My man! My man! My man! Thank you so much brother! I waited for today to take the carb apart and clean that jet and tube and afterwards two pulls and she started right up and stayed started . I appreciate the help very much. Sincerely, Jay

You need to have your video at the top of the suggestions so that people don’t waste their time on the other ones that are of no help, whatsoever. Thanks again.
Thank you. Bought one of these that had been sitting for a few years. Ran like garbage. After alot of Carb Cleaner spray and pulling out the jets and soaking them in Carb Cleaner it runs like a beast again
Thanking for helping a 12 year old have a good birthday , my 12 year old got a go kart last year for her birthday and her older sister rolled it last year they ended up with road rash but the go kart had a bent rim and wouldn’t start for nothing we had someone come and check it out they said couldn’t fix it but i you tube it and found this video and in a hour it was on
I'm very happy you were able to use my video to get the go kart running again! Your 12 year old and her sister are pretty wild to be rolling go karts 😂
At the risk of sounding like an idiot, I gotta tell ya, I couldn't get my new Predator chipper started. Having torn up the box and the styrofoam to get the parts out, I didn't want to return it. Got your video and went step by step - still wouldn't start. Then my brain woke up (woke can be useful) and i realized i had done everything right but turn the switch on. Did that and it started right up. But your video showed how to service the carburetor. So it was time well spent. Thank's for the step by step.
oh sweet I just bought a place out in the woods and the folks who sold the house left one of these behind; exact same model and everything. Haven't been able to get it started; pulled the spark plug, looked good, I was getting spark, but it's been sitting for a while and I just can't get it to crank. Just found this and I'm gonna hafta give it a try tomorrow. Good stuff, man; thanks for posting the vid! I'll let ya know how it goes!
Well, it's been rainy for the past couple of days and I didn't get to it--until today! Sure enough, totally clogged. Soaked in alcohol for a sec and blew out with a can of air, did the same for the tube, made sure everything was clear, put it all back together, and... *started on first pull* You rock, man! Oil was fine, but the stick doesn't seem to have any measurements on it; the whole thing is just a criss-crossed pattern--how do I know if there's enough in there? Is it just like, "make sure there is some" or something? No worries, in any case; I'll be keeping an eye on it, but holy crap, man; totally awesome! Thanks again for the vid!
@@jserf I'm glad the video helped you out. As for the dipstick, those cross marks don't really mean anything in my opinion. As long as the oil goes to about the top of those x marks, you're good. I see you have a Coleman cc100x in the background with an empty frame! Thats the exact reason I’m watching your video. It idles… decently on choke, but when you take it off choke it shuts its ass right off. And I have a predator 212 in it of course. Oh, and also, when I get on throttle it sputters so much and has no power unless I floor it.
Check your throttle cable to make sure the inside wire is correct and that the outside part that doesn't move is secured right at the end. I can send a picture for reference. Also, sounds like carb is dirty. If you already cleaned it and same issue either you skipped part of the video and didn't remove emulsion tube etc or maybe there's dirty just really stuck in there. Try cleaning it and make sure gas is clean (no water or dirt in it). If you're sure you did those things, make sure you put everything together correctly. Still doesn't work? Buy a new carburetor for it, sometimes there's just dirt you can't get out of it- $15 Amazon.
I have a peadator 224 and started it and gas was leaking from exhaust how do I unload engine. One pull is easy the other not so but its not locked. Could it be full of gas.
Just put a 212 predator on my mini bike and when trasporting it home from a family members shop it was layed om ots side ans oil got everywhere. I put new oil in and blew oil out the top and it still doesnt run well. Any tips on what to do?
Depending what side you laid it on, you may have gotten oil in the carburetor. I think someone else commented recently about a similar issue, and a carb clean fixed it
@@BlakesBuilds I fixed it. Not only did I put in a new AC Delco plug and unplug the oil sensor, I found out it had a fuel cutoff I didn't notice. Come to find out, it runs pretty good when it gets fuel. Go figure.
@@BlakesBuilds But don't you need to drain the gas if it's old? As in about 2 yrs in my case? I bought a used Predator 2000 that was last used a couple of years ago. I haven't tried to start it. @@fernandocastillo8026 do you mean the outside or inside is yellow? It's not necessarily bad if it's stained on the inside, just make sure you drain the fuel if you don't know it's good
took off the carb, completely cleaned it (I thought). Still has the same issue. Did I not clean it well enough or there's some other issue? Btw, do you keep your old gas or chuck it?
If you know for a fact that the gas is good and there isn't any dirt or water in it then I would keep it. If not just drain it like I did in the video and replace with new gas
Did you clean it just like I cleaned the one in this video? Make sure you spray through all the holes and try to get the emulsion tube to drop and clean that as well
If you didn’t already, check the spark plug. I changed mine in the spring and somehow by fall, it was all gummed up. Maybe some gunk got loosened up cleaning the carb. 🤷 But after that, changing the oil and cleaning the carb, runs like new.
@@anybodysguess960 you don't have to clean the other jet as much as you'll have to clean the brass jet and emulsion tube. The engine should fire up without having to clean the top one. If not, then you just have to pop it out with a flathead and spray cleaner through it
Sorry I keep asking. I watched again. I don’t see the second jet you removed: I think you only showed one so I don’t know where to find the second one?
Make sure your kill switch is in the on position. Smelling gas is good, knowing that carb is delivering fuel. I would take spark plug out and put it against bare metal on the engine still plugged in, and pull the starter rope. Have a friend or look very closely to see for a spark coming from the plug. You may have continuity in the plug, but there may be a disconnect somewhere before the plug

Exactly how I wanted to present it, really easy to do! This carb has 2 jets and an emulsion tube. The air jet (plastic piece you pop out on top of carb, under idle adjuster screw) does not usually need to be cleaned. The main jet (one that screws into bottom of carb) should be cleaned and is usually the culprit for no starts or bad idles. The emulsion tube (one that comes out after main jet is out) is also important to clean, as a clogged passageway will lead to bad idle. Cleaning the carb holes out and those two jets inside the carb are usually the only thing needed to be cleaned
Another tip, don’t turn your engine on its side with oil in it or you will have to watch this video. As in my case oil got into the cylinder and the carb whoops

He cleaned the jet so more fuel can get in and it could run with the choke on
Before it shut off on its own, after, it continues to run. 🤷♂️
Before: no work
