This was absolutely the most thorough & clear explanation about hip osteoarthritis. Even my doctor and physical therapists did not explain the situation anywhere near the way you did. I understand now why the glutes strengthening exercises are so important and why age is not really a factor. Thank you so much for this!
My hips are beginning to go I think especially the right one. But I'm already doing knee exercises and strengthening my glutes thanks to Dr D and am having huge relief and a very noticeable improvement. I recently turned 60 ! Since I was about 50 every time I go to my doc I get the 'wear and tear due to age' diagnosis which ive never really agreed with. I'm also not interested in popping pills forever more. That's why I love this channel and Dr D's approach. It's music to my ears folks 🙂
Thank you Miriam!!! We're soooooo happy that you've been getting relief in your knees! Hopefully your hips will begin to improve now too! Cheers to great knee health!
Thank you I had hard time walking until I watched your exercise video's It really improved my hip, allowing me to walk with less pain Thank you for your wisdom

I'm so grateful to you Dr D for popping up on my screen when searching for hip osteoarthritis exercises. I'm 64 and got diagnosed with HO. I've only been doing the 4 exercises for 2 days to start. I'm already feeling more mobile in my hip area. Thank you 🥰
I’m 44 with torn labrum and hip arthritis that flared up when I increased hiking a couple of weeks ago. Made worse by a cortisone shot. I’ve been seeing a chiropractor for pelvis adjustments, but it always goes back within a few weeks. I was told a replacement is my only choice and I’ve been getting weaker and feeling out of options. I feel hopeful for the first time in a while and started the glute exercises you suggested. Thank you for your detailed explanations - they really help!
It’s nice to know there are other younger women going through this! I just turned 40! We are too young for this right?! I was diagnosed with the same thing and told the same thing in January! And I have felt so down and hard on myself since finding out!
Hi heather just read your post I suffer with exact same problem I have been doing prp and injections amniotic stem cell 3 years later with great results costly out of pocket expenses 😢 feel better😊 best of luck
Man, I was thinking because I had pain in my groin about mid leg in groin was something else, but I guess not! Thanks for explaining it. I’ve been looking on UA-cam to figure out what it might be and found you. Thank you.
I have bone on bone arthritis snd, am awaiting a hip replacement . Certainly wish I’d found this series of videos before. Absolutely brilliant and, so well and, thoroughly explained!!
All of the above. Interesting how I didn’t see this coming for years and years. Clicking while walks and stiff pain in the groin. At one point I thought I had a torn adductor too. That sent me to the doctor and x-ray. Have been watching and doing the glute exercises for only a couple days. I may be kidding myself but I think feel improvement already.
Thats great to Louann!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Keep up the glute exercises. It is along road of strengthening, but we believe in you. So keeping up with your glute program is key. It takes 6-8 weeks for healthy muscle to get stronger. I love your topics I do have hip Osteoporosis in my left foot but by the Grace of God I am doing my best and flowering you about hip Arthritis has to avoid hip surgery
Hey Laverne! Sorry to hear about your foot osteoporosis and hip arthritis :-( We hope you are benefitting from our videos so far! Best of luck to you in improving your health overall!
I just came across your videos! I just turned 40 in August, but was diagnosed with hip osteoarthritis in January! Doc told me the only way to fix it would be a total hip replacement in the next 10 years +-! I was devastated! I hoping to prevent that, but some days are much harder than others! I’m really liking your videos!
Hey RC, we are so glad that you found us and are liking our videos! We would love to help you avoid a hip replacement! I have bone on bone hip joint. I refused replacement and am trying to deal with it on my own, for a few years also because of the Covid I do not want to get. i just found your videos. I hope to learn more to get better. I no longer have pain but walk with two canes to keep the weight off my hips. I can stand now but was not able to stand much till last year. Thank you so much for doing these videos. It gives us hope.
Thanks so much! I have ridden horses for years and it constantly works my thighs and not my backside. You have described my symptoms and have given me a path forward. I really appreciate you sharing this! Off to work on my butt :)
Hi Dr. D. So glad I found your site and wish I lived in El Paso! Your videos are so thorough and easy to understand. I especially am liking your series on Hip Arthritis. Back in 2017 I had an anterior hip replacement on my left hip. The surgeon did tell me I would eventually need the right hip replaced. For almost 6 months now I have gradually been having hip pain on the right hip which has now gotten to the point of a very similar pain that I experienced when my left hip was a problem. I am having all of the symptoms that you outline except for the cracking sounds. I am at the crossroad of do I get the right hip replaced or do I try a more holistic approach. I will start your recommended exercises...I was doing almost every exercise that you had recommended NOT to do...no wonder my pain kept getting worse. Thank You for all your advice!
Hey @gdeck1299, we're so glad you've been benefitting from our hip arthritis videos. It's good that you don't have the cracking sounds, that means it's not as severe yet. We hope you can start to feel better in your right hip so you can avoid surgery and keep your left hip healthy!!!

