I don't think people get defensive just because they are on the show, they get defensive because they have justified the purchases to themselves and get annoyed when someone tells them its unjustifiable.
They might also get defensive because Caleb's approach is very offensive, so being defensive is a natural reaction. People tend to dig in their heels when they get attacked.
I feel like it has to do with feeling entitled to treating themselves. Like this girl thinks she needs to go to concerts and treat herself while in crippling debt
If our economy was weaker, these people would be homeless. The bar is very low, which is good ‘cause it makes it possible for people to get their basic needs met but it also enables a lot of mediocrity.
This conversation is basically like: "What do you want to eat for dinner?" "Tuesday at 4 PM." "What kind of car do you drive?" "6, maybe 6.5ish." "What do you do for a living?" "Yes, if it's raining."
She doesn’t listen to anything he’s saying, she seems to have an answer already in her head to what she THINKS he’s going to say and just spits it out loudly over him as he’s talking. It was insane. No listening skills at all!
This is the second episode where I noticed that Caleb has giggled like a lunatic. Ladies and gentlemen, we are witnessing the making of a madman. Pay off your debts or you will hear that giggling under your bed.
This girl's problem is she doesn't listen. Thats why she answers the wrong questions, thats why she doesn't understand. She thinks she has a good plan and doesnt. Want. To. LISTEN.
This reminds me of that episode of the Boondocks when A Pimp Named Slickback goes, did you know that 9 out of 10 b*****s suffers from some sort of hearing loss?
I make way less than that and pay 470 a month lmao fuck it I still make the payments and have a reliable car that's increasing my credit and I'm still able to save every month u just have to be smart with ur money for it to be worth it
I do think part of it is a language barrier, it seems like Spanish might be her first language or the language she uses more often. But ya she is not comprehending things fully
@@ashleyhuddleston1409I don’t think the language barrier is the problem here. I myself don’t speak enough English to be considered totally fluent but I am able to understand and process Caleb’s questions. I believe she was just nervous as hell because I noticed she said a couple words in Spanish which also happens to me when I’m talking with someone in a more formal setting.
I’ve been working 72-80 hours weekly to pay off 27k debt and after 8 months I am one month away from being done! Keep pushing people. There is a way out you just have to want it bad enough.
People come on this show with the hopes Caleb will look at their financials & says "Wow, idk how it's possible, but you're not at fault for any of your debts. You're the one & only person who budgets in every single way I can imagine & still in debt. You're doing everything right, I don't know how I can help you"
@platgeslagengehaktbal Most obese people eat a shit ton of carbs. That's the real downfall. A lot of junk food that doesn't fill them up. So they're like "well I didn't have an actual meal" and forget the real culprit. Plus they eat out. Everyone knows eating our = more sugar in food = more hungry = eat more = never satisfied. I Generally avoid eating out, and if I do, it's a legit restaurant not a fast food place. Fast food place...I can prob eat 3 burgers and fries and still want more 🤣😅 It's addictive. Literally. Sugar is addictive. I also try to avoid snacks like chips or chocolate. Esp chips. Those bitches don't fill u up and make u over eat. Ive been buying a lot of protien enhanced snacks. Like ..."rice Krispie treats"(it's all protien. Doesn't taste the best but it prevents me from eating sugar or snacking on trash), or I'll eat fruits (I especially love grapes. They fill me up the best without eating like cray). Anywaysssss .. The key is don't eat out and eat protien meals and skip carbs. It always mindfucks me when I see friends or these people on this show get "taquitos" I literally never buy anything from gas station. Sometimes I say sure if im with friends but other than that i never do. I bring water and soda with me when going out. And some protien snacks. Just in case. I don't honestly understand people who don't bring water at the very least. 😅 It's water. We all get thirsty throughout the day. Carry an insulated bottle. Shrug. I guess this is why I'm financially thriving. And they're struggling. Note: soda is sugar free. Zero calorie. Alot of people get their calories from soda or sugary drinks and don't realize one drink could be double a meal.
I think the best way to describe why she was stupid for paying off student loans over other credit cards and bad debt is if every debt were a dragon. The student loans is the biggest debt dragon, but it's asleep, and all the other smaller debt dragons are awake and actively attacking her. She needs to defeat the smaller awake debt dragons while the big dragon is still asleep, so when it does wake up, she won't be fighting with the smaller ones anymore.
"What do you do if your checking account is low?" YOU DON'T BUY IT. YOU RAN OUT OF TOKENS. YOU HAVE TO STOP SPENDING. my GOD the mindset people have around credit....

