Can't believe this doesn't have half million views. Up till recently, Honda has won more than any other brand. A video on the RC213V-S would be really good; wish I could own one of those.

Thanks! We’re trying to get there. We’ve got some good videos coming soon so stick with us! I’ll do some research on the RC213V-S and see what I can come up with.

The rc211v was conceived and entered motogp before ducati's desmocedici. Not the other way around. These videos are funny. I'll even go as far as saying that the rc211v first made its debut in 2001 at the suzuka 8hr in the hands of mighty mick doohan if I'm not mistaken. Either way, mick was involved as an R&D rider in its development.

It whas unbeatable until Valentino Rossi went to Yamahha. But the 2003 stays the most beautiful version. V5 +-250bhp and no electronics..

Man this brings all new light on their corporate decisions based on motocross! Those 2002 to 2007 CR250 2 stroke motors were pretty revolutionary at the time, and it’s a shame the plug was pulled on them. I’ve hated Honda ever since for not producing 2 strokes. Anyway, by 05 until the end in 07, the engineers were really starting to nail everything down, even though their budget was non existent by that point. I own an 06 and it is my favorite bike of all time. It’s a shame Mr. Honda hated 2 strokes, because if they were still making them then we wouldn’t have to deal with this ridiculous conglomerate of European bikes. First time anything Japanese has ever misread anything…they are incredibly smart. Yamaha is the only true player these days, but the entire western world wants Honda 2 stroke off road bikes again! Wtf Honda! These motogp bike engines are incredible though… 😂❤

Honda "struggling" in 2002? Sir, may I point out Honda was the MotoGP world champion for 7 of the preceding 8 years. Their FIREBLADE designed by Tadao Baba has been their moneymaker for the last THIRTY YEARS (1992-PRESENT). Ducati's DESMO valve system had been around since the SEVENTIES, they had won numerous world Superbike titles w/ the system, it was nothing new! You missed the entire point of the RC211V engine - the fifth piston allowed them cancel out the imbalance from squeezing the V, thus making the engine and ergo the bike more compact!

EXACTLY THEN ADDED THE LOWER CENTER MASS WITH A FULL TANK OF FUEL MAKING THE HONDA THE MOST NIMBLE FROM THE START AND OUT OF THE PIT. IT TOOK ALOT OF WORK TO THROW THE OTHERS AROUND WITH 40 LBS OF FUEL 12 INCHES HIGHER.

@@JUSTINMIRANDA-tg7tj Exactly, light makes right. The chassis w/ the gas tank lowered, etc was nothing new, they had run that as a prototype (I have never seen pics of that bike) in the 80s. The V5 was to exploit the weight rule: 145kg for 4s and 5s. They got more power w/ the 5th cylinder, a steadier firing pulse order, and they managed to squeeze it into a smaller package. People forget this is a company that had the most dominant year ever in F1, they can do anything - excellent engineers. A lot of that motorcycle GP stuff (like Big Bang firing order) came from F1, and remember it was Honda that ran it first. Probably just a case of the HRC motorcycle guys calling the F1 guys or vice versa. Ground effects and fan cars that people associate w/ F1 were really first in American CAN-AM racing, the engineers went to CAN-AM races and by osmosis it turned up on F1 years later.

To sum this up, Honda copied the Ducati but threw a ton of money into testing and development. They had the fastest bike for a few years, and now the company is more concerned with Management Procedures than winning.

this is a horrible video. your information is not accurate and misleading. the nsr500 was the dominate 500gp bike. the rc45 was replaced by the rc51 in 2000, and won the wsbk championship that year. and again in 2002. Ducati did not develop the desmodromic valve actuation for MotoGP. nor did Ducati come up with using a double bubble windscreen for racing MotoGP. there is so much wrong and misleading info it's ridiculous about the only thing you got right was how dominant the rc21 1v, that's how it's pronounced not rc211v 21st century 1st model, having won about 55% of the races it entered
