit more rewarding!
Enjoying every minute of these videos! 👍

Love your work brother 👍

The drone shots, music and time lapse are mint lubin 👌 Grant LPL
Thanks heaps mate!

Well deserved, Lubin! Looked like one healthy specimen from idyllic surroundings.
They take a lot of work to catch, but worth it!
Awesome video mate, keepem coming, love your work. 👍
Thanks for watching mate 🤙
I'm so keen to have a crack at Eildon! Cool vid
Another great video about a month ago I guy caught 75cm brown trout on a massive snake surface lure out of eilden
Are Murray cod that hard to catch? Only 4 fish in the lake?
awesome vidieo mate keep up the good work. one day could you run through how to use the live scope in the lakes vs how it can be used in the rivers, lie the murray
Good work lubin, definitely a hard lake to fish but as you said well worth it! 🤙🏻
epic vid mate, keep up the good work 🍻
Many thanks mate!
Was this part of eildon up Jamison end? The water is so clear I’m amazed
G`day Lubin What are the makes of your rods and reels keep up the bloody great Videos even enjoy watching you when you go to NZ and fish with the boys of BIG ANGRY FISH
Thanks mate. The rod and reel is called an Okuma Komodo
@@thefullscale-fishingadvent2917 Cheers for that Lubin Keep em coming
cracking video!!! what rod were you using to flick balista tremor??????? Legend
Much appreciated! I use the Okuma Komodo 801H to throw the tremor around
When your reeling in your tapping your thumb on the reel is that to keep tension on the reel or timing how fast to reel
good video could you please tell me what the rod and reel set ups are
High speed surface luring for Murray Cod. Seems to work though!
Planning a cod trip now
you should do a big redfin video
Great stuff mate. Do u use sub fish the trem ?
Crikey mate. EVERY square inch of Eildon looks fishy to me. Well done.

I’ve learned that giving the big ones less chance to look at it makes them more angry, you also can cover a lot more water.
Cool video mate do you work all surface lures that quick on the retrieve or just the tremor? Just wondering as I always surface slow as possible
Retrieve speed in impoundments vs retrieve speed in rivers with the surface paddler?? Good, bad, otherwise??
super fast but it must work? caught alot more big fish then me....
@@MrPearce11 thanks Lubin. 👍
Great Video mate, do you find using the big lures scare the fish off on landing, or would it attract them thinking its food thats dropped into the water?
It’s 50/50 I reckon. Definitely situation depended, sometimes the splash is great but some places you need to land them a bit softer.
what braid to leader knot do you use
Awsome vid what gloves are you using?
hey mate just a question, it seems like you fish your surface lure fast during the winter i was always told to fish them super slow, is this just a matter of preference or?
Yeah absolutely, I have better success winding fast but they definitely eat it slow too

Cheers mate. One good cod a day is more than you can hope for cod fishing 😅
Keep casting lp
Awesome stuff mate. What are them gloves you are running?
Cheers man. Just snow gloves from anaconda
