We worked with BetterHelp and were provided lots of information internally showing they have fixed their major issues from a few years back. But today people have sent us information that we did not find during our research period with new troubling information surrounding their company. We have cut their sponsorship from this episode (might take a bit of time to process the video) and we have informed the company that we have no plans to work with them in the future. I am a huge mental health proponent, and I truly believed that the changes they have made would make their offerings valuable once again, but we will work to find a better mental health partnership in the future.
The show continues!! Check out todays POST SHOW: ua-cam.com/channels/Le_q9axMaeTbjN0hy1Z9xA.htmljoin

When I was his age, I was living with my parents as well. I wasn't ashamed though - I worked, went to uni, cooked, clean and helped out my parents around the house.
Not paying rent at home isn't an excuse to not be helpful or learn skill sets for proper adulthood.

    • @rtre957
      @rtre957 9 місяців тому +27

@@baconoftheark This is key. Living with your parents as an adult does not mean that nothing changes, even if you are not paying rent.
I moved out early, but many friends kept living with their parents for longer and their responsibilities increased compared to what they used to do in high school. It's like with homeschooling - if you do it right, you will end up a functioning adult, unfortunately the stereotype of being emotionally stunted exists for a reason

He could get all the pots, pans, dishes, silverware, etc he needs for under $10. If he will be living at home, maybe Mom can teach him how to set up and use a functional kitchen. Maybe Caleb should partner with a company offering a course in basic life skills (shopping, cooking, meal prep/freezing meals).

I work remote with very flexible hours. I always start by at least 11am but when I'm extra good I'll start by 10. I still work to at least 5 or 6 everyday, and often times longer. No matter what time your chosen schedule is, you have A LOT TO DO. So it's all about getting it done and it's up to you to work through your never ending to do list in a timely manner. It's been stressful honestly lately because I've been handed more clients to take care of and they're big. But I'm looking for another remote job that I think will hopefully be busy but less demanding and higher paying.

Just wait until he finds out that cybersecurity rapidly evolves and requires you to stay on top of it by constantly studying and learning new things. Then he will be in for a huge surprise when he has to do on-call differential on top of 40 hour work weeks and when there's an incident he will be putting in crazy hours... 9-5 would be paradise in cyber, it doesn't happen. He is also targeting a SENIOR level field along with a SENIOR level position in said field. He will be doing bottom of the barrel work for years before getting to where he wants to be.

Zero credit card debt, with about $50k now saved between myself and my partner for a down payment on a property. Working on a large emergency fund, I feel that is where I'm most lacking. Thanks for keepin it real, much love from Canada!

This video however does not have any captions at all, which is sad cause I love watching your videos so much. Im still going to try and watch this and turn up to the max so I can understand what's being said lol. I've worked in offices as well as remote (since 2014). Overseas and in the USA. Remote works don't mean you sleep until noon. Yes, there is more flexibility but you still need to meet the deadlines and believe me: many times putting 8 hrs/day won't be enough. I have yet to work for a company where the IT team doesn't work an insane number of hours. Also: you never stop training: that's what I love/hate the most about this job. You cannot go 6 months without learning something new, which means sacrificing personal time to do it. If you're allergic to structure, discipline and working hard: IT is the last place you need to be in.

From someone who works in Cybersecurity doing red teaming (what the guests wants to do), it's pretty much impossible to find a remote job with no experience. Employers will want you in the office for the first year or so to learn from other members of the team before they see you as capable and trusted enough to do client work remotely. There's a lot of snake-oil bs on Cybersecurity being spread by "influencers" who are trying to sell you courses that tell you that you can land a 100k+ job with no experience.

This. Google certifications are good for getting an introduction to certain topics, but in my experience they’re not useful for getting interviews. You can just coast through the courses, complete a few quizzes, maybe a capstone project, and that’s it, but they’re not proctored. Pair that with an aversion to the 9-5, and you can quickly see this guy has pretty unrealistic expectations.

My sister is “Josh’s” “girlfriend” (they have since broken up), but he never had anyone pay for his Lyfts or Uber, my sister drove him everywhere. His apartment? My sister and her friend furnished his entire apartment (aside from the moldy food in his fridge and his questionable bedding). She LEFT him fast. Just a cautionary note to any woman who decides they want to be with him: he does NOT clean, he does NOT like to pay for anything, very much like what was stated in this video he does NOT like to work. We’re currently at his apartment with a U-Haul picking up everything that my sister and her friend bought. All of the dishes that my sister bought, DIRTY and some with mold on it, we decided to leave it for him, since we’re decent enough to leave some things that my sister bought. If I could make a whole video on this I could, but I’d rather not go into more detail on what we’ve encountered in his apartment. And to “Josh”: next time you move into a place payed for by your mother, and furnished by your next girlfriend, atleast treat the place with respect. You’ve got a nice apartment, many people have parents that can’t help them pay for this kind of place. You didn’t treat it nicely, if you’re looking for a place you can trash the way you did this apartment unit, then I’d recommend just renting out a room for a few months at Motel 8.

But I also don’t use it as an excuse for why I mess up still sometimes. otherwise a cushy life literally denies children from feeling the consequences of their actions.
so yeah adults in their 20s have been in school LEARNING but not really feeling the experience of their choices. and its moreso a problem if the standardized school system doesn't teach financial literacy classes.
just think, kids i mean adults can run up a 50 to a 100k loan for education. they can finance cars before even securing long term stability. so yeah lots of these young adults sadly crash and learn along the way.

Well, more that it CAN be. It can also be a lot more expensive than you might think depending on what you want to eat. But yes, if money is the issue, cooking at home can be much cheaper while having decent quality, but maybe not exactly what you want. some things like an air fryer make stuff a lot easier.

I mean when you pin your entire self worth on being mediocre at a video game (top 40 in North America for a relatively dead game) it’s sort of all you have. He mentioned doing his degree for 2-3 years with a “I will” implying that he hasn’t started yet. At this point he’s 4-5 years behind his peers not to mention the classes skipped in secondary school. It’s sort of a vicious cycle where you play video games to escape reality but in doing so you’re making your situation even worse.

as someone with ADHD, having an irregular schedule made me super sluggish. now i have a regular, overly busy (i need to fix that part…) schedule and i am so productive that i never rest. i don’t recommend that, but my point is that ADHD is NOT a reason for being lazy. it paints a bad picture of us. i have always so badly wanted to be productive and i always thought i’d thrive with an irregular schedule and then wondered why i was always depressed, anxious, and got nothing done. the regular schedule totally fixed it for me! not saying it works for everyone, but he at least needs to give it a TRY for goodness sakes.
