Thrall said he never tapped into the power, he didn't say he couldn't. And I think the reason why the elements are silent to him is because I believe he didn't "ask" them to help against Garrosh. I think he took their power, not realizing it in his rage.

... Ok Blizzard listen, if you were going to give Thrall such a hard time... WHY DIDN'T HE DIE IN THE BROKEN SHORE INSTEAD OF VOL'JIN?!?!!?!?!??!?!?!?!??!??!?!?!?!
***** You mean you don't like it when they pronounce "Shay-men" or that you like that they pronounce it that way? If you don't, then that's what I meant.

I'm glad that areas like Deepholm and Vash'jir are actually being utilised. Not only is Blizz saving themselves the possible risk of a new area flopping, but helping to redeem some of these areas that were previously hated and/or forgotten (cough cough Vash'jir cough). It makes my black heart more of a gunmetal grey. 😂😂
RighteousNicky he just has to think about what he did... by which I mean his cheating in mak'gora with Garrosh. he called upon the elements, when u are supposed to solely use strength and agility
Yes, and no. It is true that Thrall put Garrosh into the position of Warchief, even if Garrosh didn't ask for it. I don't know if you can say (as Garrosh did) that he left him with so many problems he had to solve, since the Horde and Alliance situation wasn't that bad at the time. But let's just go ahead and say: yeah, sure there were problems Garrosh had to solve which Thrall didn't. Well, that's the usual thing if a leader changes, nothing special. But still, let's say thats true, since there is truth in that statement. But Thrall isn't wrong as well. Garrosh indeed choose (even if alot of that was plot device by Blizz to make him a raidboss) his way, it was him who thought capturing and tortue alliance member (and even horde members like the darkspear) is a good idea. It was his idea to bomb Theramore, not to mention everything at the end of pandaria. Thrall had nothing to do with those decisions made by Garrosh. Both have a bit of truth to their statement, still I would have to side with Thrall, since even if he left Garrosh with problems as a leader, Garrosh himself did so many horrible things to the horde, alliance and pandaria, those he can't blame on anyone else. (you could even argue he was partly responsible for the suffering of the Draenai of alternate Draenor) Regarding Thrall, I think more that he is conflicted, and that the elements sense that as well. But maybe it's not as much the elements don't listen to him, or more the fact that he's not sure and he can't call to the elements because he is conflicted himself (kind of focus issues). That I could see, since he put Garrosh in the role of warchief, and even if he wasn't directly involved with the decisions, indirectly this decision put Garrosh in the role to do alot of horrible things, alot of suffering, the death of one of Thralls closest friends (Cairne - and since he lost alot of people, this propably hurts alot) besides others, near all out war between Horde and Alliance, even the revolution inside the Horde as such. Since Thrall always tried to save his people, but prefered peace over war, those things can drag you down, even if you've only been the first little pebble in the big avalanche that came later.
No, the players made Garrosh into what he became. If the players had not complained so much about having a whiney emo Warchief, blizzard would not have had to write him off this way.
I would prefer to think so as well. Thrall never was an enhancement shaman only. Even if he was told in WoD that he "shouldn't use the hammer as much", he still was very strong in the elements (I always thought of him of kind of an elemental/enhancement hybrid, but with a stronger elemental side). You as an enhancement shaman use an elemental copy in your offhand, fight dual wield, which he never did. I'd like to think that's what he's refering to, since that would make sense and is true. You are one of the strongest shamans (or whichever class you play), but I still like to think there are other characters just as strong - or even stronger - in Azeroth and you are only part of the army who stop the legion threat.
On another note, I also would not like to think there is this "one hero" who stops the legion. What I'd like to imagine is that there is a big army in the end, who stops the legion (and even goes to argus), with the big characters from alliance and horde, the kirin tor, all the classes joining forces. And since it is a big army with alot of shamans, paladins, ect. you'd need officers. The "player characters" could be those. Meaning: you don't have the one Doomhammer shaman, the one ashbringer paladin, but all of them. The Ashbringer leading the Retri-Palas, another one has the silver hand and is leading the holy Paladins. Same with shamans, hunters, priests, you name it. Because all of those artifacts exist. Only problem: some of the artifact storys how they are obtained don't work together, since alot of them came from Karazhan...
