No, he was not "versatile" at all. in fact, he was idiosyncratic, which means he played in a unique style. "Versatile" is the opposite of what he was. Lots of ignorance on UA-cam.
At 71 it's inevitable that the musician who scored my youth should leave; the only light is there legacy in music. There are so many Jeff Beck notes but these are some of his finest . Another piece of my musical youth is gone. Peace love and blessings to his family. RIP Jeff Beck, the greatest guitarist of his generation.

We were so blessed to get to enjoy this man's jaw dropping talent and tenacity FOR 78 YEARS MAN!!!!, Jeff showed EVERYONE to not sell out...not accept "good enough" if you really want great art. Beck is eternal now. Thanks Jeff we love the hell outta ya brother!
I started playing guitar in the mid 80s and still play. The older I get the better Jeff sounds. His amazing control, subtle dynamics and vibrato just amaze me more and more every year.
I was fortunate enough to be at the Bowl that night for this show. I have seen over 100 shows at the Bowl. Simply the best...hands down! Thank you Jeff! May you RIP.
The man could fill the Hollywood Bowl for nights on end. He also chose to come to a small town called Basel, actually an even smaller place called "Pratteln" in Switzerland, and play at the "Z7" in 2018. Only die-hard fans came there. I was one of them. And witnessed an elation of rock music. Jeff was fire, sound and perfection. I am sooooo glad to have seen him. THE MAN!
There will never be anyone like Jeff.. Total one off..An absolute Master at his craft..The way he gets that guitar to sing is just mind-blowing, He could put 90% of fellow guitarists to shame with one single note.. His dynamic approach will never be replicated..RIP Jeff
You should hear him make the guitar sing when he plays "How High is the Moon" with vocals by Imelda May. Les Paul would be in shock it is so well done.
Wonderful guitarist !!! one of the most gifted and original ... his guitar solos are cries of joy and pain of rare intensity ... A little less adored than other famous guitar heroes, but excellent everywhere ... He goes a lot miss us !
JEFF really will be missed. Saw him a little over 3 months ago 3 shows and I wish I could have seen more. 40-50 Jeff beck shows since 1971 not bragging just telling you that if you did not see him you missed out and I wish everyone could have seen the man live. Jeff was a gentleman and a true innovator on the guitar. Video is not the same as live. We will miss you Jeff and the notes you played will never be played the same again..
Jeff Beck in guitar hero heaven RIP I had the immense chance to see him once in concert, and especially to have discovered his music, his unique playing. Jeff Beck you were by far my favorite living guitarist. You will always be by my side. RIP ❤😭❤😭❤
Those of us who were aspiring guitar players in the 1960s can take the long view and see there were the innovators, like Hendrix and Beck, and then there were the journeymen--steady, dependable, still playing the same thing 50 years later, just a little slower. As gorgeous and exiting as Jeff Beck's playing was, it's equally amazing that he never lost his edge or his creativity. That's an old man on that stage!
What an epic band there must be in Heaven right now featuring Jeff Beck, Jimi Hendrix, George Harrison, John Lennon, Chuck Berry, Elvis, Stevie Ray Vaughn, Eddie Van Halen and many more legends!