@@epmanualphysicaltherapy Just what I need, as I think I can live with, and improve upon my situation. I get the ratcheting, but with no associated pain. And I can walk for miles. So I feel actually lucky. I attribute this problem I have to 40 years of jogging. So for the sake of a healthy heart, I have damaged my hips. Thank you again. Again, you put it all in this video and delivered it effortlessly.
Thanks so much, I have already had both hips replaced, I regret not having come across your videos before; you are amazing, your explainations are clear and I will recommend them to others that may be facing hip difficulties!
Hello! Loving your videos. I am 60yrs old and have been diagnosed with bone on bone hip arthritis but your videos are helping greatly. My x-ray confirmed this and my Consultant also used the term 'edge loading'?
I wish you were in East Texas!! There is no doctor here that gets it and I feel like I have been treated wrong for years after the logic you present in your videos. My issues began in 2010 with low back issues, then back surgery, then a psoratic arthritis diagnosis in 2015 and then I fell twice and hip pain, bursitis & now osteoarthritis. I’m 58 and some days I can barely walk. I have no range of motion in my right hip at all.

Thank you El Paso Manual PT!! I'm 53 and was diagnosed with severe hip OA and need a replacement. Although I will have surgery at some point, I am an avid walker (thanks to my dog!) and yoga enthusiast. I appreciate the glute strengthening techniques (similar to what my local PT provided!) and tips in the other video. Very useful tips in ALL the hip videos and THANK YOU!!!

I have all of these symptoms. They have happened gradually over many years. In the last year it accelerated to the point where the pain is now constant. I rate my pain as resting at 2 to peaking at 8. I was diagnosed bone on bone after Xrays in the fall. I'm a carpenter with a decade to go before retirement and I want the replacements so I can function. I have always been active in weight training, snowboarding, and back country canoe camping. I was even once a semi professional skydiver. I'm now at the point where even though my job is less demanding as a senior level employee (they are trying to accommodate me at work) I'm barely making it through each day. My morning workout has become a morning physio routine and my evenings are spent repositioning a heating pad around my pelvis lower back and quads. My situation is different in the sense that I'm Canadian and surgery will cost me nothing so my US comrades have my sympathy. My biggest gripe is with COVID everything has ground to a halt. I'm told that my first surgery would normally be 4 months after approval and is now possibly 2 years. Please, everyone get vaccinated, be careful around others. Don't get sick. Be aware that unnecessary patients in hospitals are slowing down treatments for everything including life threatening issues. Do your part!
Don’t know if it will help me, but after watching I feel happy. Because I am 30 to have hip problem and thought I have to do the replacement. I will come back to leave a comment
I’ll be 42 next month and a week ago I started having this problem and it hasn’t gone away. I really feel like I’m too young to have this kind of issue. Took X-rays and they confirmed it. Both hips and my back. I couldn’t even begin to tell you how this happened to me

