I have heard to avoid using a wire to clean the nozzle as it is usually a soft metal like brass. The holes of the nozzle are very carefully calibrated, and even gentle cleaning with a wire can affect the fuel air balance. If possible, I have been advised to only use carb cleaner for the nozzle.
There is not a problem using a wire, the issue is to ensure the wire is much smaller than the hole to be cleaned. Using a wire too large or drill could damage the brass/Aluminum and May effect the operation. Carburetors are all made of soft metals, plastics and precision parts. A gentle approach to any carburetor work and adjustment is necessary at all times.
I have the 7 ton splitter with 79cc engine. It works great but will absolutely not start in cold weather without a shot of propane down the carb. It will then start first pull and run great. It is very new , no ethanol gas, and other than hard starting a great little machine. Is there any adjustment on this carb that would make it start more easily in cold weather? I have found others with this machine with the same problem. Thanks for any advice.
Thank you for your question. While there is no adjustment to the carburetor, if you find that once you get your unit running the unit runs and stays on until you shut it down, you may want to try switching to a 5W-30 synthetic oil instead of the 10W-30, if that’s what you are currently using. 5W-30 is a thinner oil that we typically recommend for colder temperatures. The only thing I would add is that there is usually a very fine screen in the gas inlet port. After you remove the float valve blow some carb cleaner backwards through this valve port and then some compressed air.

Thanks to this video I now know that my new toro timecutter myride zero turn mower doesn't have a carburator problem. I don't know what it is but it is not the carburetor. It's not the fuel filter. It's not the fuel. It's not the fuel pump. The spark plug chamber might be flooding, not sure. But why would it.
hello, I cleaned the carburetor, it was not used for 2 years and the float was blocked. But now after I start and put the shock in the normal position, the generator stops. The only thing I didn't pay attention to is that black screw, pilot screw, how much it needs to be threaded, if it matters. And I didn't clean de main nozzle 😢. May be this is the issue ?
Yes, we do recommend making sure the black screw is threaded correctly & that all jets, orifices, & the pilot screw is cleaned. Check out this video from our Help Center: help.championpowerequipment.com/article/dctwwry42a-cleaning-the-pilot-jet
Thank you for your question. Your unit shutting off on its own can be caused by various factors, depending on how long it stays running. If you've left gas in the unit for a long period during storage, it's possible that the carburetor is gummed up and dirty. If the unit runs for a moment before shutting off, it indicates that there is still some spark. We would recommend cleaning the carburetor or, if necessary, replacing it entirely. If your unit was properly stored with no gas in the tank or carburetor, please verify that the oil is filled to the correct level, as the low oil sensor may be causing the unit to shut off. For more in-depth troubleshooting, we suggest reaching out directly so we can guide you through some troubleshooting or help you find the closest repair center. In addition to the fuel inlet, there is what seems to be a small vacuum fitting. (E.g., above your right forefinger at 3:23). What does that connect to?
Everything is easy when main nozzle jet is not stuck. I have not found a video explaining how to remove or what to do if the jet is stuck to the point forcing it would strip it.
Hello, if your jet is stuck to the point of forcing it out or risking stripping the threads, its a lot easier to just replace the entire carburetor. Stripping the treads is unfortunately non-repairable.