Because she's a woman surrounded by yes-people who probably lie to her face and tell her beautiful and amazing and smart she is and she has a deluded sense of self and ego because of it 😂, happens way too often, especially with women who are overweight , modern feminism is a real treat 😂
I get why she was confused through. She's thinking "If I buy my friend a bunch of flowers it's not because I want a bunch of flowers". Caleb explained it well. We want to do nice things for people because it makes us feel good inside. We don't want the present, we want the feelings.
My IQ dropped a few points listening to this girl try to go through her mental gymnastics. I need a nap. You were not kidding about this being a Wild episode in your community post. I hope you and the rest of the team have a well deserved weekend
Also just how many times she interrupted him, I started to feel irritated and I’m not in the conversation! Props to him for sitting there and staying the course, I would have had to walk out in the first 15 minutes
Her common sense is wild. She's so confident when answering Caleb's answer, when majority of the time her answers are unrelated or puts her in a worse situation, yet she doesn't understand the negative impact on her behaviours. Her mindset is off the charts.
She’s trying to preemptively justify her poor judgment. She knows what he’s getting at and she knows she’s being stupid with her money, but she doesn’t want to admit it.
39:31 she says ONE TIME “it’s for my job” while Caleb’s talking, and when he misses it she like “I literally repeated it 3x” - she only knows how to parrot verbal behaviors. The ones before (probably learned from mom) weren’t working, so she’s now trying out Caleb’s. He was complaining about having to repeat, that was effective in getting her to listen, boom she’s gonna do it, even though she didn’t actually repeat anything. She’s like some weird adult-sized baby, that’s what babies do.
Being interrupted is already a pet peeve of mine I didn't think I could feel sympathetic pet peeves. I'm just yelling at my phone "shut up" a million times a second.
I got my mom to start watching and she’s already started saying things like “only if Caleb approves it” when she wants to get something 😂 but it’s helping make her aware!
@@bradhaines3142it’s really not hard to understand you can find diagrams and it’s just a triangle broken into sections. I forgot each one of them now but it’s easy to comprehend
Bruh I was shocked- Melanie's tours have been uber pricey, and as much as I wanted to go I couldn't justify spending that much. And she's in a way worse financial situation than I am. I'm all for concerts and scheduling things to look forward to in order to encourage feelings of wanting to live, but 3 expensive concerts in one year when you're struggling so much financially is wild
This is frustrating because most of what she tried to explain doesn't make any sense -- not just from a financial standpoint, but from a "you are not communicating anything" standpoint.
I think Caleb also was getting frustrated though, from her not understanding some things, which confused her more, and Caleb was unable to explain things clearly through the frustration.
When I was making 44, I was still able to go out to eat and put aside 500/mo because I’ve always been debt free. Minimize rent, minimize car and you can save 99% of the time.
Her brain isn’t computing what he is saying. That is exactly what is going on here. Just the argument for 20 minutes of him saying you can take all extra payments and put them toward the smallest debt payment. To her saying “then how will I pay off this debt”
yeah, and her being defensive/justifying her purchases doesn't help either. idk why she sign up for this if she doesn't want help. it's like when your house is on fire, then telling the fire fighter that they need to save the furnitures without putting out the fire first.
@@holden_tld they do it if there is a chance of it catching/prevent the spread to other nearby structures but I was speaking more of the context of a minor fire not a fully engulfed house fire.
I found this channel less than 24 hours ago. I've watched 8 episodes (I'm retired). I've had multiple panic attacks 🙃, triple checked every single financial and credit card account I have (yup, still paid off and money still there). Lost my appetite, cleaned my house and I'm in this rabbit hole deep!!! Our education system is fucked! Other than a odd older person, every young person on here isn't just ignorant they're stupid! Provide a dictionary for each of them and thanks for pushing me to make sure every young person I know will know about your channel! Holy shit 😳
The west coast (and potentially other places) uses "Buddy" in a slightly derogatory way while the midwest it's like calling someone "dude" or "bro". At least according to the 2 friends I have from the midwest and my experience growing up in the PNW.
I think you hit it dead on; "buddy" sounds nicer that stupid, just like "bless your heart" sounds better than "man, you're a dummy." I live on the East coast, and people use "buddy" as either a friendly way of addressing someone, or as a more "polite" way to call someone a jacka** or a dumba**. Fun fact- the term "pal" (word typically used to represent a friend) is used in the area where I'm from to insult someone, standing for "Personal A** Licker." 🤣
Hey Caleb, I've been a middle school teacher for many years. I'm very good at talking to people who are not good at listening. Here's some advice: 1) Talk slower. Especially when explaining things people might not get (e.g. the debt snowball). 2) Use visual aids. Showing numbers on a white board makes it easier for people to get instead of hearing all these numbers flying at them. 3) Explain your mentality. For example, this lady was like "It's $10 so it's not a big deal. It was just one time." Instead of yelling that it is a big deal, explain where you're coming from. Something like, "It's not that it's one time. It's that people get so deep in a hole not from hundred dollar or thousand dollar payments. They nickle and dime themselves into debt. It's the lipsticks and boba and Taco Bell over time that kill people, because it's more insidious and non-threatening, so they don’t pay attention to them."
Caleb needs a little bit more patience, too. No amount of slamming his hands on the desk will make his guests understand any faster why their finances are shit or have a better grasp of how numbers work. honestly, this is good advice, and I hope he saw this comment.
@@Nicktheblasian yeah. they do, but from what ive seen on this channel, it's like talking to a brick wall. what kind of reality check would it take? for them to actually reach rock bottom? a repo'd car? it would be too late, but a tough lesson would be learned and they would be so unlucky if they had nobody to bail them out.