I always thought that Enhancement would get Fistweapons and Elemental the Doomhammer. Don't get me wrong, the lore of the Fist of Ra-den is wonderfully tied to the Elemental Plane and there is no better weapon for Elemental Shamans to wield, but there is this image stuck in my mind. I started in WotLK with an Enhancement Shaman, in part for one reason. Fist Weapons were the state of the art back then and I found the whole concept of weapons like them fascinating. Most of my characters in Diablo 2 were DW Assassins, questions? Plus Thrall always felt more like an Elemental Shaman than an Enhancement one, so I was kind of surprised when the Doomhammer was for Enhancement. Hel, World Shaman as a title fits Elemental the most. But it's about the weapon, not the former Wielder, so it's ok. I guess.
Its really weird having main character powerups for every player character. Worst case is the doomhammer, as if Thrall couldn't do the stuff we do when he was channeling with the Aspects in cata.
I know Nobbel complained about having to say "The burning Legion has...." almost every video but he says it in such a jolly voice I can't help but smile when I hear it ^^,keep it up man.
Thank you for this story, Nobbel! Though, I don't like the idea of the Doomhammer being in the hands of a nameless charactar who might actually need to leave the weapon soon...
At 7:50, I want that Thrall model on the new Classic servers. I want new models to be optional in the settings, and I want that Thrall, with hair and Doomplate.
Is it just me or is Thrall the *only hero character in all of WoW* to actually *retire* from hero-ing rather than dying dramatically? (Maybe Medivh, but he died _then_ retired, because he's cool like that.)
Thank you and this is a sign that Blizzard might kill the great shamen in the coming new games, maybe not in legion but maybe after legion. Its sad to see Thrall fall. He was my favorite character since Warcraft 3.
I honestly don't like that they made thrall "conflicted" about using the doomhammer it just feels forced just an excuse for us to use it not that that isn't cool but damn this could have seen better done. I mean anyone with a brain knows that garrosh had to be put down regardless of honor and stuff plus the elements did in fact help him during the fight, if said elements didn't give a damn they wouldn't even help at all. Dammit blizzard why are destroying thralls good name.
Yeah Garrosh had to be put down, but i think its more that Thrall tried during the fight to free himself from guilt while Garrosh wasn't entirely wrong when he said that Thrall made him warchief and this is responsible for it.
I believe they just didn't want to kill him off like they did with Tyrion to give us the Ashbringer, they had to come up with something to make Thrall relinquish the Doomhammer and the leadership of the Earthen ring
Garrosh had to be destroyed regardless of rules thrall knows this and elements helped him anyway during that fight, everyone knows there's no time for any of that other stuff. What was done had to be done. Seriously if thrall died instead of voljin it would have been better and then in the future his child can eventually use the doomhammer.
I think that you have mixed lore from both timelines in this one, since the comic bits you showed in the first 6mins are from the alt-draenor, not main draenor, which is where the DH we use is from.
i know our characters are supposed to be 1 of azeroths finest but constantly perking us up to levels beyond characters like thrall and others from other campaigns is just stupid... thrall saved the world by holding together the maelstrom and 1 shotting garrosh. just bc he says "lul omg u tap moar power than i ever could" is just lazy writing when we then are gonna go use the weapon to slap some kobold and boars around, like really lol. i remember 1 thing that swtor did was make it so you fought packs in order to make your character feel heroic and strong. at least that was what they said in an interview and props for trying to get that lore aspect correct. in WoW they try to explain it with a strong character simply saying "damn u stronk" and it just feels cheap lol. i love legion so far tho, i just think that is silly haha
Guarantee, the elements never abandoned Thrall, he is just having a crisis which makes him doubt himself. The talk about the player being more powerful than he ever was, saying he is disfavored by the elements. All just blizzard trying to write him as being doubtful of himself, which he'll get over and go back to being green jesus when he does.
question: before the demon showed up, is still the same stuff like in the beta, with shamans not able to create fire, and all the shamans being pathetic and useless?
