NO SWEARING ON MY GOOD CHRISTIAN KILL COUNTS!

Cthulhu Because Why Not they're Christian now? 😁
Whatever you say, Chibithulhu.
not sure if you mean chelsea and james or mia and john lol
I think the podcast is an excellent way for Dead Meat to cover horror movies that don't necessarily have a high kill count. Keep it up!!!
Annabelle more like trashabelle

Six days. That's how long it took to write this movie. Dauberman practically bragged about it. Maybe he should have waited to see how it was received before he did?
I guess I could fathom the situation where a studio throws a lot of money at an established writer to crank out a cash-in screenplay and doesn't want to spend time or money on rewrites or script development - perhaps Dauberman is *sardonically* bragging about it? Conversely, once a script is purchased by a studio, the screenwriter might not get any say in the direction it goes and there may have been a lot of input by unskilled writers or other production personnel. What he wrote in six days _might_ not have been what ended up onscreen, for better or worse. Cranking out a first draft screenplay in six days _is_ an accomplishment.
FWIW, one of the only big differences between the movie we got and one of the earlier drafts floating around out there was that the character played by Alfre Woodard was absent(which necessitates a different ending, natch).
I just assumed that, like you suggested, WB/NL wanted to do it quick 'n' dirty instead of developing it further.
I appreciate seeing how passionate he is about these movies when criticizing them. He truly cares for these films to succeed and it angers him when they don't. Good heart.
Darth Playz LoL both of them
if your last name is burnham that's fucking legendary
Had a dream last night in which James and Chelsea had a baby and started a family/parenting podcast that they called "Fresh Meat". That's what I get for watching Kill Counts before bed.
Well here we go again
Imagine if that actually happens in like 5 years?!? Conspiracy confirmed!
Chloe B I hope they do!
Chloe B that would be awesome
fresh meat, im gonna write that one down
I can see why James likes Chelsea so much
You simply cant dislike her. Super charming and smart gal
It's great cause you can really see how much James enjoys being in her presence, even just listening to her talk.
I'm gay and I'm super attracted to her
Mark Hosaka so if your attracted to her like as if she’s your lover then your living a double life. I’m not being mean and I have gay friends and respect their decision. I just saying
Braylon Last Name Your input on that wasn’t needed. Chelsea is great, keep the convo on that. You don’t need to judge how somebody feels or lives their life, guy.
Chelsea's explanation for the doll is correct, she is a collector and that specific doll belongs to a three doll collection, a blonde doll, a black doll and then the red head doll and the red head was really popular in its time so it's hard to find, which is why she was so receptive to having the doll
"She's old." "Well, so is Henry Kissinger" literally made me bust out laughing. Oh my god, you guys are great.
Seriously!
Guess Chelsea doesn’t want ‘nun’ of that
Me Too HA
👌👏
*SHE DON'T WANT NUN*
I'm down for a scare count. That's a great idea
Honesty the second Annabelle was amazing to me just for the ending itself. And i loved seeing it come full circle.
yeah because it led to the events of the first movie.
You guys should review the autopsy of Jane doe. Top horror at it's best and all u want to see in a thriller horror mix
That movie is so disgustingly underrated.
@@shuttertv9905 That Olwen Kelly the actress of Jane Doe lay completely still during filming apparently for hours is just mindboggling to me. I can at best lie still for a minute, if even that much.
Chelsea: Im not gonna see the nun
A certain time period later..
Ok so here were are in mexico city for the nun experience
*Damn.*
It's funny when you consider she references Bonnie Aarons twice in this video when she also mentioned that infamous Mulholland Drive scene. flash forward to them not only interviewing her on this same podcast, but having her as a guest at their wedding as well. kinda blows my mind how amazing that is
Listening to this, I just realized how convoluted this movie actually is without Creation to back it up
Literally I was like why are they so confused, and then I realized well I watched Creation before I watched Annabelle so like I understood what was going on because of Creation
After bombing my math test, this podcast is so nice to hear 👌🏻👌🏻
chichikk you failed...didnt you
Same
Maybe you should study instead
Amen.
Anthony D`Ellena wow i never thought of doing that! thank you for your help, because studying will totally cure all my learning difficulties
The camera placement of the podcast is so cool, its like your looking into the camera but your looking at each other.
That intro gets better each time I watch it including the “we love to get scared together”, also that little sam distracted me way to much, how long has it been there, it can’t have been in other podcasts?
