- You ever spawn your ship and find it floating in the hangar? Sometimes you can't reach it? Here's a way to solve for that in game without travelling to another station to claim it!

30k protection can also cause this. When the server crashes and it stores your ship in a hangar the engines are still on if you were in flight.
It's not "user error", It's a system error EG a bug. Still a way to work around to get it back (eventually).
This issue happens every time a 30k hits while you’re travelling in you ship. Not primarily user error. This issue could easily be resolved by cig just by coding the ship’s engines to always be off when retrieving your ship at the terminal. Players need to report this in the Star Citizen issue page. Hopefully this will be resolved in a few years….🙄

all I've ever needed to do is store ship, remove power.. save.. reinstall power... save, then respawn ship and all is good. never needed to go to ship and turn power off after taking power plant out. I'm sure that it's different for some people though 🤔

Just storing it and retrieve it back, has worked 100% of the time for me.
Never messed with the power plant.
I have been turning off just the Engines, to keep my Shields powered for many years, and people have called me many names for it.
I guess these people are now getting a floaty :D
Soon when the SRV ( tractor beam tow truck ship) is put in the game. The only thing that's going to stop me from jacking your ship with the SRV is if you have the shields on.

Alternative, have a friend spawn a ship fly it in to the hanger, v jump on to your ship get it under control
OMG I'm not the only one that had this bug!!! :)
I keep my engines off now, I've had this happen twice. Also great channel from old Planetside 2, not sure why youtube doesn't recommend you channel as often I think.

Of course going back and storing your ship and then respawning it after it's been stored we'll fix this also. No need to swap out components. At least for me and my brother that have both encountered this issue numerous times just simply storing your ship and responding it fixes it
Yeah, that doesn't work every time. Best bet is to just pull the power plant.
Works at times when they give you a new hangar, usually. Claiming at a different port or station also works.

Power without a power plant; don't forget, ships are supposed to have battery backup power.
What if the ship I bought won’t show up in my hanger for me to retrieve or clam? Also my local inventory is stuck on load. Reloging doesn’t work.
I've actually not run into this bug yet in 3.17.4, even after several 30k errors have left my ship with engines on. I assumed it was fixed. I did change up my fleet at IAE, so maybe it happens to some ships, but not others?
Well if anything it shows components do work.
Typically i can just store -> retrieve a couple times then claim and for most ships in the game its quicker to try this way first cus sometimes it dont work
Cus even with the elevator speedups they did… they are still really slow on occasion… for me at least
yep did that and worked first time... Tho my vanguard door was semi closed but nothing a small jump couldn't handle. reboot the ship, close it. good to go :)
And that why, you always kill engines once landed :p
This is a particularly annoying quality of life bug. Forgot to press a key? Now you get to shuffle around for five minutes before continuing.
Issue also happens when game restoring you from crash when you was in flight.
'Fix' looks obvious but only if we look at ship as collection of components needed to function right way) - not as one beautiful indivisible piece of jpg
I have made it habit to cut power when I land in a Hanger and so the times this has happened to me is due to a 30k...
I have tried absolutely everything, but I still can't get my nomad to stop floating

this bug is still a thing? damn ive made it second nature to shutdown completely and forgot this was a thing. only real time i see it now is with the Pisces spawning with its gear up inside my carrack but since its held down by the hanger its no big deal

Not just user error. Happens to starting ship as well. I don't think it's fair to call this user error. It's a bug. Plain and simple, and it's disappointing that it hasn't been fixed after all this time.
