Don't think this is a 2024, they updated the infotainment firmware last year (for 2020+ cars) and changed the way the heated seats operate... this doesn't have that so must be early 2023 at the latest. They can all be updated, but factory 2024 models would obviously have the updated firmware.
I just ordered a 2024 and I currently have a 2022. The 2024 manual does come with eyesight but it's only for when you're in cruise control. Some advice: change the tires before driving in the snow, the summer performance tires they come with are horrific in the winter. @@superjimnz
You shouldn’t rest your hand on the shifter. Resting your hand on the gear shifter transmits forces that cause the selector fork to come into metal-to-metal contact with the rotating collar. The result of this is premature wear and damage.
um you're wrong they do have eye assist in the premium and higher they have eye site etc as well...i own a 2024 red premium and it def has more of those features
Love the blue, gotta go with that color if I go with the 24, just wish they'd have an STI goldish colored wheel option like the older models. Still a sexy looking car, even with the plastic.
You should slide your seat back a little. That's probably why you are over revving the engine on shifts. Your legs look a little cramped up under there. As far as the plastic on the front end, I'm not a big fan of it but on the bright side it should reduce the chance of pebbles damaging the paint
Sport Tech package appears to only be offered in Canada and it doesn't appear at the time of writing this comment that the 2024 WRX is available in the states yet.
I've warmed up to the looks enough (much better in person) that I would agree this is the best manual daily driver...but only if AWD and turbo power are priorities. Don't forget the Civic Type R and Integra type S exist with more power and better fuel economy. Speaking of fuel economy, the WRX is horrendous in that particular area, so much so that it would make me think twice even if dealers didn't price gouge on these things. (To be fair, Honda/Acura dealers do as well, but there are far more dealerships to pit against each other)
I want to really like these cars especially for the price but it's just missing so much compared to something like a Mustang. Non leather seats? Tail lights that look like a Honda? No digital dash? Idk. Just way overdone on the plastic cladding on the outside as well i just can't get past it. I can't hear the car either, this man is banging off rev limiter and I don't even hear the car
Brayzap because Subaru is smart. They dont put all that nasty tech crap inside sports car its not nececearally.! This is a sport car,buy yourself a Lexus instead.
I dont understand how this is a car in 2024 right. The ford Mustang in 2018 comes with heated steering, recaro leather seats, digital dash with all gauges, active exhaust, all kinds of tech and interior things and this doesnt. And they're over 6 years apart...
The heated wheel in the ford is stupid - it gets super hot - best thing is to leave it off. Recaro’s are optional on both. This is much of a sport car in terms of handling. AND - this car doesn’t crap the bed after a few months. I have had both - this wins hands down in design, engineering, quality, and fun. Had a 22 mustang for 8 months and traded for a WRX after the transmission in the Ford failed at 4k miles. No, thanks.
I agree and for the speed he is driving at it should be in 4th and and above not 2nd and 3rd. Also he needs to left off the gas a little more before down shifting.
I do like manual transmission and manual handbrake very much, thats what real drivers do like.I dont like this huge disgusting big mobile phone lcd sceeen.Thats really not nececery i am not planning to watch tv in sports car!
2024 is supposed to be equipped with eyesight on 6spds now.

Yeah that’s a 2023. In Canada eyesight is now standard across the board (2024). Even for manuals.
You shouldn’t rest your hand on the shifter. Resting your hand on the gear shifter transmits forces that cause the selector fork to come into metal-to-metal contact with the rotating collar. The result of this is premature wear and damage.
Thanks for the tip!
Good tip, but im wresting my hand on the shifter, anyway. It’s part of the cruise. It’s like saying “dont track it or it will wear prematurely”…
@@karmahunden it even says it in the manual booklet. Has nothing to do with the track.
Great review! I like your down to earth commentary. Doesn't sound stuffy and scripted. 😊
Thanks for checking it out! I try to be myself as much as possible I'm just a guy who likes to review cars! Happy that's coming through!

Great video, nice pace
Thanks!
Not a 2024. Even the dealers don’t have them yet. Not sure when the 24’s will arrive after the the new year.
2024 are available
Came here to say this, the 2024 comes with wireless AA and Apple CarPlay
My dealership called me the day they were available for order last Saturday lol! With an estimated delivery date of late March, early April
It is a 24. Hater
@@jimmygabriel6664no eyesight. 24 WRX will have eyesight

@@technicallycars yes sir! Hopefully it helps
My man...what country are u in? Ive been trying to find a limited with rear heated seats. Are u in the states?
I am in Canada!
@technicallycars that explains it. We always end up missing things that others get. This is a perfect example, just like the auto folding mirrors.
Looks awesome
It doesn't have lane assist and start stop system? And its manual too? This car is heaven!
it does but can be shut off
Give me rev match + rear seat vents, then this is the best manual daily driver for sure.
Rev match would be nice on this!
Rev match so easy to do yourself on this car that its not even really needed.

Total USA Base Model? Does it have push button start or turnkey?
Turn key
so if you get the base model with 17's you can put a fatter tire on right?
Hey can you convert this into a RWD car ?
My dream car to buy nextyear 🙏

Don't want any speeding citations from our friends in blue...
Had a couple of close call lately!
I going to get red or blue.
Great choice either way!

Why water for anything else.
Water away.

Wiredless car play sucks anyway waaay to much delay
The sound quality of any wireless system is terrible.

Less wire = more lag when doing everything = garbage also it screws up my phones connection with my Gopro can't have that.