You give so much more information than doctors do. My doctor basically told me it's nothing, but the next time I was seen by his associate and he told me that I have hip osteoarthritis and gave me a cortisone. Which did not work at all. Prp injections are still in the early stages, and because of this, insurance won't cover the prp injuction.
Doctor you are a darling the way you explain. You put in the podcasts nit only your knowledge but also you heart.Thank you. Talking about medication to suppress the pain what do you think of IV procaine with natrium hydrogenated calcium? And so stopping the depression patient may be because of mobility impairment ...Please make a podcast about it.I don't live in the USA.
Me again, with the current backlog situation and the strategic focus of our NHS UK by reducing elective procedures it will be 3-4 years before an opportunity for replacement. I need to maintain a degree of movement and pain reduction until then, thx for the hope.
Hey @staxter69, sorry to hear about the situation with the NHS :-( We hope you can get relief from our videos! In case you need it, here is a playlist of all our hip arthritis videos: “Hip Arthritis Help” ua-cam.com/play/PLJVIPiFvv1mbICbP6qlXUZwMyAJlKD1dt.html

How do you find the type of physical therapist that you referred to that wants to avoid surgery and understands about muscle imbalances? What are the questions you ask?
Hey Susan! In the US, you can find a physical therapist trained similarly to Dr. David at this website: aaompt.org/Main/Public_Resources/Find-A-Fellow/Main/Member_Resources/Find-A-Fellow.aspx?hkey=108c9a56-f793-45e4-b3ed-cefe5d871a94 Dr. David is a fellow of the American Academy of Manual Physical Therapists. His specialty is orthopedic manual physical therapy, which is the ideal specialty for helping someone avoid surgery, injections, and medications. Normal physical therapists are best trained to help people right after surgery.
Dear Dr David, firstly, wishing you a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year of good health and prosperity !!!. Thank you for your wonderful work you are helping so many people. I have diagnosed bob osteo hip, and since taking your advice about correcting movement and exercising glutes, the joint pain and clicking is much less since moving focus to glutes. Often, merely squeezing the glute can stop joint soreness. I can walk non-stop for one and a half hours. This used to make joint pain but now I get sore and stiff gluteal fascia instead. Would this indicate that the glutes need further building up?
I'm 59 and 175 lbs very active with hip arthritis ( had a xray). Is there a piece of cardio equipment I could use that would be good for my hips? I'm thinking of possibly an air bike, row machine or cross country ski machine like the old nordic track. I have exactly what you describe that the ball needs to be pulled back in the socket by strengthening the glutes. Great ( maybe life changing advice about always moving my knees back and forth when sitting. Thanks for all the great videos, I plan to watch all of them in the next few days.
Hey BWCA 1981! We're glad you are implementing our advice! Best of luck to you! As far as using a piece of cardio equipment, it depends on how you're using it. Because if you are using your glutes more on the machine, then it will likely help you. If you are using your thigh muscles like the quads and hamstrings, then it will probably make your hip arthritis worse.
My diagnose is moderate to severe right hip arthritis by x-ray, but i never feel stiffness, the pain ranges from 0 most of the time to maybe a 5 on a scale from 0-10. I stopped doing high impact exercises after the diagnoses but i had 0 pain when i did them, but i stopped doing them anyway. I don't want it to worsen so i'm doing what you're recommending in you videos about hip oa.
Hey Rick, sorry to hear about your moderate to severe right hip arthritis :( We hope these exercises are able to help eradicate your pain. Keep us updated on how you are doing!
Hi Marilyn! 🧡 Red light therapy has shown potential benefits for pain relief and tissue healing. It can offer temporary relief as it primarily targets symptoms rather than the root cause of the issue. To achieve long-term results it's important to address the underlying factors contributing to the pain. Combining therapies that target both symptoms and the root cause can offer lasting results. In case you are interested we do have additional information and exercises in a playlist we have compiled for hip arthritis help. You can check it out here: “Hip Arthritis Help” ua-cam.com/play/PLJVIPiFvv1mbICbP6qlXUZwMyAJlKD1dt.html We wish you all the best on your road to recovery!🧡
thank you for your awesome videos! I have just started watching and have learned so much. I have hip arthritis in both hips. I want to become healthier and avoid surgery. In addition to your exercises are there exercises you would recommend doing at the gym on the gym equipment that could be beneficial?
Hey Nancy! Yes, here are some weight lifting exercises that would be good to get to once you're super confident that your technique is good and your muscle imbalances are gone. You should not do these if you're having any sort of pain. “Squat Advice & Tips” ua-cam.com/play/PLJVIPiFvv1mZaJafOJxuZ2CrWTiL0qsbF.html
Hello again, I’m in my early 60’s Diagnosed with Osteoarthritis Arthritis in the hip, I ran into ur channel recently and have been binge watching. I have been sleeping better with the pillow between my legs, tried doing some of the exercises, but the stiffness is terrible. Can’t get my boots on, and yes, sitting on the toilet. Have been icing the hip and it helps, was on anti inflammatory for a few months had to stop, but need pain killers each day. I try doing my stationary bike I was a speed walker that use to work out six days a week, always on the go. Anyway I’m curious as to how to help the hip or should I get the cortisone shot to avoid the surgery ? My brothers and father had the same n had surgery successfully. Family heredity I’m guessing. Thanks a lot. From Montreal. Love ur vids.
Thank you for this detailed video, I learned much from it., I have all the bad symptompts you explained , with my right hip joint, I have had physical therapy, cortison injection and prp injection. they did not make much difference. The cause is also just as you said, muscle imbalance, I have strong legs and weak glutes. As a last source my doctor mentioned stem cell injection, he also explained it to be an experimental cure . What is your opinion on stem cell injection pls.
