Another great review and overview. I have a 2023 Ford Transit and an entry keypad I need to add to it. One of those 5 button number pads that allows you to enter without a key fob. I was told I need to get a special USB to OBD interface and use Fords Forscan software. Can a unit like this let me program the key pad??
Thank you Richard! Ah yes while the scanner support IMMO access being able to modify a code, add or delete a code/pin will vary from vehicle make to make. And in some extreme cases a dedicated IMMO tool will also be needed (specialty locksmith level functions). Autel does accepts VIN numbers if you want them to check if it will be able to perform the function you need. Cheers!
So i bought just the scanner but i see there is a bt dongle that can work with it. Which one would i need? Also for using the key fob function, do you have to have another special tool to go with it? Im new to the scanner world and im not sure if i like this or not yet. It was on sale so i grabbed it.
Hi TJ! The MX900 does not support Bluetooth. If you need Bluetooth you will want to go for the MX900BT (I placed a link in the video description for it) Cheers!
@AlexAutoFun i just tried to use mine and it won't connect, spent all day updating and I can't get it to do anything. Think I'm going to return it and look for something else.
@@TJsVette Hi T! If you were able to get the updates, that means that your Wifi connection is working. But yes if you like to try something else I have more scanner reviews on my channel in the playlist "OBD2 Scanner Reviews" if you like to compare them. Cheers!
Can it assign VIN numbers to parts you install new and used?? Like my ABS module needs the VIN number changed that I got from the auto Junk yard??? THANKS!!
Hi R! Yes the scanner does support programming Vin's, just remember that actually being able to program or code a specific component varies from vehicle to vehicle. Autel does accepts VIN numbers if you want them to check if it will be able to access the specific function you need. Cheers!
You're welcome M! You can see if your vehicle brand is included when I go over the vehicle coverage list (feel free to use the video chapters to skip to the section you want to see) Cheers!
Hi I! Yes the scanner does support access to the BCM for seat and mirrors, however actually being able to activate or calibrate a specific component varies from vehicle to vehicle. Hi, I would like to know if it supports the Hungarian language? because the last language I saw in the language setting was Hungarian. Do you support this? 😊
@@AlexAutoFun And does it really work? Because I recently bought an Xtool D8W and they supported it there, but the language still doesn't work. Maybe you could try it? Because I want to buy one and I want to be sure that it works well. 😊
@@richardhorvath8750 Hi R! Ah unfortunately I can't tell you if it does read correctly because I don't know how to read Hungarian but also because most advanced scanners (including Autel) only let you select the language at the start (when the scanner is activated and registered). So I can't change the initial language without deactivating my unit and going thru the activation process again and then re-downloading all the software again (the reason why the language is selected at the start is so the correct software in the language selected is downloaded). However you can always contact Autel if you need confirmation of which languages are supported by the scanner. Cheers!
Hi R! Yes the scanner does support programming and coding. @@AlexAutoFun hi, yeah that's fine but on their website it seems to say it doesn't have support for any Mitsubishi before 2006 or so. Was hoping if you have time if you can go into it and double check for me please for the older models as we have a lancer evolution 2003.
Hi J! Ah Scanners typically do not drill down to the vehicle model unless connected to the vehicle. That is why the vehicle coverage list only show vehicles makes.
