Nice. Sucks when the audio cant pick up the sound like our ears can as if we were there so viewers can appreciate it properly, but can definitely tell the difference.
I’ve got short shots on my ‘09 XL Custom, and honestly I think it’s too quiet. I don’t take it on long trips, and I want to piss off everyone within a mile of me, so I’m going to take the baffles out. Loud pipes save lives! 😄
Is it the exact same V&H short shots kit between the Iron 883 2021 and the 48 2022?

Hahaha yes! You know it's funny. Sometimes I think it's way too loud and yet sometimes I wish it was louder.
That app you used to do remap, is that available to anyone or do you have to buy something to get it? Also, my 1200 Iron had a stage 1 remap when it had screamin Eagle pipes fitted and high flow air filter. I've got V&H short shots in the way, do I need to do another update to system?
If your bike has a Fuelpak tuner, anyone can get the app to control it for free and yes I would recommend searching for the tune Fuelpak offers for short shots. Otherwise you will need to find out what tuner was used and use that, but I think you would still be best off with a new tune for the new exhaust. Good luck.
I’m considering getting an exhaust system because I know how much it would make riding fun. Although I do like the fact that the factory one is quite. I think I like the quite at idle but when you rode off at the end I would prefer that over stock pipes for sure
There are a lot of options that will keep your idle pretty quiet but also give you more noise in the upper RPMs, but the short shots are not that! They are loud even at idle. Thanks for watching.

A few days ago I changed the original exhaust of my iron 883 2017 to some vance & hines,
and I have felt that the motorcycle drowns when starting and the fuel consumption increased considerably,
I have not yet put the FuelPack or the high flow filter Can I use the motorcycle without the fuelPack and the high-flow filter?
They tell me that I cannot move the motorcycle without the fuelpack or the filter since the piston rings can be sharpened and the power
heads damaged, is this true?
Correct, Without the fuelpak it will run a bit lean. You need the fuelpak to add fuel to reach the optimal air/fuel ratio
Would it be alright if just had the air intake and short shots installed without the FP3 and used the bike for about a month and later or got the FP3? During this time just slow ridin and not much of revving. Would that be alright?
From what I've read, it isn't recommended. I think you would be best to wait and do them all at once. Even holding off on installong the air intake would be better since the stock air cleaner will bottleneck the system and won't allow the increased air to get into the system.
V & H Short shots always sounds more sophisticated compare to other irritating loud exhausts.
It is music to my ears, but I will say that in person, the short shots on a sportster have a high pitched pop/slap that some people find ear piercing. Others' mileage may vary. But I'm happy with them!
Did you did any modification on your bike engine for this exhaust?
The only performance related mods that I've done are the exhaust, air cleaner/ intake and FP3 tuner.

Im upgrading my iron to the stage 1, after remapping how much does the fuel consumption increase?
Honestly I didn't see a noticeable difference. I feel like gas mileage decreases with exhaust mostly because people like how it sounds and give it more throttle, but that doesn't have anything to do with the hardware or tune, just riding habits.

To be honest, it doesn't feel much different. It's also tough to tell because I installed this over the winter and had not ridden the bike for months prior. Exhaust can be misleading sometimes. Since it sounds more powerful, people think it IS more powerful. If you want proven gains, go with a 2 into 1 pipe over true duals.

@@mikeanderson2152 Good luck! The Iron 883 is a great beginner bike. Some say that it isn't the most comfortable bike out there, but I can't complain. I can still ride it around town for 2-3 hours without stopping and don't feel the need to stretch. If you are putting lots of highway miles on, there are better options. But I still love it!

Bro can i ask question? The Vans and hines short shot model 2013 hd 883 same as 2021 883 ,model? Because I want to order .
They are essentially the same, and the installation process will be the same but the part numbers might vary so just make sure the parts you order are listed to fit your model year.
Just put these on with standard baffle. Still so loud I think my head is baffled. Not sure I want to ride with ear plugs all the time
I hear ya! I ride with a full faced helmet which helps a lot. I'm going to try installing the DK Customs torque insert for increased power and a deeper tone. I'll also try the quiet baffles. I can make a video on it if anyone is interested.

Thank you. Yes this does void your warranty. I spoke to my local HD dealer and they told me that unless there was a problem that was directly associated with the exhaust/tune, they would look the other way and still honor the warranty. Of course that is subject to discretion.

Which ones are louder on a hd 48? Short shots or mini grenades?
I've been told that the mini grenades are louder, but I've never heard them in person. Honestly I can't imagine anything being louder than the short shots. I have notable hearing damage (tinnitus) in less than 2,000 miles and I'm looking into the DK Customs TT inserts to tone them down a bit. Good luck!