Hey Ahmet, sorry to hear about your frustrations so far with healing your hip. Stem cells might offer temporary relief and they also might not work at all. It would not be good to only rely on stem cells. You can use it to get temporary relief while you work on something else to fix the root muscle imbalance. You've got to address the muscle imbalance so that you can depressurize the hip joint. It starts with working on your glute strength in a way that doesn't make it worse. Take as long as you need to be able to get to your desired goal. Gaining glute strength can take many months!
Wish I discovered you years ago! Really severe pain but just started focusing on butt muscles per your videos. Early in the process but I am seeing some improvement! Long journey but I have high hopes! Thank you 😊
YAYYYYYYY!!!!!! We're sooo happy to hear that you're already seeing some improvement Pm Mac!!!! Yes, strengthening muscles is a long journey, but the payoff is enormous if you can improve enough to avoid surgery and get back to doing all the things you love! Get going on those glutes!!! 💪🦵
Hello. I follow you from Spain. I am 49 years old and I already have a prosthesis. I'm doing fine but I don't want it in the other one. Can I do the exercises on the operated side? Thank you very much for the videos. Sorry for the google translator.
I was diagnosed with a hip impingement in my left leg 10 years ago. I am 67 years old and now both hips hurt. I am sure I have arthritis in both hips. It hurts everyday. No popping or clicking. Just stiffness and pain. I do not want a hip replacement. Any hope for me?
Hi Dr. My mom is 80yrs old and is not a good candidate for hip replacement as she is also diabetic. She has gone to therapy and had a cortizone shot 2 weeks ago which had no effect. She has been given extra strength Tylenol for over a yr now and is getting little to no relief. Do you have any suggestions as to another step we can take barring surgery?
Hey there, sorry to hear your mom is going through such a rough time :( we have a great playlist of videos available for how to heal hip arthritis if you would like to learn some more about what your mother can do to help her situation. I ice my quads and groin area with frozen water bottles. I also massage, rub the same area while utilizing a topical cream (Australian Dream) right now. Stretching helps too. There are some real Good Physical Therapists with videos on UA-cam. All the best…
Thanks for the overview. I just got diagnosed w/ hip arthritis and am doing PT and your last point about types of physical therapists/ mindset is a good one. Question -- for many years I have had a tilted pelvis (left hip lower), which my chiropractor adjusted and I was OK....until this year when my hip mobility deteriorated. Can a tilted pelvis cause or worsen the hip joint problems?
Hi, I had my X-ray done and have been to see a hip specialist at the hospital. I have degenerative changes in my hip and arthritis. I was given the option of having hip resurfacing on my left hip to begin. I’m a 38 year old personal trainer and was very active with sports (football) now iv has to give that up because of the pain. I’m back to mild running but feel it can’t handle football unless I get this surgery. What would you suggest. I have the X-ray to show you if you can give me some more advice / guidance would be amazing and if great help 🙏 thanks 🙏
Hello Dr I had hip replacement in my left hip, and the diagnosis of muy right side is fraying Labrum, chondrosis, etc, what tipe of excercices should I do ?
El paso i am 80 and suffer with OA, and thinking about your exercises. The only thing that is bothering me is i had a heart attack, and have angina and tire out very quick, should i try the exercises or not.
Hey William! Sorry to hear about your OA and heart attack. Have you ever done cardiac rehabilitation? It’s usually done in a hospital or heart clinic. You should consider doing that first before you pursue any other exercise so that you can have more confidence in doing other exercises. Our exercises are rarely very tiring for the heart, but we can’t tell you to move forward if you haven’t properly recovered from your heart attack.
Hi Maria, it definitely can. Everything is connected and if you are hurting on one side of your body, another part of your body can overcompensate and create pain.
Hi Sumunu, we're so sorry to hear that you've been dealing with hip pain that radiates to your knee! 🥺We hope you can feel some relief soon. 🙌There are various reasons why this happens but we couldn't tell you exactly why without performing a proper evaluation. We do have a hip pain help playlist that could be beneficial to you. I don’t have hip joint pain , I have groin pain especially when getting in car or going up the stairs but not when I walk or sit down. Is that still a symptom of bone on bone?
Hey Vivien, it's hard to say without looking at imaging studies. Groin pain can happen due to many different issues, but from reading your previous comments we understand you have already been dealing with knee arthritis. These could be related, glutes that are significantly weaker than your hamstrings (and quads) can lead to worsening symptoms when a person has OA. Here are two playlists that could be of help for you: “Knee Arthritis Pain Help” ua-cam.com/play/PLJVIPiFvv1maa9YF-WmKLF7oI4VoczH8i.html “Hip Arthritis Help” ua-cam.com/play/PLJVIPiFvv1mbICbP6qlXUZwMyAJlKD1dt.html
I have moderate hip osteoporosis and a labrum tear. I'm in pretty good shape and do yoga, but do have some pain and lack of full range of mobility in the hip joint. Do you have a video for this? Also do you think hot yoga, not bikrum, but in the 80 degree range is ok?
Hi Wachtel, It's terrible to hear that you have been suffering from hip osteoporosis along with a labrum tear. We can only imagine the frustration you have been through. Currently, Dr. David does not have any resources for osteoporosis as of yet, however, we will forward this comment to him so that he can take it into consideration for future content. We have a playlist for hip labrum tear help. You can view it here: “Hip Labrum Tear Help” ua-cam.com/play/PLJVIPiFvv1mZNugkhV8zHHPUu4PVh3vUy.html Regarding hot yoga the temperature range is fine but you want to ensure that you are balancing stretching and strengthening the hip. 🧡 We'd love to hear how you are doing as you progress.🙌 Please take care!
Having a feeling of something poking sometimes in the left hip of late from say a week only sometimes can it be bone on bone not yet consulted a doctor

