This movie still scares the absolute crap out of me. Just the thought of being aware and in pain for who knows how long until you die of starvation is horrifying.
For me it was thinking of the possibility that there could be someone psychotic enough to do stuff like that.

There was an alternate opening that was done where a woman is stranded on the side of the road due to her car breaking down and the infamous truck shows up and smashes the woman's head through her own windshield. She was the figure that stands outside of the movie theater in the pageant gown

House of Wax is a huge guilty pleasure of mine. I rewatch every few years. The whole final act is great.
It's honestly one of those movies that I could finish watching and then just watch again right after...

Hot Garbage is a little too much. It's more like a Lukewarm Hot Tub. Disappointing, but you're still in water and you can still reach your bottle of beer. 😂

Like how the fuck did Tommy Wiseau manage to waxify an entire town without any police officers noticing? The subtle shit thrown at you during the final confrontation with Wiseau. Most of the characters are written to be throwaways and Paris Hilton’s death was satisfying btw
My mom has watched this movie so many times she has caught out production errors, for example in one scene theres still arrows and markings on the ground for where the actor is supposed to walk not edited out. I never cared much for the movie but as I've got older i think its actually pretty damn decent.

The two previous movies House of Wax were also poorly written. They were farfetched movies too. The one with Vincent Price was interesting. The movie was bad because of Paris Hilton. They made the movie longs because Hilton had a tantrum. The star of the movie had to dress down and change her hair color because of Hilton. It was a fun movie to watch if you are familiar with the Vincent Price movie.
@@alisarsour8552 you've literally made that shit up. Paris Hilton only said she didn't want to wear nothing but underwear in her chase so they gave her the jacket- in the documentary it even says she was professional and good friends with Elisha. Hence Elisha featuring in Paris' music video.
The whole waxifying sequences freak me out so much and the head break thing is funny but the visual of the person covered in wax and just having a thousand yard stare is freaky

Honestly, after listening this, I thought the movie would be a huge pile of garbage, but, it wasn't too bad. I agree, it was too long, so the first 30 min are extra slow, but the rest of it isn't too bad. Worth a watch I'd say
I only remember two things from this movie
1) the gross tendon snip
2) the church twist, which
Is probably the only creepy moment that's at all clever
The tendon snip to this day- is one of the only horror movie injuries that makes me physically react. I feel it even thinking about it. 😬
The fingers being cut off through the drain is what got me 🥴

Honestly, Paris Hilton is fun in Repo! The Genetic Opera. She isn't the best actor, but I think she deserves some props for that movie

This is one of the best slasher movies I’ve seen. It’s camp, star filled, and fun. The length makes it stand out for me, the characters last longer and make you care about them but I guess that’s just me

I love this movie! I used to watch it all the time, but I haven’t seen it in a while, so I rewatched it after listening to this episode, and I still love it! BTW, this may have already been mentioned in the comments, but Dalton is the one Nick tries to get out of the “Saw”-like trap near the end, not Blake, and his head comes off because he was decapitated earlier. Nick even takes Dalton’s hat and hangs onto it to the end. Wade’s whole “death” is overly brutal though. He’s tortured for so long and, for all we know, he was still alive when the House of Wax burned down.
I definitely agree with your comment about Wade's "death" being over done. But I have heard that (not sure exactly how true it is...) excruciating pain can cause the sufferer to pass out from the pain, as well as just stop their heart all together.
Either way, I would have loved to know if he actually died before the house burnt down, or not. If not, that over done torture & death just got so much worse.

Five Across The Eyes is the absolute WORST. It’s barely a movie. It’s full of whining and crying and full of shaky cam nonsense.

This was my first ever horror movie I ever saw. And it was the movie that got me into the horror genre. And I LOVED IT. It was so amazing when I saw it and I absolutely loved every min of it. Idk how you all hated it but in my opinion, this movie was amazing and very underrated.

The entire time I watched the movie I felt the siblings were more like step siblings. Especially with that (sexual) tension you guys mention, I just pretended I didn’t hear them mention they were actual twins.

I love this movie! Carly is one the coolest Final Girl ever! And her brother Nick was a badass Final Boy! And Vicent and Bo were good and terrifying psycho killers.
I was very proud of the fact that my friend Chris and his band Stutterfly got their song "Gun In Hand" on the movie's OST. Despite the movie being bad, we'll always have that.

I actually just watched this for the first time and loved it. The practical effects alone make this impressive to watch. Funny to see how much you disliked it but fair enough, it's definitely no Hereditary or other more "elevated" horror. Still would rather rewatch this than the original Halloween personally.

I’ve gone camping a LOT; as a kid, teenager, adult, family camping at a site, hiking drunk ass camping with friends I’ve ALWAYS woken up around 7:30-8:00 AM, 10:00 AM at the latest and that’s after me and my girlfriend were drunk and we spent the night literally laughing hysterically that we were too drunk to do anything with each other and we went to bed at like 1:30 AM
When they saw the high chairs, they actually didn't see Bo's name the first time. His chair was covered by a convenient shadow until second time they show the chairs.
This episode just emphasizes how wonderfully adorable Lucy is
As much as I adore this House Of Wax remake, Im always interested in hearing differing opinions. Sometimes it shows me new perspectives & ways to think about, or things to look for when rewatching.

I was listening to this on spotify and had to pull up the video to make this comment. James mimicking the music to you-know-what brought back so many memories. I couldn't fall asleep watching comedy central or else I'd conveniently wake up as my mom was rounding the corner to make it look like something was going on.