We're covered in snow and it's about 20 degrees F here. So, riding needs to hold off for a while but I'll be installing a swingarm bag, adding a tank lift and possibly wiring a third brake light over the winter. Thanks for following!
Its funny that everyone thinks you need to tune a bike in order to install a full exhaust / heavy breather. V&H pushes the FP3 to make more money. Sure a tune will give you more power / torque and less popping or more popping if you want it. otherwise there is no need to rush and install one

Disagree only because more air in and more air out due to the air cleaner and exhaust will cause the engine to not run within stoiciometric fuel ratio which is 14.7 and run poorly. If you get a tune it can pump up the injector flow and flow more fuel into the engine to keep up with the amount of airflow from the exhaust and intake

I went to Harley dealerships and they quote me 2k for labor and part for the exhaust which they said need 6 hours of labor.
Is this is the right price?
I do all of my own work, so I'm not sure what the going rate is. Regardless, it's just hard to stomach paying that much $$$ when the bike only costs $9k brand new! Do some research and do it on your own. Hopefully my install series can help you!

I did Vance and Hines Power Duals and Hi-Output slip-ons and high flow intake in under 3 hours.

Yes it is recommended, especially if you change the air cleaner too.
this is sound stupid but do I have to get it tuned if I was to get this exhaust?
It depends on who you ask but the general rule of thumb that I've heard is if you only do a slip on exhaust, you don't need to tune it but if you do an air intake or a full exhaust, you should also do a tuner. People have different opinions that maybe you need a tuner even for slip ons and other people say that you can get away with installing a full exhaust and no tuner as long as you don't do an air cleaner... The safest thing is to get a tuner no matter what. Doing the exhaust, an air cleaner and tuner is the only way to see much of a performance gain anyways. Good luck.
Does this work with stock air filter or any flash?
You can run these pipes with the stock air cleaner but you should still flash the ECU with a tuner. I don't think the FP3 offers a map with short shots and a stock air cleaner, so you might need to try other maps or auto tune to see what works best.
Do I need to buy the 500$ tuner thing or can I take it to Harley and get it flashes for cheaper
@@QuinnPayton I believe you will need to purchase an aftermarket tuner. I used Vance and Hines. Harley makes their own version under the screaming eagle brand and there are others out there. I think but am not 100% certain that Harley can't just flash your bike without one. Some people say that you don't need to tune it but there is a lot of info out there that confirms a stock bike comes lean from the factory and if you don't tune it with exhaust/ intake upgrades it gets much worse to a dangerous level and you can damage your piston etc. Just my 2 cents.

Do you really need new gaskets or can you ose the old ones?
I've never tried without but from my understanding they are pretty much a one time use and should be replaced every time. If there is a slight leak it will send bad info to your O2 sensors and it could run like crap.

@@Lukas-bx1ii it's easy enough to change them if you need to. Post your results. Hopefully it works out for you. Just remember if the tune is not predictable, it might mean a minor exhaust leak. The exhaust is loud enough that you might not be able to hear a leak. Good luck!

Anyway I think V&H sounds not good and isn't allowed in Germany anyway so I ordered a Jekill and Hyde exhaust.

The mini grenades sound better but I like the look of these a lot more. The grenades are louder as well, these while still loud are better than the grenades for longer trips. The grenades, on my exhaust, were full of so much BS when putting them together and I had so many issues with them that I just got these and love them WAY better. Not having to install a muffler is definitely a plus.

@@TheJourneyUA-cam Its louder but only because its the sound of the short shots but lower pitched. They dont call them grenades for nothing lol. They were just too much of a hassle when installing though. I think mine had defects in them bc ive had 0 issues with the short shots. I love the short shots. I watched this video bc I thought they were supposed to be on top of each other but my rear muffler sticks out a bit further than the front one due to the bracket. All the pictures make it look like they’re supposed to stick out the same, but your vid confirmed that mine are fine and supposed to be like that lol. Thanks!

Fuelpak FP3 app. It's free and you need it to control the Fuelpak Tuner by Vance and Hines.

@@senem1769 Do a little more research as there is a lot on information online, but the short answer is that you might not need a tuner at all if you only install exhaust. However, others feel that you do need a tuner after changing the exhaust. If you plan to change the air intake as well, you will certainly need a tuner. There are several tuners out there that work and they work with other exhaust brands besides their own. The Vance and Hines FP3 has hundreds of exhausts that it can tune for. Good luck! Please do lots of research so you don't damage your bike.

Why pay the "Harley Tax" on a 883?
Most Harley's ship from the factory in a detuned lean state for emissions purposes. This is especially true for the Sportsters. This freed up some much needed power, even though I still wouldn't classify the bike as being fast...