Does anyone know anyone in the NY area that can help me avoid surgery. Even with the Hospital for Special Surgery, it is hard to find someone who doesn't want to do surgery.
Hey Diane, in the US you can find a physical therapist trained similar to Dr. Normal physical therapists are best trained to help people right after surgery.
I’m 28 with repeatable ratcheting and grinding in both hips as well as shoulders, neck, and SI joints.. I have years of alcoholism and poor life style induced autoimmune disease to blame for this I think.
Hi ForrestInc, We are sorry you've been struggling with hip arthritis. It is a very challenging and frustrating situation to deal with and we hope you can find some relief soon. We have a hip arthritis help playlist you might find helpful to get you started on your recovery. You can access it here: “Hip Arthritis Help” ua-cam.com/play/PLJVIPiFvv1mbICbP6qlXUZwMyAJlKD1dt.html Start with one or two exercises, beginning with the smallest range of motion and the lowest intensity. As you feel stronger, you can gradually increase both the range of motion and intensity. It’s best to do these exercises every day throughout the day. Aim to tire out the muscle without losing form or control. Consistency is key. Always avoid working through pain; soreness and mild discomfort are normal, but pain is not. If you find that you have seen an improvement in your situation from using the playlist we would encourage you to look into the Hip Arthritis Recovery Program at some point down the road. The program is similar to our in-person treatments minus the manual manipulation. We hope you found this information helpful to you. We'd love to hear how you are doing as you progress.🙌 Please take care!
Hey Steve! Great question! Yes under developed quads is possible, but rare. In someone who is overall weak, they may need to strengthen all over even the quads. The most common situation where quads are weak is right after a knee surgery. Anything that injures the quads will generally make them weak. Focusing on quad strengthening in that situation would be appropriate. But if there has been no direct injury to the quad and there isn't an overall debility (like being bed ridden from an illness or chronic injury), then there is usually a glute weakness that needs to be addressed for the knees and hips to be healthier.
Maybe this isn’t for me. Yes, exercise is good for over all reason of the body but let’s not fool ourselves here…once the cartilage is gone there is no way of getting it back that’s why it’s degenerative disease it gradually eats away the cartilage…yes, exercise does help to strengthen the muscles, cores, glutes eating the correct anti inflammatory foods helps with inflammation very true 👏🏻!! All these exercises helps to ease the discomfort, but facing reality cartilage is gone!!
Hey Trudy! we acknowledge that everyone's situation is unique, and what works for one person may not work for another. We encourage you to listen to your body and if you don't feel like focusing on the glutes is going to work for you then do what feels best. These methods may be considered new and different from the mainstream, Dr. David continues to refine his approach through ongoing research, collaboration with fellow experts, and his extensive clinical experience. The aim is to provide patients like yourself with effective solutions and a better quality of life. We understand that seeking non-conventional approaches can be met with skepticism, but we believe that exploring alternative treatment options can sometimes lead to breakthroughs and improved outcomes. Dr. David's focus on individualized care and his commitment to staying at the forefront of advancements in the field empower him to offer personalized solutions that may not be readily available through traditional practices.
Hello again I did have an xray of my hip last APRIL. IT SHOWED a minor problem of my hips I have been using a walker from July 2022. One night I went to the hospital I could hardly walk. My conclusion it's from my last booster shot bc of covid not what do ibneed
Hi Lesja, we are so sorry that you are having to deal with issues in your hips. Without a proper evaluation from one of our doctors, we would not be able to provide you with a definitive diagnosis. We can provide some general information that could help though. “Hip Arthritis Help” ua-cam.com/play/PLJVIPiFvv1mbICbP6qlXUZwMyAJlKD1dt.html Begins with one or two two exercises, with the smallest range of motion and the lowest intensity. As you feel stronger, you can gradually increase both the range of motion and intensity. Always avoid working through pain; soreness and mild discomfort are normal, but pain is not. If you would like to speak to one of our experts about your condition and share your X-rays, we highly recommend a Virtual Consultation. How about cartilage degeneration from the long-term use of steroid prescription drugs such as Prednisone? And, perhaps, nsaids? And...what about eating a strict, high-fat carnivore diet to help the cartilage to regenerate?