She’s clearly either a little slow or is just really really REALLY bad at listening and has conversations in her head and just hears a couple of words you say and goes off that
The bit where she said she gives expensive gifts and he perked up and said that that is actually a want.. that really got me. I love to give great gifts and never think about the cost and how it affects my life. Just for the look on their faces for a second. Or for them to like me more.
Every single episode goes like this: Caleb: why do you spend so much money on stupid things like restaurants, vaping, concerts, clothes, trips, etc when you have so much debt and no savings? Guest: because I can afford it Caleb: no you can’t, you’re being childish. Guest: oh… uh I guess I am mentally ill and can’t be held responsible for that. Caleb: oh ok, but you actually are responsible for that. Guest: I was going to unalive myself so if you keep holding me accountable you will feel bad and like you’re being mean. Caleb: 🙃
Man I'm mentally ill and take full responsibility for my spending problems. It's bullshit when someone uses mental health to make excuses for their bad behavior.
Yup, that's their go-to. Seems like they come to the show just to justify all of those stupid decisions covering it with saying they have a mental issue and that they tried to unalive themselves. 0 empathy really.

I didn’t realize all my bullshit spending and taquitos purchases were keeping me in debt. I was definitely coping with my depression by shopping impulsively. I would justify my purchases by saying I deserve this and I was thinking of getting a new car because I have a good paying gig but since watching these videos I no longer am planning to purchase a new car, canceled several subscriptions, stopped buying lunch and coffee DAILY at work, I have been able to pay off my credit card and am 3k away from finishing paying my car. Congrats! It's not easy to change, especially financially, but damn it's so worth it! I'm happy for you, this new financial mentality will make your life so much better 👍🏾
My man I'm right there with you. One day I finally added up how much I was actually spending "to go to work" lunch, redbulls and whatnot. I was sick when I found myself nickle and diming my money away. It's a huge realization but a good step in the right direction when I corrected that
I swear so much of what Caleb says is not understood in the slightest. “You blamed your boyfriend for the car purchase…. She says “no he’s just the reason for the purchase” …. Oh boy
I sincerely hope for the best for this poor soul. But, I don't think her lights are on upstairs, and the cobwebs are building quicker than her debt. Congrats to Caleb for surviving this episode, I would have imploded trying to talk with this person.
I'm at a loss of words in seeing how someone that went to college can't comprehend that paying off debt with 30% interest is better than trying to reduce the student debt that's deferred.
I never understood cope spending until I watched this channel. My dad got diagnosed with stage 3 cancer, and I started eating out all the time because it was easy and made me feel better. I made a bunch of excuses for it, and I racked up some debt. This channel made me take responsibility for my spending and stop making excuses, now I'm digging my way out. Just know your message is getting through to some people, even if we aren't the ones sitting in the chair.
I did the same thing when my first kid was born. It was a wild time; my wife had PPD, work was non-stop, kid wasn’t eating well or gaining weight well, everyone was stressed and tired and grumpy. Spending got fast and loose too, especially with ordering out because cooking and doing dishes felt overwhelming.
Caleb, I think a good idea would be a whiteboard you can use to explain some basics to guests. Chart out the snowball method and show them how it's the best method. I think some guests are more clueless than you think about some things
This. Also, some people are visual learners, so having things explained to them, especially when it comes to math/numbers (people have learning disabilities they aren't even aware of sometimes). It's not that they are being imbeciles (not all of them anyway) it's that the words you are saying literally don't compute.
