Man, the ancient Greeks started making olive oil back in 4000 BC (!) and by the late minoan period (2000 BC) ,its was essential for every ancient greek family and trees were being cultivated all over Greece but especially in Crete. From there, other nations found out that a delicious oil could be made from olives, and because the countries by the Mediterranean were FULL of olive trees , olive oil production started in countries like Italy, spain and not so much in south france. My Boon sauce arrived a little bit ago and I'm impressed! The first thing I ate it with was Popeye's chicken sandwich and DAMN that elevated it to the next level. Watching the olive harvest was beautiful and bittersweet, my best friends family lost all their olive trees to a wild fire just two weeks before the harvest this year. Decades of cultivation, gone. It was very nice to see the full process, from tree to bottle, you could really see the passion they put into it.
Just had my first taste of Boon's oil...Wow! It's about flavor, not fire, so if you're looking for a thermonuclear meltdown in your mouth, look elsewhere. I screwed off the lid, inhaled the aroma, and was instantly reminded of those canned French fried onions that end up on top of everyone's green bean casserole. I put a little on some plain spaghetti so I could really taste it. It has a full, rich flavor with a little fire, some shallots and garlic, and a richly satisfying umami that must come from the anchovy. (The flavor is not at all fishy, although I do think this would work excellently with shrimp or other seafood.) I'm hooked.

Max was def high when he put mayo and chili oil on the pizza 😂
clearly you havent had kewpie mayo
Never thought they’d do oil before mash potatoes lol
!!! they need to do mash potatoes!
“Today on worth it, we’ll be trying three different kinds of air at 3 drastically different price points. Our first air is from here- Los Angeles!”
“Mmmm...smoky...”
Literally the next worth it episode: $1 water vs $100 water
I like how Adam's role is the same whether it be actual or virtual.
The first oil is like a Chile pepper paste sauce we mostly prepare in Africa called *SHITO* but it’s quite darker 🇬🇭
Girl I'm Ghanaian and thought the exact same thing!
Omds Ghanaian girls unite 😂😂🇬🇭 I’m Ghanaian too !!
I was thinking the exact same thing! I wish they did African foods, it’s such an untapped culinary space
Yes omg!! My mom used to allow me to get these noodles at the Asian markets because the sauce was just like shito!!
1:03 he works for Alain Ducasse... omg 😭😭😭😭😭 he is one of the best chefs in the world, its literally my dream as a culinary arts student 😱
i just see the difference in cooking between steven and andrew
That Exau oil looked amazing, the owners alone sold me on it, true passion for their product.
Soo is this the last ep of worth it? Since steven quits buzzfeed and andrew is now in ATE?
I love how they still included Adam in all the shots, in the car, then tasting the oil by himself. It's just...wholesome uwu
Steven always insisted they are a trio, even when people refer them as a duo, from season 1 bagel episode :)
@@Animaniafreak I love them as ‘dynamic duo’ and ‘three muskeeters’ at the same time. Is that makes sense ? I’m sure both Steven and Andrew knows that how important Adam is. Precious talented cinnamon roll 🤎
@@dilaraa3201 I heard from an interview that it was Steven's idea to include the camera guy, even Ryan said he liked that idea because no other show at the time was doing that. In worth it lifestyle, he tries to include camera guy Alex whenever he could, Steven just a sweet guy, always thinking of the team.
ah yes, when there's oil, there will be economic fact around it
Who knew while watching this it would be the last episode of Worth It :(
theyre still doing Worth It eps but they moved to a different channel called About To Eat
Buzzfeed: says "oil"
USA: I think you need some more freedom
My Boon sauce arrived a little bit ago and I'm impressed! The first thing I ate it with was Popeye's chicken sandwich and DAMN that elevated it to the next level. I mixed a bit with packaged tuna and brown rice for dinner (it's just one of those days) and that made my seemingly boring meal into a different monster. I'm gonna have it with noodles sometime. I may even just carry the jar around, lol
Ikr, I now add it to almost EVERYTHING!
Literally, the more hair adam grows on his face, the more of a suave potato he becomes! Its his best look by far!!
I LOVED that you guys did something I can get shipped to my house. I ordered the boon sauce before the video was even over!
Binge-ing worth it due to "got time now" after 2 years of nonstop working.. I love them all.. And i realise Andrew grows love for alot of Asian food

I'd like to see some worth it episodes for different cuisines. Like trying Mexican or Korean or Pakistani food at three different price points.
You mean some more, they have done Korean food and different Mexican-related foods.

This series is the only good thing left about Buzzfeed
Andrew: If you can get behind ranch on pizza-
Me, a midwesterner who always has ranch on his pizza: 👁️👄👁️
I'm southern, but same. I never eat pizza without ranch lol
Steve's just saying EXAU, we all know he's really a truffle boi
Italy: we have olive-
U.S: 🥱
Italy: -oil

Oh no! I'll miss the team and look forward to another season. This episode is great, because it's VERY accessible! In fact, I am going to be ordering some of these oils now! Thanks! Happy holidays!
Adam looked so out of it on the background, it's almost like he's already baked but needed to get some footage for a video so he just kinda sit there tripping on his own
Boon is not just spicy. It has flavor! It is so good on simple roast pork and a bit of soy sauce.
A good Olive oil in Spain Olive is like 5€ per liter so I don't know why someone would expend so much 😋 our recipes turn out great with our oil!
I love Spanish Olive oil 🤩
*olive oil*
Farmers in Greece sell extra virgin olive oil for like 2,5-3€ per liter, these "Italian oils" price markups are unbelievable (btw most oils with Italian label are actually imported from other countries like Greece, Tunisia etc)
@@geokon3 ye, in spain if you go to the farma, you can fins for that price aswell
“I think you think those things because of proctor and gamble!”

I haven’t watched buzzfeed in years; not since the layoffs. I’m glad to see these guys are still at it.
The editing. The editing. I just choked. Oh my gosh, thank you.
"It's time for a wonderful oil fact!"

Hi, I am trying to get 1k subs cause if i do my dad is going to buy me the new PS5!! so could you help out by subscribing?
@@XxX_65 woah buddy you’re treading in dangerous territory
Adam sitting in the background, making no movement or sound made me think of cavemen immediately lol
My fave part of this episode, hands down, is Adam telling Steven that he isn't immune to propaganda lol
I think they just stuffed Adam and propped him up in the back.
