I have been running the V&H Big Radius pipes on my 2007 Harley Davidson Fatboy since Aug. 2014. The engine has been dyno tuned and produces real good torque and horsepower, plus I love the sound. These pipes still have the original baffles installed. I ran V&H staggered pipes on my 2004 Harley Davidson Fatboy, also dyno tuned. Back in the day I ran V&H pipes on my 1976 Harley Davidson SuperGlide. I guess you can tell I love Vance & Hines exhaust pipes.
My days of liking short and loud exhaust is over. The tinnitus in my ears reminds me every day. I want as much noise behind me as possible. Thanks for doing the video Tripp.
The bike I have now is a 2014 Harley Fat Bob 103. Has Vance and Hines "Big Radius". Sounds great. I have owned 40 motorcycles over my life. The best sounding motorcycle I have ever owned was a 2012 Sportster Custom 1200 with "Cobra" slip-ons.
I have open V&H Lingshots on my 97 Heritage and love 'em! They're not that loud unless you're really in a hurry, but you can definitely tell when I'm in your neighborhood! The heat shields were my main purchase point, because I hate blued pipes. Buy a pair and you're not likely to regret it! Seeya!
I would like the hear the new PCX version of the V and H Big Radius to make sure it sounds like what I am used to hearing from the discontinued model. This was has a baffle?
I’ve been searching for the low rumble of the Rineharts but the more distinctive popping of the Vance and Hines short shots. I think I’ve found that with the Big Shots. Those sound amazing.
Short shots on my Wide Glide. Both black and chrome heat shields and a tuner. With quiet baffles installed. They sound nice and the road rumbles at 2200rpms
Living in the UK the choice of exhausts is not as comprehensive as the US. But yeah, they are my favourites from Vance and Hines. Your videos are always on my watch list, keep 'em comin!!

I have V&H staggered slash cuts in my 2020 Heritage 114. They sound great; fantastic lope when idling and especially good sound when you get on the throttle.
The big radius is the loudest. The cam you have in your bike determines the lope of the engine and “unevenness” of the sound, if that is what you are referring to.

@@briangoldy8784 There are good tuners for about 1/3 of that. Google and UA-cam are your friends. I bought my bike used and it came with a Screamin Eagle tuner.
I've always liked making my own baffles. Sometimes it works out sometimes it doesn't, 🤔.. but it's always fun to see how theyll perfom and sound . I've installed a lot of exhausting other people's bikes and 80% of the time it's a big improvement..

i have an 07 dyna super glide custom, ive added an aftermarket floorboard kit and wanting to add the v&h big radius but have been told it wont fit, how did you get them to fit on the heritage? thanks
I’ve got the V&H big radius on my 07 street glide and the first year it sounded AMAZING!! But about a week ago it started popping and cracking on decel and between shifts… idk if it just took 2,000 miles to break in all the way and it sounds good to an extent but now it’s got me wondering if there’s something else wrong with my Harley… no codes and no check engine light and I have the V&H FP3 tuner so I’m lost…
@@trippontwowheels I know Harley sets their bikes up with a 10% either way factory adjustment for lean and rich but like I said I’ve even got it tuned with my FP3 so idk if maybe the tuner failed all of a sudden or what happened but she’s definitely not sounding the way she did a few weeks ago.. idle and on the throttle she sounds beautiful it’s just the popping and cracking seems excessive to me… but my tuner should correct all of that you’d think…

I like the vance and hines stuff for sure, big city thunder makes the baffles which are essentially the old school "lollypops" you can remove the OEM baffles and get deep sound while adding some backpressure and reverb back to the motor,,,,quality, I think the Jap crusisers are better more reliable bikes than the HDs but only HD can produce the distinct exhaust notes, i do think the HDs have the best sounding bikes for sure, I love all bikes, but do have my favs
Over here we call them ' roeptoeters', yelling horns i guess or old fashion megaphones. If i would rev bomb that beauty over here, i would get a fine for €400,00 for ' making unnecessary noise' €90,00 for honking your horn for no reason. Are there noise pollution laws in the US? In the Netherlands it's 106 db, 90 for newer bikes. Belgium and Germany 80 db and all mountain passes, Ardennes and Alps are a no go! I hope you at least you wear earplugs, nobody likes Tinnitus. I ride an original Transalp with an original exhaust and i can sell that exhaust for crazy money( they are no longer made). But i wouldn't dream of it, i like my neighbours too much. Greenlaning my Swissarmy bike i sometimes have to make extra noise to alert a dogwalker or mountainbiker to my presence bc my 'sewingmachine' hasn't caught their attention. And i like it like that. We live in a densely populated area and laws are made to serve the ppl, not the other way around. But can you pls explain to me the obsession of being loud! I don't see the upside for it. Couldn't agree more. I have a 20 year old Harley with stock exhaust, sounds just fine. I don't like loud anti social exhaust and see no point in making a horrible noise.
I'm a firm believer in loud pipes save lives. On multiple occasions I've had cars look right through me and attempt to pull out in front of me. I run the big radius pipes with no baffle and the minute I twist the throttle those cars that didn't see you hear you real fast
I loved the stock exhaust on my Dyna Fat Bob. That’s why slip-ons are often a good alternative. If you don’t like the results, you can have your stock exhaust back on in 30 minutes. 🙂
The sound isn’t crucial when buying an exhaust? Can’t tell you how many people I know who buy one and then wish they’d purchased a different model after hearing it after the fact. Ride safe!

Best deep sound for a 103 are V&H 450's. Using True Dual pipes.

Originally wanted the big shot staggered however got some S&S Tapered slip ons for my FLSTF and dont think i'll ever change them.

There are no twin cams in the mix. The M8’s should all sound the same.
I had V&H on my 03 Vulcan and they are great. I put Krome Werks on my Road King and they are beast!

Having had an M8 Slim, I got to say, the M8 just doesn't sound like a Harley engine. The Evos and TC sounded much better.

Sounds like it’s running rich. You may want to query the Harley forum or call a good Indy shop.

I have a 99 with the S&S 113, currently running Vance & Hines big shots, but am getting drone from the engine. What can I do to mitigate this?

@trippontwowheels sorry, big shot longs. While at a constant rpm there's a "drone" noise. Best choice of words for a ear deafening vibration.