We know some people are visual learners, but the problem is not listening. If people just learn how to listen more, then we can actually get somewhere.
@@dorlisastjean4072 it seems like many of these guests don't understand interest and what APR means. He needs to open with that explanation, showing them exactly how much $ that debt will be year over year for at least 5 years. If you don't understand (or accept) what that actually looks like it's easier to brush it off. Being faced with it is different
@@lizzyblitz07 thank you. I used to fail repeatedly paying snow ball method due to the higher interest cards with higher debts continuing to grow. Sometimes tackling the highest apr is much more beneficial. Or balance transferring those to low apr cards like 0% for a year to get it under control. Some cards have graphs on their statements for you to see how much you'll pay in interest over five years at minim monthly payments. Visuals are very helpful for sure, they would certainly aid some guests/viewers.
Former teacher, current instructional coach here! I had some suggestions (feel totally free to use or ignore them) to help with some aspects of the show. 1. Visual aids! Mainly, some definitions (maybe some graphs) that explain some basic concepts you talk about. I think it's pretty apparent some guests don't understand certain basic concepts like "afford", "budget", "credit card person", etc. Having some objective definitions on the table makes it easier to bring them back to the conversation when they get defensive/argumentative. 2. Stating an Objective! Starting the conversation with the Hammer Score is already a great move. I think giving the guests (and yourself) a chance to state the goals of the audit might make help get the in the mind frame of "us against the problem" instead of "Caleb against me". 3. Behavioral Economics Basics! I think leveraging some terms from Behavioral Economics could really help your guests understand some of their behaviors around money more objectively. The biggest ones I can think of based on what I've watched are "Sunk Cost Fallacy", "Decoy Effect" and "Optimism Bias". Mostly speaking up because I have heard you state the purpose of the show is to help 1) the individuals who come on improve their situation and 2) the viewers increase their financial expertise. Hope some of this is helpful!
definitely agree on the visual aids! i think having a standard definition come up the first time a phrase is mentioned each video along with some tips would be great for folks watching
I think in the beginning of this channel he would explain a bit more (not visually). But as time has gone on, I feel that Caleb has been so entrenched in budget speak, that he cant pull himself into a mindset where “youre not a credit card person” needs to be explained in detail. Not necessarily his fault, but with a lot of guests he needs to break down a lot more of these statements and he doesn’t realize it at times because the guests dont know how to ask the questions
There is no saving her. Her prpblem is that she can never be the problem, she always has to be the victim. She was so damn dumb that she couldnt even understand that her desire to give gifts was a want and not a need. When she FINALLY understood that, she came up with blaming Caleb for his "wording" of the explanation when he even said she "wants to give gifts to see the expression on her friends faces". Sorry everyone but this girl is just dumb. I dont think you can save her.
She could be saved probably, but no one will want to. In some sense I have to believe her parents absolutely failed her in so many ways. So she needs someone to basically reparent her and undo all the damage that was done. No one is going to want to do that job,
@@amn1088 She COULD be saved IF she was never given the choice to make an independent decision ever again, never given the opportunity to borrow money, and kept away from any children's scissors. Sure, if I ever wanted a child that will never learn anything instead of a partner, she seems perfect.