Hi I actually wrote on this page just the other day Very few people minority are ever BONE ON BONE!!!! my father's hips were fused....And the surgeon who was replacing both his hips said very few people are ever BONE ON BONE, and he had NEVER seen anyone with fused hip joints ...My father had them both replaced, sadly fell asleep in death back in 2015. Yes you can regrow your own cartilage I did it, it takes on average 90 days Some little longer some maybe a little shorter ... However Drs will not tell you this .. I was classed as grade 4 osteoarthritis Gonartrosis..Stopped all medications {personal opinion and choice} when I read just how they along with eating gluten was deteriorating the cartilage in the whole body. So yes changed my diet supplements I then found ones that work with the body {Bioavailable} and made from organic ingredients... I started to make own Bone Broth and As I have now been fitter than I was in my 20s and 30s and 40s . now 10 years since starting this regime and never looked back... I also had Fibromyalgia CFS insomnia Bronchial Asthma All gone...So as friends saw the changes they asked me for my videos on making own Bone Broth as mine is much more tastier than the original recipe.. Using only ecological chicken carcasses and veggies and Apple cider vinegar... My suggestion is look for Dr John Bergman Dr Josh Axe both of these discuss NEVER REPLACE JOINTS I found there help . Incredible...so although yes of course check out different ones to help...For pain exercise and Castor oil compresses.... Best oil ever .. I hope this information helps.. I also hope it stays here...As cannot find my comments put on the other day..❤😊
Hey Blossom 👋! We're terribly saddened to hear about the pain you've been experiencing due to hip osteoarthritis. We hope that the videos you've watched so far have been beneficial. We want to provide you with additional resources that could help with improving your current condition, here it is: “Hip Arthritis Help” ua-cam.com/play/PLJVIPiFvv1mbICbP6qlXUZwMyAJlKD1dt.html
This was absolutely the most thorough & clear explanation about hip osteoarthritis. Even my doctor and physical therapists did not explain the situation anywhere near the way you did. I understand now why the glutes strengthening exercises are so important and why age is not really a factor. Thank you so much for this!
You're welcome Diana!!! We're so glad this is making sense to you!!!
You the man!!
Dear I have hip pain but now according to ur presentation it's hip arthritis
Same for me. Exactly as you said.
I wish you were in NY. Can't find anyone where who is not all about the surgery. You are inspiring. Thanks
You're welcome Diane!!! We're glad that we can help you through UA-cam!
Thanks. Ive learned more in this half hour than I have for the past 6 months. Thanks :)
Whoa @jjbaccomba!!! We're so happy to hear that you're learning so much!!! You're welcome!!!
Thank you I had hard time walking until I watched your exercise video's

