"One of them wanted to do it honorably and one of them wanted to do it evilly, I imagine." Silco was the "nicer" one and his reward was being betrayed and almost killed by someone stronger. He turned away from being kind. Vander was the "violent" one and his reward was watching his people die. He turned away from being violent. Both of them are men who have grown to hate the person they were before. "He recognizes power and he wants power." Silco doesn't know at this point what happened. All he knows is that Powder is Vander's kid and Vi 'left' her. But man did he get lucky on that one. "I assume they're doing some stuff with 3D animated software." It's 3D models that are then painted over by hand. Arcane's two seasons cost $250 million for 18 episodes, making it the most expensive animated TV show ever produced.
The series dropped 3 times 3 episodes, Jenny seems to do to the same :) and the best part is that the first 3 episodes of S2 air saturday!!
now you know why we wanted you to react to the show, beautiful animation, great characters with agency and a exciting story wrapped in one show. And as a European my thoughts and prayers go to the women in the Republic of Gilead, oh sorry i mean USA
Wise choice Jenny, I’m not even USA citizen but wow, good luck for who is. About Arcane, the series now starts to escalate a lot, it’s been a pleasure seeing you reacting to this 😊
I talked a friend into watching ARCANE, but thy stopped after the second episode saying it didn't catch their interest. The fact he never watched the third episode to this day infuriates me as the first two episodes are pretty much just build up for the third.
My thing is the may have gotten OUT but they may not have gotten AWAY. Who even knows how far they would have gotten after they got out. It’s not like Silcos guys would have stopped if they had gotten out of that hole. But they may have and that’s what hurts. It’s like everyone is to blame for this horrid end, no one is 100% to blame here, but all the characters good intentions resulted in tragedy.
Fairer to say Silco projects himself onto Powder because of the superficial aspects of their situation. He sees himself and Vander’s schism in Powder and Vi’s fight. The idea Vi “abandoned” Powder is how he sees what Vander did to him. In truth though there’s almost no actual similarity. Silco and Vander were full grown adults fighting over some extreme ideological difference in a political rebellion. Vi and Powder are barely-preteen traumatized orphans, Powder with special needs, suffering tragedy at the hands of adult man, Silco, who was trying to murder them for personal power. Even the abandonment idea is a false narrative. But Silco is both a damaged, deeply unselfaware person and a master manipulator. He’s latched onto Powder and nothing good can come from it. Even though he failed to kill them, Vi and Powder still end up his victims.
I too chant the "she's on the poster" mantra, for this and so many other shows. but this episode is just so brutal...... my brain is going, "yknow who's not on the poster?" ( I know you know now )
I originally watched this show with Daniel, and he'd already seen it. so this episode i was just like, ".......???" and he was like, "yes, they did basically just reset the entire cast you thought was established." and I was like, "fuuuuuuuuccckk...."
Thank you for the distraction. Wonderful timing. Thank you for being you.

Arcane is a superb game adaptation. The writing and animation are top tier. I just finished season 1 and I’m counting down till season 2.
I like that moment where your cheer for Powder's bomb finally working and then stare in abject horror as you remember what a bomb is.
Love your channel and all your insights. Can’t wait to see your reaction to episode 4.❤ and thx for the distraction.

"they wouldn't kill kids in the first episode" then comes 3
This show is so good. And this episode is a 10/10 for sure. I'm glad you're watching it!

I wish Wheel of Time got this treatment.

I thoroughly enjoy watching these reactions! It’s a good way to remind myself what happened in season one.

Election vs. Arcane ep3. yeah, that's a choice.
This episode, for me, has book reading quality. I wanted to scracth the screen so many times.

Yeah this was a welcome break from doomscrolling. Heck of an episode. I was just a mangled mess after i saw it the first time.
Oh wow this hits hard, doesn't it!
And just going by your name, if you like the show now... you're going to LOVE it later! 😀
Sorry about the election results. It was the last election the US will ever have.
Thank you for doing The Light’s Work. 🫂
