    Cracking fish from big hard yards. 100's of casts, 5am Eildon freeze, no guarantees, yet you did it and pulled a big one. Loved the bit when he had you on your back on deck. Awesome. Loved this vid. Waiting for final fitout of my new boat....then Eildon here I come!

    Just about to head to Eildon for an epic kayak trip over 4 days of Cod fishing. Lubin, do you have any local tips for not losing lures? I fear I will run out of expensive lures in that timber:) Cheers

    Great vid again mate your persistence shows the way to success if we got what it takes to follow, me I’m like the fisheries dude in a t shirt but at Eildon I’m standing around a big fire. Rolling around the back of your tinny with a big cod was a classic not quite a story I could use with my misses when I go away for 2 days but an absolute classic vid. How good is Eildon, cod don’t get that big eating crickets, the waterway looks in fantastic shape and I reckon us mere mortals bait fishing under a float would do well too on the teddies & trout. Loved the adventure and loved the outcome for you mate great work for great rewards, thanks for taking us along

    Amazing 👏
    Just wondering, do you not measure fish to protect them that little bit more, because you don't want how amazing a fish is to be judged by a number, or because you just don't need to know?
    Well done again, love your work

    • @thefullscale-fishingadvent2917
      @thefullscale-fishingadvent2917  2 роки тому +2

      Much appreciated mate! I never measure them because the length is irrelevant and I’d rather get the fish back in the water quickly 🤙

    Loved the video, great "whopper". I noticed you don't seem to use the pole/ scope much, even when the big one didn't stick. Obviously you are still fishing by instinct. So why the pole? Just for bait spotting? Cheers

    • @thefullscale-fishingadvent2917
      @thefullscale-fishingadvent2917  2 роки тому +1

      Thanks mate. Because I’m from the generation of cod anglers before the pole I find it hard to just scan and not cast 🤷‍♂️

    Awesome stuff mate still searching for my first at Eildon hoping you do more down there.
    Question I notice you never measure the fish in any of your episodes is there a reason ? Cheers keep up the hard work mate 👌🏼

    • @thefullscale-fishingadvent2917
      @thefullscale-fishingadvent2917  2 роки тому +3

      Keep at it mate I’m sure something will happen. I don’t see any point in measuring anything, it’s either small, a good one or a whopper lol

    Awesome stuff Lubin, love seeing all the hard work and persistence pay off! Eildon is such a sick location, I wish I could get down there more often.
    P.S. what type of gloves do wear while casting? I've been having trouble finding a pair that are warm but also sensitive enough to cast with.

    • @thefullscale-fishingadvent2917
      @thefullscale-fishingadvent2917  2 роки тому +1

      Thanks mate. Eildon is definitely a special place that’s for sure! I use snow gloves which take a bit of getting used to casting but they keep your hands dry and warm

    Very , very nice Lubin... that is what it's all about right there. Eildon is the best place to fish for giant cod in winter, in my personal opinion. 🤠✌👍👍 bloody brilliant to see you on cod almighty 3 also,, that last one,, was f@#£ing enormous. Glen really did a major job with those big new lures. Cheers buddy. Edit: how do you work?? SERIOUSLY, how can you afford to work, and fish so,much. I just went over to Marlo for a week by myself in my boat, cost me about 1,200 just for that... (8hr drive) chasing flat head and bream. Had a bloody ripper of a time. Got not so many big ones, best bream was only 41cm, and small flatties, plenty of trevally, and those stupid puffer... but plenty of action, and alot of fun.

    Fish was out of the water for a substantial amount of time was it nessacary to have it removed out of the water if the lure could have been removed while in the water? Do better mate

    • @thefullscale-fishingadvent2917
      @thefullscale-fishingadvent2917  Рік тому

      There’s a big difference between summer and winter and you should know that. Big fish sit below the thermocline when it’s hot because the water is so much cooler. The problem is when you pull a big fish from the cool deep water and then have it sit on the hot top layer unnecessarily. I’m not trying to start a war, I just want people that catch big cods to show them the respect they deserve. If the fish was tangled as you told me and that was the problem, why not just cut the net and release the fish? Surely a fish of a lifetime like that is worth more than your landing net mesh..

    • @fishingwiththecaptain
      @fishingwiththecaptain Рік тому

      @@thefullscale-fishingadvent2917 wasn’t sitting deep. 2m down in 8m. Not always relating to the thermocline

    • @thefullscale-fishingadvent2917
      @thefullscale-fishingadvent2917  Рік тому

      •2m down compared to surface can be 10 degrees or more in still water over summer
      •keeping it in the net while you drive back to the ramp is just as bad as air time if not worse.
      •You called your family down to the ramp that takes another 10 mins - surface time is crucial
      •measured it 5 times in the dry dirt. Measure it once or put the mat in the water where you can measure it wet