Thank you.
I am bone on bone and I don't yet have the clicking etc, thank god I caught it on time to do the excercise. Thank you 😊
I have bone on bone arthritis snd, am awaiting a hip replacement . Certainly wish I’d found this series of videos before. Absolutely brilliant and, so well and, thoroughly explained!!
Did you have the surgery or have you regained flexibility through these exercises? All the best.
How did you finish, was your hip replacement successful? You still in pain?
Best of luck.
Here are some more exercise activities incase you missed these videos.

Dr. Dave.... without a doubt...the best😊
Aw thank you Deborah!! YOU are the best!!
Hi Dr.

I have to get cortisone injections at the end of this month. I wish I could regenerate the cartilage and avoid surgery
I couldn’t even begin to tell you how this happened to me
Thank you Doctor David.

Dear Dr David,
You are a saving grace! I would love to know what your opinion on hanging for shoulder problems is!?

How do you find the type of physical therapist that you referred to that wants to avoid surgery and understands about muscle imbalances? What are the questions you ask?
Hey Susan! In the US, you can find a physical therapist trained similarly to Dr. David at this website: aaompt.org/Main/Public_Resources/Find-A-Fellow/Main/Member_Resources/Find-A-Fellow.aspx?hkey=108c9a56-f793-45e4-b3ed-cefe5d871a94
Dr. David is a fellow of the American Academy of Manual Physical Therapists. His specialty is orthopedic manual physical therapy, which is the ideal specialty for helping someone avoid surgery, injections, and medications.
Normal physical therapists are best trained to help people right after surgery.
Thank you!!
I found your channel by chance thankyou so much for wanting to help your channel is brilliant xxhugs from England xx
We're glad you found us Caroline! Thanks so much for watching!! 🇬🇧❤️
@@epmanualphysicaltherapy Thanks Doc 🙏
@@epmanualphysicaltherapy Hi Doc, is it possible to send you my Xray and have your thoughts on it? i have just received it.
What do you think of red light therapy?