The research notes for this artifact should read, "It's the fucking Doomhammer. Have you played five minutes of any Warcraft game? Then you know what The Doomhammer is. You don't need its background explained."
aren't we all missing the real reason thrall couldn't wield the doomhammer properly? he kept his shiny melee hammer his "closest thing to a father figure" role model twinked him out with, but rolled elemental instead of enhancement. ;D
So enhance shamans just have to ask around a whole zone if they happen to have seen a falling doomhammer? what where they thinking in the story department...
Not sure how Orgrim doomed his people, more like he happened to be in charge when they lost and that wasn't his fault it was Gul'dan's. He was so greedy for power that he left the siege of Lordaeron taking his and Cho'gal's clans with him so that Orgrim had to break off the siege to go deal with him. Maybe it would have gone better for the horde if he had just bashed Gul'dan's skull earlier but then again they may not have done so well without ogre magi and deathknights.
Gul'dan took a large part of the Horde forces to search for the Tomb, but it was Ogrim's decision to sent even more forces after him, those additional forces sent away were a huge reason why the Horde did not have the strength to win the siege of Lorderon and ultimately lost the 2nd war.
Ower8x Pretty sure he sent the whole army after Gul'dan and don't think he had much choice. This was a direct challenge to his authority so he had to answer it. Not to mention what would have happened if Gul'dan had pulled it off,
***** Nerzhul never held the title of warchief until beyond the dark portal (not even sure if he was called that even then though he was in practicality). He was the most powerful shaman and very well respected before Kil'Jeaden but he wasn't warchief of the horde mainly cause the horde didn't exist yet. Blackhand was the first to have that title. Now I have to ask what does this have to do with what we were talking about? No one mentioned him or Shadowmoon or any of the events of Beyond the Dark Portal.
At lvl 110 and on a shaman, questing will lead you into Dalaran. In dalaran a quest giver will send you to the shaman order hall and from there you can pick your artifact.
So I got a 110 mage ( main alliance ), mage (horde), priest, and DH. I'm finishing a hunter now. Think I'll start working on my shaman after the hunter is done.
If you walk into Legion dalaran there should be an npc that pops up and guides you further. Wind elemental if i remember right or maybe thrall standing at the bank
Thrall did not say he could not tap into the powers, he said he never did. Thrall can tap into the powers that aspects had but not the powers of Doomhammer?
It's a shame that Legion gave us all these legendary weapons and armor pieces packed with lore, and the fate of them was to have their power drained and sit in our banks collecting dust. I would've liked if we had gotten special quests to return the weapons to their rightful places, or put them up on display in the Order Hall or something. It just felt so sad and disrespectful to see legendary items like Doomhammer and Felo'melorn get tossed to the side without any honor, specifically in exchange for some basic BFA quest greens. Such is the nature of a new expac I suppose, but I would've liked to see the items get a special send off.
I have a Tauren Male Shaman who got the Doomhammer. Also I do like the spec and it's pretty great. Do hope Enhancement is going to be great next expansion. The Doomhammer has been around a long time and I am glad my Tauren has it now. Still too my Troll Female Druid loves my Tauren.
So Thrall goes crying in a corner coz he killed Garrosh? Oh come on. Pretty uncharacteristic if you ask me. Is this rly the same guy who built the Horde and helped killed Deathwing?
with Metzen gone who the hell is going to voice Thrall? (let alone all the other characters he voiced) Does this mean we will never see Thrall again? And does anyone else notice he gives into despair as quickly as Vegeta?
Great. So any shaman can just waltz in and get the Doomhammer, the most iconic weapon associated with the Horde. But warriors getting Varian swords? Nooooo, that is holy untouchable relic...
Erm...I need an explanation here. Whats all this "using the weapon to slay garrosh" thing about? He did not use it, he used the elements themselves. The hammer wasnt even in his hand. Also killing garrosh was one of the best things to happen in quite some time so why on earth would the elements be pissed about it?
Tenebris Fractum because he was having a holy fight with garrosh, a mak'gora. It is a battle where only strenght and honor is allowed. He used the elements as a shaman only could. Therefore cheating in this holy fight. Possibly, the elements do no longer agree, so Thrall cannot use the elements as he could before.