Lmao it feels like EVERY episode every guest is like "I have to eat!" and every episode Caleb has to be like "Have you heard of a sandwich?!" 😂 It's crazy how many people think they NEED to get their food out at places rather than the grocery store
My brother is the same way. He refuses to cook or even try to make a little something small (like a sandwich) because he doesn't think he'll be full. Unless it's a burger and fries, he doesn't think he'll be full off of it.
Yeah I budget in eating out, but it's a few times a month and everything else I cook from scratch. Eating out several times a week would feel crazy to me also from a health point of view.
She needs to lose a ton of weight for her health. Not only could she drop her food expenses in half for the volume she could also buy healthier cheaper food. It’s quite literally a win, win, win.
Salutes to you Mr. Hammer! I do NOT have an iota of understanding of how you survived this episode! You are changing lives - no doubt! As an old man here, I think many people on your show have NO understanding of basic financial “terms” (interest, credit, etc) and how those terms specifically impact them and their budgets. So - unsolicited suggestion: give concrete example(s) like: “because you spent $25 on this card for that meal out, with 30% interest, that $25 meal actually cost you $xxxxx by the time you paid/pay it off.” Hope that makes sense. Continued success to you, Mr Hammer!
You’re so correct. Listening to her and seeing her eyes glaze over suggests she doesn’t grasp basic concepts such as how interest works. Otherwise, why pay a loan that is deferred rather than attack the 30% debt?!?!?
It's pretty obvious during the student loan conversation that she has no idea how interest rates work and what a debt to prioritize is. I would love to see Caleb calm down in those moments and make sure they really understand. I'm pretty sure she has no idea that her one credit card is going up by $100 a month even when she spends nothing on it. This is super obvious to a lot of us, but not to her. I know the team over there does a lot to help folks outside of the show, but it hurt to watch that part when I could tell she really couldn't understand the harm she was doing.
I appreciate the Caleb Springer episodes, but I also like the balance of 'normal' people too. Also, I love when he gets people who haven't seen the show. I feel like those people give more real reactions as they don't know what to expect.
Caleb, I found your show last year. I was following Dave Ramsey by then already, and my husband and I were working on paying off $320k. We just did the last payment on 04/05/24. Took us 2.5 years to pay everything off. The debt was credit cards, business debt, trucks, and home. Feels amazing to be free. Thank you for all that you teach to the young public.
@Hwgt888 The debt for truck was 70k. And for me is a need, business deductible because we carry machinery and pull trailers. When I got that truck was on 2021 when all the trucks when up. They gave me 7yrs to pay it off and I paid that off on 2 yrs. So, for me is a necessity, otherwise I will not be able to move my workers and pull my trailers or perform my job. I just purchased a KiA 2015 and paid $7000 cash, that's my personal car in case you are curious.