Chris Baskott he's always there! I love Sam
Chelsea Rebecca Sam’s come to do no good
Sam just likes to hang around and make sure your still in Halloween spirt 6 months after Halloween :)
You guys should watch Annabelle: Creation, it's a better movie and it explains what Annabelle really is.
No.
yeah i watched annabelle first and then i watched annabelle creation later.
Annabelle: Creation might be the scariest movie in Conjuring universe. Just terrifying sequence after terrifying sequence.
A little detail you guys missed in the elevator scene. She frantically pressing floor 6, the door closes and opens back up, she continues to frantically press button 6, same thing happens, and then the third she presses 6 then the lights flicker and the elevator shakes. I thought it was a nice touch for the scene to have 666 part of it
My grandmother (black) collected dolls all her life. She had hundreds and hundreds of dolls. I think it's a generational thing.
"I wanna see her running around, stabbing people's knees." ily
Annabelle: Creation is kinda like Ouija 2
It's better than the first, and offers very important back story and context that's necessary for making the first movie make any sense
I love that Chelsie says she will never see the nun yet she fly's out of the country with James to see it that's great love them
James and Chelsea are relationship goals.
I have to say, LOVE when you reference Bowie
The 2nd Annabelle movie is also a prequel about how the Annabelle doll was made and leads up to the beginning of this movie where we first see the neighbors getting killed
When you watch the 2nd Annabelle, you’ll understand that annabelle the doll is a conduit for that horned black demon and the sort of actual Annabelle and the girl who killed her parents
Nobody cares about the franchise.
Passione Nero and who asked you 😁☺️
@@balabanasireti why tf do you respond to every comment that says to watch Creation? It's objectively better and explains a lot of the weird stuff in this movie.
Really a sequel should'nt be this terribly written in the first place, they should be able to stand on their own with their logic. The added little prequels & sequels are really all just a cash grab that they've been pulling out their asses & people buy into them every time.
Tho tbf you don’t even have to watch the second bc Ed and Loraine literally explain to the nurses that it Is Not a child it’s a Demon using the doll in the Very First Conjuring 😂 so I was shocked they were so confused when they both admit to liking the Conjuring 😂
"Henry Kissinger doesn't have a museum of haunted dolls" is the greatest out-of-context sentence I've ever heard.
Will the next t-shirt say “Be Good People”?
I’d suggest watching Annabelle Creation while this is freshly on your mind
Nah.
Passione Nera why are you replying to two year old comments?
Haley rose W because they dont have a ✨L I F E✨
I watched that first, it explains so much and should have been made and released first
So many people are missing out on these podcast. Great work again and keep them coming
I love you both! You have inspired me in such a positive and productive way. You inspire the novel i am writing. Thanks for being so awesome and fun you effect people more than you know ❤❤
I recommend watching Annabelle: Creation. It kind of explains everything that was going on in the movie, but the Annabelle movie itself is pointless on it's own.
Nah.
If they insist on making a grip of sequels they shouldn't have it so a crappy sequel depends on other sequels just to make sense. You wanna make great movies, especially sequels? Have something that has the balls to stand on its on if it needs to. This is just lazy writing for a cash grab
RE: Old ladies with doll collections, my grandma is Filipino and has a small collection, mostly picked up while traveling, including some truly terrible 2ft clowns.
You guys are so cute! TY for doing this!
"I didn't mean to compare you to war criminal Henry Kissinger" is literally the last thing i expected to hear on this podcast.
the way i jumped up after hearing his name
I'm so glad Chelsea had the same reaction to 'the Nun' ... I noped out pretty fast when they kept throwing the ad at me like 'please stop'
Honestly the elevator scene had me and my mate in STITCHES at the movies, we imagined the doll just on the side pressing the button every time she closed the doors just to fuck with her, people told us we were "sick" but genuinely its like when you're running for the elevator and you press the up button and the lift doors re-open for you, but like a doll doing it :P
2:09 Chelsea's face when James brings up the conjuring universe! 😅
This video is now 4 years old but it’s one of my favorites. I eat dinner watching it, i put it on to play in the background when i’m scrolling my phone, i fall asleep to it. idk why but i love it so much lol
Have you guys watched Annabelle Creation already? Because it answers all these "whats possessing the doll" questions
And in the Conjuring, yes, the medium says it is "Annabelle possessing the doll" but Lorraine also tell them that the demon tricked them to think it was a little girl, but it was an inhuman spirit all along.
In the Conjuring lore we have seen demons manipulating human spirits to deceive the victims...but it is the demons all the time.