Fair point, although I never understood how it is fair to say "yeah you are a warrior, Im a shaman but lets fight under warrior rules because fuck me I like bad odds" And yeah Garrosh and honor are two things that dont go together anyway
Actually, I just heard that it's not the elements that are angry on Thrall, it's that thrall still doubts the decisiom he made during that fight with garrosh. So much even, that he can no longer control the elemnts as well as he could before. That is why you, the player, get the Doomhammer.
Thrall: "Shay-men"
BTW, anyone else not bothered by the fact that there is a 2nd Doomhammer up for grabs in Warlords of Draenor?
"Shay-men" is the reason elements were not responding
I've Thrallen, and I can't get up!
This made me giggle kudos to you haha
I fall a lot thanks to dodgy joints, I really wish I could say this but no one around me would get it
12:08 "Like that time you threw an ENTIRE dragon down here! I only just got done cleaning up all those pieces of scrap metal!"
The Doomhammer seems to get smaller each expansion
Before you know it a household hammer would be more effective
Eventually, it might get as small as a realistic warhammer.
You wonder if someone has been injecting steroids into the Doomhammer ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)

Hey, we Enhancements want love too.
Gotta love the Doombringer, such an iconic weapon.
Almost as much as the Ashhammer.
They said these artifacts will not carry into the next expansion. My guess is Thrall by the end of legion will come back to his senses, have piece with his mind about what he had to do with Garrosh, and wield Doomhammer once again
Probably, maybe he will come to terms with the fact that he is at least partially responsible for Garrosh by putting him in said place
In the end we will all zug zug for the green Jesus
Victor Voia no. go watch the nighthold cinematic that was leaked back in late October. long live purple jesus.
Basically, although Illidan isn't a goody-two-shoes like Thrall. Illidan has no qualms about letting innocents die (or even killing them himself) if it serves the greater good. Thrall is an archetypical hero or leader. Illidan is a rebel.
I will never feel worthy of the Doomhammer
I'll be hearing 'the burning Legion has invaded azeroth once again' for the rest of my life
I love how much potential there was for the shaman order hall and Artifact weapons. Absolutely none of it was used.
I really don't like the way the player is suddenly 'able to tap into powers (Thrall) never could' it's a bit absurd.
Its the prophecy of the hammer, once your part is done, it becomes dead weight until the next wielder takes it up, makes sense.
"Power I *Never* could."
So apparently the Shaman within seconds of picking up the weapon is greater than Thrall was at his peak.
What a fitting name for an orc shaman that is gonna use the doomhammer
Face will indeed be the place
Oh yeah! I've been waiting for this one.

The research notes for this artifact should read, "It's the fucking Doomhammer. Have you played five minutes of any Warcraft game? Then you know what The Doomhammer is. You don't need its background explained."
damn that burning legion has invaded azeroth once again!
Isnt it against Mak'gora (or whatever) rules to use anything except your body?
17:07 is that a Pharah Overwatch joke?
justice wasn't raIned from above
aren't we all missing the real reason thrall couldn't wield the doomhammer properly? he kept his shiny melee hammer his "closest thing to a father figure" role model twinked him out with, but rolled elemental instead of enhancement. ;D
So enhance shamans just have to ask around a whole zone if they happen to have seen a falling doomhammer? what where they thinking in the story department...
So that's how Blackhand got his name.
ooh I bet the elements believed garrosh was innocent, just like the August celestials, and now thrall is exiled from doomhammer's power
CareerKnight Hey Career!
Gul'dan took a large part of the Horde forces to search for the Tomb, but it was Ogrim's decision to sent even more forces after him, those additional forces sent away were a huge reason why the Horde did not have the strength to win the siege of Lorderon and ultimately lost the 2nd war.
TheRagingWampa
Hey Wampa
Ower8x
Pretty sure he sent the whole army after Gul'dan and don't think he had much choice. This was a direct challenge to his authority so he had to answer it. Not to mention what would have happened if Gul'dan had pulled it off,
*****
Nerzhul never held the title of warchief until beyond the dark portal (not even sure if he was called that even then though he was in practicality).
Even the world's most famous shaman can't even pronounce "shaman" correctly.
Thrall needs some chocolate.
Nice Smorc
FINALLY MY SPEC IS HERE
Move over Thrall, we're Jesus now!