Caleb "The two methods are snowball or avalanche - you either pay off the lowest balance first, to eliminate a min monthly payment, or pay off the highest interest rate card, while not making any more purchases on credit" Guest "I use the delusion method - I pay a tiny bit more than the minimum each month, while still buying wants on the card to increase the outstanding balance, so that I feel like I'm making progress while actually going backwards"
I mean budgeting like you only get 2 paychecks a month is still a good starting point for someone this irresponsible. Month over month she'll obviously make more than that but it's enough to be strict to a budget.
Some people do actually get two checks a month, but I doubt this is the case for her. lol Biweekly vs Bimonthly (which can also mean every two months… English is weird)
If you budget for surviving off 2 paychecks a month, anytime you get a triple paycheck month, it can all go immediately into paying off debt/investing, as you shouldn't need that money to survive.
The way she processes all the information you were giving her, I think we can all agree that she wont change and she’ll be in debt for the rest of her life.

OR do you do it bc you WANT to see their smiles? That's what Caleb was saying 😊😊
I don’t think your guests understand that carrying a credit card balance with interest means they essentially pay 30% more for everything they buy. I really think you should walk them through the math of those purchases… like putting food on a freaking credit card.. and show them how that $15 meal actually ends up costing them $19.50. Show them what getting charged interest means, cause they really don’t know

Exactly! and it's the same mentallity of obese people saying they eat less than skinny people but still gain weight and they don't know how
This is unfortunately too true
@platgeslagengehaktbal
Most obese people eat a shit ton of carbs.
Fast food place...I can prob eat 3 burgers and fries and still want more 🤣😅
It's addictive.
It always mindfucks me when I see friends or these people on this show get "taquitos"
I literally never buy anything from gas station. Sometimes I say sure if im with friends but other than that i never do.
I bring water and soda with me when going out. And some protien snacks. Just in case.
I don't honestly understand people who don't bring water at the very least. 😅
It's water.

No, she is fluent in stupidity!
And your money habits are your armor and weapons (or lack there of). That is a really good way of looking at it

Hey Caleb, I've been a middle school teacher for many years. I'm very good at talking to people who are not good at listening. Here's some advice:
1) Talk slower.
This is great advice!
Using middle school tactics on a fully grown adult that went to college is unreal
Caleb needs a little bit more patience, too. No amount of slamming his hands on the desk will make his guests understand any faster why their finances are shit or have a better grasp of how numbers work. honestly, this is good advice, and I hope he saw this comment.

I made a bunch of excuses for it, and I racked up some debt. This channel made me take responsibility for my spending and stop making excuses, now I'm digging my way out. Just know your message is getting through to some people, even if we aren't the ones sitting in the chair.
Sorry to hear about your dad and I hope he got effective treatment.
‘My method is working’
As she applied for a financial audit because it’s, in fact, not working.
And got a .5/10 financial score before coming on
Oh man her face when Caleb tells her shes getting a 2nd job!! This show is seriously an eye opener
15:47 "bEcAusE iTs sOmeThiNg I waNteD" That is probably the most immature way to justify your spending.
And she kept doing it the entire show!! It just got more dumb. Completely backwards priorities for a grown woman.
And perhaps the most common
Isn’t that the basis for most people struggling with debt?
The fact that she thought it made it better😭
Pure Kidult mentality
At this point, she just needs to do the budgeting course. It has all the videos with the visual aids.
As an educator I thought the same LOL
definitely agree on the visual aids! i think having a standard definition come up the first time a phrase is mentioned each video along with some tips would be great for folks watching
OO love this
I think in the beginning of this channel he would explain a bit more (not visually).
Absolutely agree, and great job laying out this technique
Nah facts when she couldn't even understand a like was a want, I gave up completely. And it was on top of her trying to interrupt Caleb because she HAD to go to concerts and she HAD to get Boba and taco bell
Lmao it feels like EVERY episode every guest is like "I have to eat!" and every episode Caleb has to be like "Have you heard of a sandwich?!" 😂 It's crazy how many people think they NEED to get their food out at places rather than the grocery store
Yes that’s his they were raised
I’m a dietitian. That is a lot of people. I have to remind people that apples exist. 😂
@@TallblackchickCali yes! Scary, isn’t it? Wow!
Agreed
That’s kind of what I was hoping he would have more on his channel
Definitely, she needed a slow conversation with visuals to help her understand.
This is exactly the brain capacity I would expect from an adult with a hot topic credit card.
LMAO
I appreciate the Caleb Springer episodes, but I also like the balance of 'normal' people too. Also, I love when he gets people who haven't seen the show. I feel like those people give more real reactions as they don't know what to expect.
Ya I agree. We need more balance.
This was a great week for that balance :) we are always improving! Monday was no springer, Wednesday was 50/50, today is full springer mode.
@@CalebHammerI like that, let Friday be Springer Fridays

