- In this Sportster Iron 883 video I give you my review on the Vance & Hines Short Shots. An exhaust is 1 part of the stage one upgrade and the Vance & Hines Short Shots are a great choice. They sound great on a Harley Iron 883 Sportster. I hope you like this video if so please hit the like button for me and think about subscribing to my channel. Thanks again, Tony

I have these on my Breakout and to be honest was a little disappointed with that "hallow" sound. Thanks for the heads up on the quiet baffles giving it a more throaty rumble as that's exactly what I was hoping for.
For $44.00 and a tune it's worth a shot.
Thanks and stay safe!
They sound amazing. Just had mine installed today. Worth every penny!
I agree, Vance & Hines in my opinion are the best sounding pipes out there. Rhinehart a very close second. Thanks for watching👊
Awesome information brother, helps so much.
Nice pipes and sounds good. Great channel keep the videos coming.
Thank you. Got some new stuff coming
Have them on my 2004 softail. Love them.Torque gets you going,I'll take love end power anyday
Thanks Tony , just bought a set.
Hey!!! Im about to install the short shots and i want to know how much will the fuel consuption increase afeter tunning th bike with he FP3?
The tip on the low end torque with the quiet baffle was insightful! Cheers
Do these tuck in closer to the bike on the Sportster than the stock exhaust?
Can I just install the short shots with out the tune
Great video man, I just picked up a 2018 883. I’m thinking of upgrading the exhaust to the short shots with a new air filter and fuel pack. 🐗🏍💨💨💨👍🏻
That’s a good combo. Same one I have.
get the mini grenades and let me know what you think
Great video - is there a reason why you didn't use the Vance and Hines "thinner" gasket? Since the Vance and Hines pipes ends are rounded vs. stock pipes that are flat I thought you couldn't use the stock OEM gaskets. Thoughts? Thanks
Stock gaskets I feel seals better. Harder to install for sure. Thanks for watching👊
Does the chrome hold up better than the black one’s? I have the black and the finish scratches super easily. Thinking about getting the chrome in hops it would hold up better, plus the contrast looks amazing.
Yeah man, the chrome I feel holds up better than the black finish. It does require a little more cleaning🤣. Thanks for watching👊
Same pipes as mine, chrome
Hey by any chance do you the part number for the bracket? I got a set of short shots but my buddy didn't have the bracket and i been looking like crazy online but can't find a part number
Call Vance & Hines directly.
How much did all that cost?
Have vnh short shots on my iron. It sez after selecting at FP3, I dont need to fine tune with the given downloaded map. Runs ok. Do i have to fine tune? Or let the downloaded map as IT is? Thanks
The downloaded map worked just fine for me. You can always auto tune and see if it runs better if not just flash back to the downloaded map. Ride safe.
Tony's Garage Thank you much
Hello Tony, I just got the new 883 2019 for my wife and ordered the VH short like yours , the dealership told me that they want to remove the belt cover since with this new pips they Break right off, any idea what they are talking about? Thank you very much for your time
You have to change the mount under the belt cover. 3 bolts very easy to do.
Tony Cox thank you Sir would you happen to know what kind of mount and where is a good place to get one ? I appreciate your help
It should come with the short shots.
Tony Cox thanks so much that’s great
Is the bike remapped?
I see you’re running a stock air filter some people told me I need to upgrade my air filter too. Do I really need to?
Actually, I run a Vance and Hines VO2 naked air cleaner and use the stock cover. It really does make a difference .
After installing these pipes did you have to reflash the tuner ?? Great video 👍
Yes, every time you change pipes you need to retune. Thanks for watching👊
@@TonysGarage thank you 🏆
What controls are you running?
Harley forwards
If you add the quiet baffles later, do you have to retune the ECM?
FP3 Tuner is a good choice once your factory warranty expires.
Yes you have to retune. Back pressure is increased
Not sure if I heard this but, is it necessary to remap if I replace the stocks with the short shots in an 883? Thx
If you have the stock air filter then its fine for a couple of months, But if you are going to replace the exhaust and air filter the bike will run too lean and you will need an FP3
Your gonna be running lean with the short shots. I would definitely look into a tune.
Too bad they don't offer an O2 Wide Band set up. Those Narrow Band bungs are way to close to the head to be used for Wide Band bungs... oh well.
Damn, it’s at least double the price these days
Can I have your second set of Vance and Hines
Marcos, those are long gone.
For installation, did you have to remove the brake rod or master cylinder in the rear of bike by the belt gear cover? If so, any tips there?
I think just the break rod you don’t have to mess with the master cylinder at all. Brake rod is very easy just one bolt on each end.
Tony Cox great thanks!!!
They R damn nice pipes just did a stage 1 on wide glide, bigger free flowing airbox, ECM for more gas and the Short Shots pipes, had bike dyna-tuned I can tell you bike sounds like a REAL Harley, not a 'souped up sewing machine, and the mpg 52-53 and half the time rolling on her.
My opinion. If your gonna add a bunch of upgrades to your bike. Why buy a newer bike. ?For the commentators With newer bikes.