They still bring up the fact that AC should not be needed to explain the first film. And they got annoyed with how many people told them they needed to watch AC in order to understand this one.
Love watching these while playing a chill game or something else. they make me laugh and they're so well put together.
Annabelle: Creation (The 2nd Annabelle) was definitely the best so far
I love conjuring 1&2 the most but Annabelle creation for me was scarier than all the other movies combined
My grandma has a separate living room full of dolls with a furniture that the dolls sit on.
I once stayed in a house in Florida where tje first thing you would see when opening the front door was like a choir setup of Annabelle like dolls, like ten of them just sitting there. 😐
Basilisk Bones, like the raggity Anne doll from irl or the movie one?
@@Lol-ik8xm The movie.
podcast is the most rewatchable form of dead meat
20:00 those scares are my favourite when you look all over the screen and then you see like a shadowy figure
I’m so glad you touched on the fact that the black character in this movie (of which there is only one) essentially gave her life with the power of magic to save the white couple and their child. I remember watching this movie in theaters when it came out and being so genuinely upset when it happened that I literally walked out of the theater
I'm late to the comment party, but i cannot upvote your comment enough. I'm a black woman and when I saw that ending, I almost punched my computer. I am soooo fucking sick of that trope, but this was one of the more egregious examples and a more modern horror movie that I'v seen.
@@UnboxingAlyss
Also late, but I agree. As a black woman. It's annoying in films where a black character just exists as a sacrifice for the future of the white characters. Sending a very negative message there. Reminds of of the Human Shield in *South Park the Movie.*
Except that had a very satisfying & comical twist added to it because it takes the piss out of what we're blasting Annabel for right now.
This was actually the first horror movie I ever watched in its entirey so it will always have a special place in my heart.. I just love the scene where the priest is attacked
Ben Starken Annabelle is one of the worst horror movies ever made
Dwayne Johnson In my opinion it was meh but just my opinion Annabelle creation was better
You think this was good hope you've watched classics like The Shinning, Jaws, The Thing, Alien, Polteirgeist etc you'll find them a lot better in some aspects
***SPOILERS FOR ANNABELLE AND ANNABELLE:CREATION***
Ok so to anyone who is confused about Annabelle but doesn't want to watch the movies here is an explanation. Annabelle was a girl killed in a car accident years before the movies. The parents prayed to a deity to bring their daughter back and allowed what they thought was their daughter to enter the doll, but it turned out to be the horned demon. The demon attacked the mom so the dad called the church. They blessed the doll, put scriptures in a closet and stuck the doll in there. Years later, in an act that they thought would help them repent, the parents accepted orphans and a nun into their home. Unfortunately the demon took a liking to one of the girls who was crippled from polio. The girl is eventually possessed by the demon and she kills the original parents. The demon-possessed girl attacks the other orphans but is locked in the closet while the other girls escape. A police investigation reveals that the demon-possessed girl escaped, and now the doll is just a doll since the demon is no longer inside of it. The demon girl runs away to an orphanage in Santa Monica where she coins herself the name Annabelle and gets adopted by the Higgins, who are the neighbors in Annabelle. Years later, still demon possessed Annabelle comes back, kills her parents, and commits suicide, letting her blood go back into the doll, thus returning the demon into the doll. Thus demon in the doll was created. The End.
"He doesnt have a museum of haunted dolls." Well neither does loraine warren.
Jack backerrack sick burn, bro
Would love a Scare Count series!
i don't know anyone who collects dolls, but my paternal step-granddad has a HUGE spider-man collection. as a little kid that adored spider-man, i thought it was cool as hell.
These podcasts are amazing this is a brilliant channel
The confusion of this movie reminds me of watching Prometheus that movie was way too confusing
Venom Base I hate that movie so much
chelsea’s hair is so cute
georgi i guess I agree
I think it would look better long
I swear. The Annabelle doll was just contractually obligated to be in this movie 😂
The whole scene with the basement and hitting floor 6 on the elevator three times and the stairs is the scariest sequence in any movie I've ever seen
Love this podcast. You both rock
I love that intro so much! I played it like 10 times!!!
Lil Sharkey I like it, too.
I love how close they were to the origin story around 45 minutes without having seen creation yet
Fun fact: the real life Annabelle is actually a rag doll, Not a porcelain doll. (Some people don't know this.)
derpy kitten I know why didn’t they just stick with the raggety doll some people find them scary
His name is Robert and Annabelle is just very loosley based on him
derpy kitten they mention that in the podcast
Jokeface Gaming No, Annabella is an actual doll, specifically a Raggedy Ann doll.