Thanks Dr. David, I know I am not in balance yet. Just started the butt squeezes ! I appreciate reply!
Thank you for your answer

Hey William! Sorry to hear about your OA and heart attack. Have you ever done cardiac rehabilitation? It’s usually done in a hospital or heart clinic. You should consider doing that first before you pursue any other exercise so that you can have more confidence in doing other exercises. Our exercises are rarely very tiring for the heart, but we can’t tell you to move forward if you haven’t properly recovered from your heart attack.

What would cause generic hip/ groin/ inner thigh/ but pain? I had an CAT scan come back clean
Here are two playlists that could be of help for you:

What do I do next my medical Dr agreed with me. 😮😊😢
You can view it here: “Hip Labrum Tear Help”

Regarding hot yoga the temperature range is fine but you want to ensure that you are balancing stretching and strengthening the hip. 🧡
We'd love to hear how you are doing as you progress.🙌 Please take care!
Thank you so much for the quick reply! Correction, I have osteoarthritis. So that would be the labrum tear with moderate arthritis.
My hip is in the morning when I woke up my glut is where pain me the most
Having a feeling of something poking sometimes in the left hip of late from say a week only sometimes can it be bone on bone not yet consulted a doctor
Another question? What if there’s no cartilage
Hey Vivien, you can still make a succesful recovery even when there is little to no cartilage. Focus on building a stronger base by improving your glute strength and making sure you are being prudent at offloading your hips when necessary. Here is a playlist with hip arthritis help:

Have all the signs ✋ 21 years old
Does anyone know anyone in the NY area that can help me avoid surgery. Even with the Hospital for Special Surgery, it is hard to find someone who doesn't want to do surgery.
Hey Diane, in the US you can find a physical therapist trained similar to Dr. David at this website: aaompt.org/Main/Public_Resources/Find-A-Fellow/Main/Member_Resources/Find-A-Fellow.aspx?hkey=108c9a56-f793-45e4-b3ed-cefe5d871a94
Dr. David is a fellow of the American Academy of Manual Physical Therapists. His specialty is orthopedic manual physical therapy, which is the ideal specialty for helping someone avoid surgery, injections, and medications.
Normal physical therapists are best trained to help people right after surgery.
Where are your location or your phone number so I can call you or check you out please and thank you
I’m 28 with repeatable ratcheting and grinding in both hips as well as shoulders, neck, and SI joints.. I have years of alcoholism and poor life style induced autoimmune disease to blame for this I think.

That's me, doctor
Hi ForrestInc, We are sorry you've been struggling with hip arthritis. It is a very challenging and frustrating situation to deal with and we hope you can find some relief soon.
We have a hip arthritis help playlist you might find helpful to get you started on your recovery. You can access it here:

Start with one or two exercises, beginning with the smallest range of motion and the lowest intensity.
Thank you for your videos. You talk a lot about muscle imbalance, specifically under developed gluts, but is under developed quads also possible?
Is bike riding bad for your hip?

How come I can’t use the leg that needs hip replacement to stand I need a wheelchair
How about cartilage degeneration from the long-term use of steroid prescription drugs such as Prednisone? And, perhaps, nsaids?
And...what about eating a strict, high-fat carnivore diet to help the cartilage to regenerate?
Hi Tammy, We don't have any specific information on this exact situation. However, we will forward your comment to Dr. David so that he can consider it for future content.

Hi
I actually wrote on this page just the other day
Very few people minority are ever BONE ON BONE!!!! my father's hips were fused....And the surgeon who was replacing both his hips said very few people are ever BONE ON BONE, and he had NEVER seen anyone with fused hip joints ...My father had them both replaced, sadly fell asleep in death back in 2015.
Yes you can regrow your own cartilage
I did it, it takes on average 90 days
Some little longer some maybe a little shorter ...
I also had Fibromyalgia CFS insomnia Bronchial Asthma
All gone...So as friends saw the changes they asked me for my videos on making own Bone Broth as mine is much more tastier than the original recipe..
