      I follow a trucker here on youtube who posts clip after clip of people like them almost causing accidents. People assume just because a semi is a bigger vehicle the person is more aggressive in driving and has worse driving skills.
      As far as I understand, you guys have to rely more on *us* being good drivers because it takes a lot longer for the trucks to come to a stop/be maneuvered in general.
      I wish you safe travels!

      Thank you!!! I drive a truck too and that was making me crazy. every time they talked about it, you can tell they still don't believe they were at fault. Like I'm sorry but your driving has to be pretty god damn egregious to be found 100% at fault in a truck accident.
      They don't need a safer car, they need to be safer drivers.

    • @SpoonHurler
      @SpoonHurler 7 місяців тому +39

      All the highly affordable camera set ups have really helped truckers and the industry... back 20 years ago you just paid out cause "You're the truck, you have to be better" but these people cannot drive in a manner to let a truck physically (like actual physics) fuction on a road. They were 1000% at fault and got given evidence as such or they'd still be trying to sue definitely.

    • @WilC379
      @WilC379 7 місяців тому +12

      @@SpoonHurlerYup. I am positive that law enforcement and insurance companies coined the term "professional driver" for the sole purpose of making their jobs easier and to generate more revenue from truckers. Vendor fees are usually fairly low for local markets, and food vendors (especially desserts) sell really well. Most of the dessert vendors I’ve worked with even sell out before the event is over. A food truck isn’t needed. Invest in branding and packaging instead.

(Not trying to be self-centered here) but a few days later, I started studying different kinds of budgets, created a budget plan and the momentary relief of years of stress just evaporated from the single fact that I KNEW where my money was and where I was in life.

    I want to give this guy some context on why not getting ahold of his debt is a bad thing. My dad was terrible with money. A couple of years ago, he passed away suddenly. Even though my parents had been separated for a decade, they were still legally married, and suddenly, my father's debts became my mom's responsibility. He lived his life perpetually in the red for the things he wanted, and now his wife and children have to deal with the consequences of that selfishness. I've never fully grieved the loss of my father because I am constantly angry about the position he left our family in out of his own irresponsibility.
    When you leave your family saddled with debt either due to death or disability, your kids will not care that you went into debt so they could eat out all the time and take vacations when they were younger. All they will see is the fact that you were too irresponsible to do the bare minimum of making sure your ducks were in a row just in case. Maybe you can handle the dollar amount, but that pales in comparison to the lack of respect that your family suddenly has for you when they are stuck filling the hole you dug for them.

      That's 27% interest after a year, whereas the 5% back is immediate, so it's not really apples to apples. Mathematically, it is better to use that card for the cash back compared to a debit card with zero cash back, as long as you pay it off quickly. Obviously, the issue is that they're not paying off their cards quickly, so they shouldn't be using credit cards at all.
      The cash back can be a psychological trick to get people to spend more and go deeper into credit card debt. When used responsibly though, it can be a positive thing, regardless of the interest rate on the card.

      She can't manage money, amass savings to cover the business investments needed, nor amass savings to cover her current salary that she'll lose until the business succeeds. This is bankruptcy waiting to happen. Moreover, there have been at least 5 cafes like the ones she describes near me open and fail in 10 years. The biggest issue I've noted is the business owner doesn't pause to consider why the service industry is such a challenging work environment for folks with ASD-1 and other similar DX's. Being fast, accurate, social, and stereotypically social at that, are not the hallmarks of ASD-1, but they are of every service industry position.
      One café near me used volunteer high school students as free labor to help the paid workers with disabilities. Students have to perform 250 hours of community service between 6-12th grade to graduate. It worked put in paper, but not great in practice. Apparently, having half your staff work for free, and that half also being the quality worker half, builds resentment.

      I'm not trying to be sarcastic, just genuinely surprised.
      I scout on big aggregator websites, like CarGurus, Autotrader and like 5 more. Of course you need to be diligent to actually physically inspect the car and all the documentation, but it's legit.
      I've bought 3 cars in the last 5 years using that method, including a 250k miles Civic for $4,500 in 2021. I had to do pretty thorough maintenance myself, but I knew that would be the case beforehand. If you're not someone who can/wants to do that, I was also considering another similar Civic in almost perfect condition but for 7k.
      And to clarify, all the cars run fine and I haven't regretted the purchases, I've bought 3 because one was for my wife and I flipped one. Like sold for a better price flipped, not like an accident flipped.
      So what I did now was set filters and looked at photos/details of the cars. The going rate seems to be around 12-15k for those minivans, true, but a lot of seemingly legit options for 7.5-10k.

    Caleb glossed over the birthday party charge but it’s actually ridiculous. I understand the oldest was invited to the party… so you take him and leave the other 2 at home with the other parent. If for some reason that other parent isn’t available (which shouldn’t be the case for them since they are both teachers and not working on weekends) then ask one of the other 4 adults in the house if they are able to watch them for 2 hours. And even if that’s not an option… then take the 11 year old and drop him off! Parents aren’t required to stay at this age.

    • @triswilsful
      @triswilsful 7 місяців тому +19

      I caught this too. It sounded like the invited kid was being paid for by the birthday boy, because she said she only had to pay for the other two. LEAVE THEM AT HOME! I never went to my sister's friends birthday parties.

      Sounds like maybe the other kids are overweight too, since the two year old wears a 4T.
      Both of my kids have stayed one year ahead for clothing sizes, but they’re taller for their age and not overweight.
      It’s sad though when you don’t know how to give your kids healthier lives than you have. A lot of people try their best but they try to just restrict eating, or cut out treats.
      Personally I think the best approach is additive; serve more and more vegetables, and focus on having many colours of the rainbow on their plates.
      Not that my family does this perfectly. I grew up surrounded by unhealthy eating habits and it’s hard to get away from.
      But that’s the advice I’d give to families like this. Add more greens - and oranges and purples and reds. The kids won’t eat them at first and that’s okay. Just pack them up as leftovers for your lunch the next day, and try again tomorrow.
