As a V2 owner, this video nails it. When I was in the market to replace my 848, I had my mind set on a V4S, until I rode the V2. As a rider who does most of my riding on the street, it has the perfect amount of power, while still having all of the fancy electronics of the V4. Perfect all around street bike IMO.
Hi Sir may i ask you a question i am going to buy superbike in india in 2 years but biggest problem i am facing is price I can get Panigale V2 but price is 23k usd S 1000 rr Sport 26k usd. Rsv4 rr 27 k usd 😂😂 Now what is best deal in your opinion
I would probably not get a super-bike in India and probably stick with going with a dual-sport bike or something. If you have club track membership or something maybe get it for fun but then you would have to also get a truck and other utility. Additionally, the chance of the bike getting damaged, broken, etc it much higher. This is coming from an indian-american dude btw. I've ridden in the US and India, both have their problems but unless you are a track guy or are able have been riding for a really long time, I would want to ride a really fast, flashy, easy to break, expensive liter bike everywhere.
I bought a V2 last year...and I can tell that the heat...is very convenient for the Winter season ! ;-) Great option Ducati to include a heat system ! ;-)
I disagree with the thought that “Ducati owners are going to judge you if you buy a V2” completely. As an owner of V2 since July, all I have received is compliments and praise from other motorcycle owners and Ducati owners. Several people have told me that I bought the right bike and they’re right. Having ridden a V4R it’s way to fast for the street and totally unusable. I agree that there aren’t enough aftermarket parts available, but hopefully 2021 brings more of them.
I went from a '16 R1 (insanity on two wheels) to a 959....loved the 959 but sold it to pick up a V2. Briefly considered trading up to a V4, but after taking one for a test spin, it reminded me of my days on my R1 where the bike was trying it's best to kill me. The 959 and especially the V2, is the sweet spot, IMO. Ducatis are special, performance numbers aside....the cachet of the brand also has value.
I had a ‘95 monster. I think it had like 78 hp or something like that. It was fast AF. 200+ hp in a street bike is nuts. Even 150hp seems like overkill. I’ll take the v2.
The simple fact the V2 is a v-twin is pretty much the best reason to get it and pass on the V4. Ducati is known for their v-twins and nothing sounds like a big bore v-twin. The way v-twins put power down makes then beautiful to ride. I can’t speak on how a v4 feels but I love that Ducati stuck with the v-twin even though the have branched off in another direction
The bike at 0:25 (w/ Ryan Reynolds) is most certainly a Ducati. It’s the Paul Smart 1000. It was a 2006 model year only special edition of their Sport Classic lineup.
Test rode a V2 yesterday and absolutely loved it. If I I could own two bikes I'd sell my Dad bike (the Supersport), buy the V2 and then get some sort of naked street bike as well. But for now the Supersport will have to do the job. Sigh.
If all else fails and peer status means so much, the v2 sticker can be removed. End of the day it's a beautiful red Italian stallion, the posterchild of modern rebel promiscuity. I would like to have one of these when I get older as a bike to simply look at and ride around in small jaunts. The only people that would care if it's a v2 or v4 would be people looking to put someone down. I doubt a mature rider well off enough to afford a v4 would bat an eye. Perhaps a new young rider that didn't pay for it themselves would be critical, but who should care what someone like that would have to say? Safe riding everyone n happy new year :)
This may have to be my next bike. I'm not a track guy but I bet this bike would be a lot of fun on the twisties here in WA. The comfort factor is a huge plus. Thanks guys. You're awesome
Really helpful for a guy that has worked hard getting older and would love to jump into a Ducati. Wish it had cruise control for those longer rides (not sure. why the V4 does and the V2 does not when V2 more "rideable"); that being said, nicely done video, thanks so much!
Ok, I really love the Superleggera but it's very expensive, the V4 is kinda expensive, the V2 is somehow more affordable if you buy it second hand so I think most of us will aim for that bike at first and then move to a V4. But the Superleggera is the dream bike.
I’ve been watching your videos as I have my first bike but live in Britain and because of lockdown can’t get my cbt(compulsory bike training) please keep the channel going, I’m enjoying it loads
Gorgeous bike for sure! I want one. As far as the discussion on price. I think you should employ the “ Fun Index” . Where does a bike rank on the fun index . You nailed it. The riders who will ride this are the more knowledgeable ones. The fast riders do not want to ride fast bikes on the road. The V2 is rideable in the real world. People who judge other riders do not know how to ride.
Ducati V2 design is checkmate..Its almost impossible for owners to modified and make changes on the overall AESTHETIC of the bike..SEXY superbike🥰🥰😍😍😘!
Used to have a sweet '92 Ducati 750 Super Sport, back when liter bikes had 120HP max. It was severely underpowered by todays standards, but man was it fun to ride!
I had the “92” Super Light with 2 piece mg/al wheels, single seat only……a foam pad, carbon fibre front guard & dry clutch. I loved that bike, only a 2 valve, but; it had a nice meaty low & midrange. I wanted a 851 SP, but; couldn’t afford it. 😢

Just buy the real thing or regret it forever. V4 is easier to ride in every way! And blisteringly fast! Not to say I don't miss the twin sometimes 🥲

I know this is an old question & wonder which path you took. I still have my “12” 848 Evo Corse & don’t want to trade across to the V2 because it’s one of the last V-twin with a trellis frame, a Ducati lineage. I actually would love to add that to my 848, you get to have the quintessential Duke & then the new monocoque frame with the latest rider aids, with more power.
I was going to get a Scambler Cafe Racer because I love the way it looks but then I actually did research and what you can get for $12k or a lot under $12k is astounding. For instance SV650X for under $6k, Z900 for $7.5k, GSX-S1000 $9k. Or hell Aprillia RS660 at list of $11.3k.
The answer is actually quite simple to Spite's question. The reason is Ducati bikes have a soul which you can feel when you ride one ..and the rice burners do not. 🤔😎
It's all about the top shelf components off of the showroom floor. Not to mention braided steel brake lines, quality brake pads, and quality hardware they use to put Ducatis together. Back in the days when they were hand built, only women were allowed to build the motors because they would build them as if their children were riding the bikes, no joke. This philosophy carries over today. Not many Japanese bikes come with adjustable, let alone high end, suspension and brakes like Ducs do either and if you were to equip a Japanese bike in similar fashion you'd end up spending more than if you just bought the Duc. Don't get me wrong, Japanese bikes are awesome and offer fantastic performance for dollar, but Ducs really are a solid value when you factor in the build quality.
I have a 959 and definitely would not call it “easy”. It has one of the most aggressive seat positions and kinda difficult throttle control - it’s not happy under 3-4k rpm. I recently rode a new gen s1000rr and it felt like a scooter it was so easy compared to the 959 (obv i know it’s faster).