Ninja Kuma - Let's Plays, Reactions, Meme's But are you green lol
nice video
Why does the FIRE hammer disapear when HOLSTERED? :/
Fuck me, the green guy electrocuted Garrosh, what is it, the Green Mile?
How do you play this quest. New to wow in general. Just got to lv 60 in bfa
At lvl 110 and on a shaman, questing will lead you into Dalaran. In dalaran a quest giver will send you to the shaman order hall and from there you can pick your artifact.
Would have been nice to hear about the really dumb offhand that you get with the doom hammer as well.
Thrall hall, Lockdar looockdar, thrall hal if you spam hit you
So I got a 110 mage ( main alliance ), mage (horde), priest, and DH. I'm finishing a hunter now. Think I'll start working on my shaman after the hunter is done.
Kevin Rex cool
Kevin Rex cool cool
Cool. Rock on.
How do I get this I just started playing again in shadowlands and have no clue how to get this quest I’m max level shaman for now too
If you walk into Legion dalaran there should be an npc that pops up and guides you further. Wind elemental if i remember right or maybe thrall standing at the bank
@@Nobbel87 I’ll keep and eye out just didn’t know if I had to do the legion campaign first then do that
@@Nobbel87 i finally got it but the quest won’t pop up for thrall
Thrall did not say he could not tap into the powers, he said he never did. Thrall can tap into the powers that aspects had but not the powers of Doomhammer?
make the story of thrall video!!! please
liked the artifact quest
It's a shame that Legion gave us all these legendary weapons and armor pieces packed with lore, and the fate of them was to have their power drained and sit in our banks collecting dust. I would've liked if we had gotten special quests to return the weapons to their rightful places, or put them up on display in the Order Hall or something. It just felt so sad and disrespectful to see legendary items like Doomhammer and Felo'melorn get tossed to the side without any honor, specifically in exchange for some basic BFA quest greens. Such is the nature of a new expac I suppose, but I would've liked to see the items get a special send off.
you steal my kill I steal your hammer
I have a Tauren Male Shaman who got the Doomhammer.
Also I do like the spec and it's pretty great.
Do hope Enhancement is going to be great next expansion.
The Doomhammer has been around a long time and I am glad my Tauren has it now.
Still too my Troll Female Druid loves my Tauren.
Doomhammer wow vs Mjolnir from Norse not marvel
Any1 know that transmog?
So Thrall goes crying in a corner coz he killed Garrosh? Oh come on. Pretty uncharacteristic if you ask me. Is this rly the same guy who built the Horde and helped killed Deathwing?
with Metzen gone who the hell is going to voice Thrall? (let alone all the other characters he voiced) Does this mean we will never see Thrall again? And does anyone else notice he gives into despair as quickly as Vegeta?
He said he would still voice Thrall, and whoever else he voices.
Metzen is retiring from his company position but he's still voicing all his characters whenever they need
Nice.
I always thought the doomhammer was two handed?
Great. So any shaman can just waltz in and get the Doomhammer, the most iconic weapon associated with the Horde. But warriors getting Varian swords? Nooooo, that is holy untouchable relic...
Still not sure how I feel about, us just taking the Doomhammer and suddenly being better than Thrall... XD
Thrall should go back to Garroshs body and take up Gorehowl
Are we not goign to talk why can you weild 2 doomhammers? is that not goign to be mentioned?
aw i was hoping it was 2h lol
love how theres one dude clapping
Thomas den Braven then again, why let Garrosh die with honor, after all his war crimes?
Fair point, although I never understood how it is fair to say "yeah you are a warrior, Im a shaman but lets fight under warrior rules because fuck me I like bad odds"
And yeah Garrosh and honor are two things that dont go together anyway
Actually, I just heard that it's not the elements that are angry on Thrall, it's that thrall still doubts the decisiom he made during that fight with garrosh. So much even, that he can no longer control the elemnts as well as he could before. That is why you, the player, get the Doomhammer.
Its not based on a warrior class rules, it is based on Orcs battle tradition rules
Hello Nobbel!
So thrall says shaymin and then not 10 seconds later the demon says shaman 🤔
ME TUMMY THE WUBBLIES
Well Thrall you cheated during Garosh's fight so yeah, its on better hands with us now.