Jokeface Gaming Annabell is an actual doll. She's on display in the Warren Haunted Museum.
The movie "The Green Mile" is a great movie and I cry during it everytime, Micheal Clarke Duncan is such a good actor and and I love it
I just noticed the picture from the ending of The Shining behind Chelsea. That is so badass!
You guys deserve way more subs
The intro pumps me up every time
I love how we’re having like a dialogue about hand stuff LOL
19:10 when you realise Annabelle in the screen is staring at YOU
One scene I gotta give this movie credit for, was the scene on the stairs where the demon stops perfectly still whenever she turns and looks at it. That's exactly what everyone who has ever been chased up the stairs as a kid is afraid of.
I totally feel you Chelsea, I’m a cosplayer too and I need to keep my eye on my machine. I’ve caught my nails a few times I haven’t caught my finger yet -knocks on wood- I just mostly watch video podcasts as of late mostly this one or just normal podcasts or music cus yeah I can’t be looking at that stuff lol
I'm rewatching and I now know some stuff about the real Annabelle case. Higgins is a coincidence as the real case some random medium told the nursing students that the doll was haunted by a dead spirit of a little girl named Annabelle Higgins, which is why the doll was named that. The Warren's then got involved and said it was a demon in the doll and was trying to possess one of the girls. I think this movie wanted to have cake and eat it cause they make it a girl who was possessed by a demon then later k!lls herself and demon moves to the door. It doesn't work in this movie
So I totally agree with all your critiques on Evelyn's character in this movie. They truly did her dirty, and her sacrifice at the end made no sense and made for a terrible ending. However, I think the fact that Annabelle wasn't running around and moving on her own was intentional and genius. It was similar to Blair Witch in the way that we didn't see her actually move (though we did in fact see the doll of course). This kept the scarier stuff up to the viewers' imaginations, which is often scarier than what they could portray in the film. I think they did a great job with the shots of Annabelle too. I also think the whole "why is Annabelle back? I think we will just keep her now" was Annabelle temporarily puppeteering Mia as she held the possessed Annabelle doll, convincing her she wants to keep the doll in her home and in Leah's room. This didn't seem like a dumb moment, and John was already portrayed as a supportive husband, so who is he to argue with his traumatized wife wanting to keep a doll he gifted her, a rare one she has clearly wanted forever? I did not see that as a plot hole personally. As for Father Perez? I am indifferent towards him, which I suppose is not a good thing. His role was very stereotypical of a priest in a movie involving possession. He still served his purpose, though the hospital visit interaction with John was very stupid on John's part; I definitely agree with you on that. I think the people at the start and end of the movie were there to connect Annabelle to the Conjuring, and to set it up for Annabelle sequels (I just watched this movie for the first time today, so I have yet to see the sequels, but I presume they must be related). At the very least, it implies that Annabelle lives on in other people's lives. While the scares were limited, I thought it was a scarier horror movie than a lot of others. Having Annabelle never move and just look creepy in long shots reminded me of the paranormal activity scares where you are expecting and waiting for a jump scare that never comes, which is scarier than Chucky's movies in my opinion (though I am a big fan of Child's Play 1-3). Also, why do you hate the Nun so much? I haven't seen it yet and don't know where to find it right now.
There's a horror movie that almost has the same name like/as "Annabelle." It's called "Jessebelle."
When Mia unboxes Annabelle and puts her on the shelf, the other dolls around her on the shelf are a similar size/have very similar white dresses with red ribbon. I know Annabelle creations explains a lot, but it looks like she was trying to collect all the Mullins' dolls
One of my old friends Mums had creepy dolls. One was on swings and one was a clown.
This was 2014 so the Annabelle/Creepy doll hype was real
Given the backstory from Annabelle Creation idk how that thing became a collector’s item like it was locked away by a priest before it escaped
Awesome vid brooooo, good luck bro with the channel
I've always enjoyed your podcasts
Dead meat is my life I love the UA-cam channel and the podcast keep the good work guys
Always doing a great job! Lov ya guys
My mom had “the doll year” were she just collected porcelain dolls and I hated it… then she just stopped
Could you guys discuss The Witch? That would be really cool
Love the movie reviews... continue with these
I used to live in an old two family home and it was owned by this nice lady named Liz. She was renting out the bottom home and this happened in 2009, I remember because my brother had just been born, and we moved in cause it was pretty cheap. She had to move something out of my soon to be room.
It was over 100 different dolls. Some came up to my waist, others were tiny and fit in my palm... I felt so nervous to sleep in that room even when all the dolls were gone...