@@ChampionPowerEquipmentHQ I have tried calling you - no response after 20m minutes, emailed you twice without you replying, and your parts department says it cannot ship to my address. Where is your customer service?
What do you do when all that is done and the engine runs too rich? There is no mixture adjustment. The plug is black, the engine runs, but smooths out and speeds up after turning off the fuel tap. Classic symptoms of running too rich. Needs a smaller hole in the main jet? The main jet has a hole 0.029" diameter - what should it be?
We are sorry to hear this. Are you at a high altitude? If the generator operates too rich, it may be due to elevation, & would need an altitude jet installed for gasoline operation. We recommend cleaning the spark arrestor as well of any carbon buildup. 👍
For the main jet to be too big I would expect you would have to be at very high altitude to be as rich as you claim. Are you 100% certain you have followed and completely cleaned the entire carb, jets and passages exactly as stated in the video. How old is the generator, has it been used extensively in a dirty construction environment. If yes then check that the air filter is clean or new. Make sure the choke is connected and functioning correctly. Another question make sure the generator is used out doors only and is not tightly enclosed into some custom sound deadening structure/box. The carburetor must breathe fresh outdoor air and the exhaust must vent directly to the out doors only.
@@ChampionPowerEquipmentHQ We are at sea level. It is a rototiller and has run too rich from the word go - new last year. You refused to sell me a new main jet, saying that you could or would not ship to my address, despite that fact that you had shipped a new float chamber gasket ring only two weeks earlier. You suggested I change my address. So much for customer assistance.
Remove the "Float Bowl Bolt o-ring" before using carb cleaner. As a matter of fact, remove all the o-rings before you use the carb cleaner. I didn't, and had to make a trip to the auto parts for a o-ring replacement kit, carb cleaner will eat up the o-rings.
Bought this for my small back deck in the Eastern Sierra. ua-cam.com/users/postUgkxoHYZbq5g9fkcAtinlTqstNlje-UQkCHN We get A LOT of HEAVY snow so I was a bit skeptical but it was worth it! After the first storm of the year this has exceeded expectations! It throws snow very well, even 10-12” + that said the more it piles up the harder it is to maneuver the machine. It is exceptionally light weight and overall exactly what I was looking for. If you have a large amount of snow and a lot of area to clear, you may consider something with a drive engine to help maneuverability, but for decks, second stories, roofs etc, you can’t beat the light weight to great snow throwing ratio. Side note, the chute rotator is a bit flimsy and it initially didn’t seem to work, after a few uses it seems to have loosened up.

Carb cleaner or wd40 ?
We recommend using carb cleaner. 🙂
😊😊😊

Thanks so much for this very informative video! Be even better without the Muzak!
is this wd 40?
Oils like WD-40 must be used to clean out carburetors. Carb cleaners like Gumout are recommended to do this. 👍🏼
Put the champion site link in description.
Thks

Some helped but some dint because my carb is from the 60s
Did a clean put back together now gas pours out at the front gasket
We are very sorry to hear this. Check to make sure everything was put back tightly, as well as seals. If the issue persists, please give us a call at 1-877-338-0999 or email us at support@cpeauto.com. Thank you.

Just order a new carb, simple as that.
Thank you for your feedback. Replacing the carburetor can be a more straightforward solution, as it does not require disassembling the entire unit. However, in some cases, cleaning the carburetor may be a more practical option, especially for those who need their unit urgently and cannot afford to wait for an order.
Stay away from Westinghouse!!!! If you want a generator that is carelessly delivered direct from the factory in a torn up box, this is your generator.
If you want a generator that won’t turn on and spend countless hours with their tech support and opening up multiple cases, this would be perfect for you.
Long wait times to speak to a technician in customer service and poor service. No way to reach a manager
I wouldn’t wish this generator on my worst enemy. No way to speak to management.
By the way, shame on you Westinghouse for have such a crappy generator and service that left me without power during the Texas freeze.
My biggest regret is buying the WGen11500TFc - Tri-Fuel with CO Sensor
Cleaned my carb and still starts runs and dies I’m lost I’m about to sell my log splitter and go back to the trusty axe tired of champion
We're sorry to hear this. It is possible that the tiniest of orifices are still clogged. In this case a replacement carburetor would be needed. At your earliest convenience, please give us a call at 1-877-338-0999 or email support@cpeauto.com. Thanks for your patience.
Try replacing it , or replacing your spark plug maybe
This looks insanely complicated for an amateur. In "step 1," you didn't even show how you removed the carb.
Probably because every setup and machine is different? And they literally said find your model and see how to remove the carb
If you cant figure out how to remove it. You should probably just pay someone to do it...
That's because this how to clean and not remove . There is a separate video for removal
Step 76...this is a joke honestly. No other brand have I had as much carburetor issues as I've had with Champion.
We are sorry to hear this. Please give us a call at 1-877-338-0999 or email us at support@cpeauto.com, so we may help address any concerns you may have. Thanks for your patience. 🙂
You have to shut the fuel off and let it run to die to drain the bowl. I've had Champion for years and it starts 1st pull. And add some preserv to the fuel as well.
How he don't go over how to un screw the bottom bowl. Wtf!
You must remove the very bottom bolt in order to loosen & remove the bowl. 👍
Do you use carburetor cleaner and dw-40?
Yes, both of those should be fine. 👍