Ridiculous!😢
That was shocking! I shouldn’t be shocked anymore but it was shocking. Ha!
because she thinks credit card is her money when it's not. it's a borrowed money. she had an unhealthy view of credit is insane
And how much of that were your trucks you don’t need? I’m gonna guess at least 135,000
What do you and your husband do for work if you don't mind me asking?

I sure hope Caleb has a Cardiologist because I personally need one after this episode. Blood pressure through the roof.
The most informative part so far is that hot topic has a credit card program.
Wth, I had no idea! Haha
😂
@@mariahsisneros7572 they ask me all the time 💀
I just cant with this woman. Caleb is desperately trying to explain to her proper financial habits and she just sits there and defends her method.
Caleb "The two methods are snowball or avalanche - you either pay off the lowest balance first, to eliminate a min monthly payment, or pay off the highest interest rate card, while not making any more purchases on credit"
Guest "I use the delusion method - I pay a tiny bit more than the minimum each month, while still buying wants on the card to increase the outstanding balance, so that I feel like I'm making progress while actually going backwards"
The delusion method 😂😂😂 that is the most common method out there
"Is anyone still watching the video at this point"?
- half listening while scrolling. She is clueless. I've almost given up.
💀💀💀
She doesn’t get 2 paychecks a month, she gets 26 paychecks each year.
When budgeting, this matters.
It does. When I used to get paid biweekly, I budgeted for 2 paychecks per month so the months where I got 3, more McDonald's 😊
I mean budgeting like you only get 2 paychecks a month is still a good starting point for someone this irresponsible.
Month over month she'll obviously make more than that but it's enough to be strict to a budget.
Some people do actually get two checks a month, but I doubt this is the case for her. lol
Biweekly vs Bimonthly (which can also mean every two months… English is weird)
If you budget for surviving off 2 paychecks a month, anytime you get a triple paycheck month, it can all go immediately into paying off debt/investing, as you shouldn't need that money to survive.
@@Rhapsdos this would work for someone who is serious and has self control.

The way I rolled my eyes when you were trying to explain that giving expensive gifts is a want not a need... 😮 you are much more patient than you think, Caleb
I JUST finished watching that part. & I literally JUST heard her after she already said she understands that she still thinks its not her wanting to do it. How is that not a want?? I hope she is reading this comment lol!😭 Honey, the opposite of a want is a NEED😊 do you NEED to buy things for your friends & loved ones to be able to SURVIVE? OR do you do it bc you WANT to see their smiles? That's what Caleb was saying 😊😊
I don’t think your guests understand that carrying a credit card balance with interest means they essentially pay 30% more for everything they buy.
I really think you should walk them through the math of those purchases… like putting food on a freaking credit card.. and show them how that $15 meal actually ends up costing them $19.50.
Show them what getting charged interest means, cause they really don’t know
This is a great idea because it’s so true and they need to know
I agree. It may feel repetitive but he needs these instructive or educational moment in his show
I think he explains enough. He can only do so much they definitly need to put more work into understanding what he is trying to say
Most of the people on this show don’t have the slightest idea of what interest means.