So many strange things happened.
My radio that was always unplugged(it never worked so I kept it out as decoration) turned on in the middle of the night.
My door would randomly open and close, but I was nowhere near an open window. My bedroom was down a hall.
So much more happened but I repressed it since some other shit went down while we were there, but those are the two I remember the most..
So the whole is the demon or ghost in the doll is answered in the beginning of the conjuring, the warrens are talking to the nurses and the nurses say that a spirit was lonely in the doll and asked them to welcome the spirit into there home and they said yes, the warrens than figure out that they are dealing with a demon and not a ghost of a girl. So i believe that Annabelle Higgins used the symbol on the wall and blood in the doll to conjure the demon, so Annabelle is dead and not a ghost but the demon uses the doll too follow the family and torment them, the demon uses the form of Annabelle Higgins to scare the wife and torment her. So I believe every paranormal event is the demon messing with the family and not a ghost. It’s kind of lame that you have to watch the conjuring for that to be completely summed up.
Drewby yeah it’s explained in Annabelle creation as the daughter died and her “spirit” asked to possess the doll but it was actually a demon and not the little girl who possessed the doll
ZlevelUp TimeZ The demon didn’t actually “posses” the doll because Demons can’t posses things they can only posses humans. The demon used the doll as a “Conduit” which meant the Demon would be moving the doll around and making it seem like the doll is possessed just so it can distract the humans and he can posses them.
Larebear57 ! Exactly, that’s why when the doll “moves” it shows the demon holding it, Annabelle Higgins used her family to conjure the Demon, also does anyone know the true story? I believe the nurses part and moving around causing mischief and being a conduit for a demon is the “true” story, but do the warrens have any idea how the raggedy Ann doll happened to become a conduit? Because I know the cult murders in this movie are not real and are taken from the Manson murders.
Isn't it a pretty standard trope in a lot of horror movies that during a seance or use of an Ouija board that a demon or such pretends to be someone else and the protags don't find out till later or shit starts going down? Which is a good explanation to why the girls at the end think it's Annabelle Higgins, cause the psychic/spiritualist person they went to was also tricked? I mean, yes, the Conjuring totally show this same thing going down, but I'm pretty sure similar things have gone down in older films than this.
I'm pretty sure the nurses are a reference to the true story about Annabelle!
two years late but i fully support the scare count idea
I’ve never seen the first movie, but Annabelle Creation was a laugh a minute romp
Noah's reviews and movies
Im not sure. I hate David F .Sandberg as a director (Lights out is legit one of the worst movies I’ve ever seen but I won’t bore you with that rant) but I can’t deny that there were some redeeming qualities to AC (good young cast) but my whole cinema was in hysterics
@@user-fz9vk4js5l lights out was so bad
i realized how much James stopped cursing in his newer videos
I love watching these after all the others came out. Now we know.
SPOILERS
Real Annabelle's parents made a deal with a demon accidentally to see their daughter who died in a car accident. The deal was for their daughters spirit to inhabit a handmade doll.
They found out it was a demon. And locked it away.
But the nub orphan school for girls came. And one girl let the Annabelle doll lose. Where the girl became possessed. Making another human Annabelle. Who was later adopted by the Sharon's who were killed in THIS Annabelle. The Manson killer who says "I like your dolls" is the possessed kid Annabelle. Which is why her blood then possessed that doll. Lots of body transitions.
Dude, you should use your pod cast intro for your kill counts, I fricken love your pod cast intro!
For some reason, until now, i thought Annabelle was about the couple in the apartment, and Annabelle Creation was the couple in the house. But i was super wrong because after watching less than 30 mins of this i had to look Annabelle Creation and realize ive never seen it!
And James... doing the scare count is actualy a great idea... cause I kinda want to se a kill count for the Conjuring, but it is not a slasher...
Favorite channel this week...👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Me, my mom, and my grandma are all currently living in the same house and it has dolls in every damn corner. I literally have a three foot tall porcelain clown sitting next to my TV. I also never get any sleep.
Chelsea's face at 27:55 is my entire reaction to this film
WOAH intro and I am already so excited WOAH
You guys should do a podcast of cults in Pasadena! Love your channel!
That Scare Count idea sounds like a great idea actually
i really do have to recommend you to watch the prequel because it helps understand the origin of the demon and the girls story all by herself. it’s actually a lot better than the first one.
The nun was SO terrifying in the conjuring 2
Yay! These podcasts alway make me smile 🤓
