I have 2 ships, the Carrack and the Pisces. Ive always loved the fantasy of flying a massive multi-crew ship and the Carrack has the design of a classic movie ship like the ones from the original Alien movie. The pisces came with it and fits in it and for me, the ship itself is a slice of this games potential. Mind you I started from an Aurora and slowly worked my way up, knowing that the Carrack was the only ship I wanted to OWN own like that.
That’s awesome! Carrack is easily one of my favorite ships. Will definitely be a dream come true when it gets all its intended features and we can really use it.

I think it’s important to emphasize the in game prices and just mention the pledge prices since for the longest time this game was seen as you had to pay money for everything and not so many people realize almost everything is available in game for very obtainable prices, especially with how little we get wiped now days (keep in mind it used to be literally every small patch) and money is very easy to come by in game.

Another honorable mention for the replacement starter ship would be the Reliant (Kore or Tana).
The bubble canopy is amazing for taking in all the views while getting around the Verse to do some light missions with a buddy
I understand why people love the Reliant series but I have a weird hatred for them 😅 I think because they reminded me of a Star Wars ship (can't remember the name of it) I expected more from it, and it just utterly dissapointed me. I could see it being used for very light gameplay, especially in a non combat or maybe light PVE combat, but it just never held up well for me when all the other ships mentioned in that price category just did everything so much better for me personally. I did show it off during the section when talking about hopefully giving players enough info to pick for themselves as it is a ship a lot of players love but I personally don't.
Bro, the editing, and thoughtful placement of in game scenes and vibe specific tracks with each ship, AMAZING! Content may be king, but if the video is so boring, no one can sit through it, who cares. You have mastered both!!
You have no idea how much I appreciate your comment. I try to make everything seem purposful and meaningful but I don't want it to distract or take away from the information but to see it noticed means a crazy amount to me.

I think its worth mentioning that salvaging at the moment is kind of like a placeholder (very barebones) as a gameplay loop. Theres a lot more for cig to add in the future so i would say to prospective salvagers to be wary.
I didnt find it worth mentioning because same could be said for every gameplay loop atm. Mining, bounty hunting, salvaging, and pretty much everything else is very “placeholder.” Hell, the whole game might as well be placeholder so that’s something more worth thinking about before getting into the game in general.

*Edit* I had a Starrunner - I would wait till after its rework. It got so many nerfs. DPS, Shield, Hull. I couldn't justify owning it anymore. Maybe after the rework. (Also the Connie is on its 3rd rework)
Just keep up with updates and keep an ear out for whats going on for what ships if you ever feel you have to melt a ship for something else.
Hell of a fleet! I also got rid of my MSR not too long after it came out. Just didnt do much better than anything else i owned, plus as you mentioned, all the nerfs have it in a tough spot. Hopefully w data running and whatever else, itll be a good thing to have in buy backs.

Another one to consider for Replacements: Origin 325a.
Has a bed, kitchen, toilet (handy when they will actually be used). Underside cargo bay/ramp with 4SCU storage. Internal storage. Huge panoramic moonroof.
For combat, you have 1 Size4 and 2 Size3 hardpoints.
You're probably saying "But the Avenger Titan!" but wait; what if we had 4 Size3 Missiles you could use? Plus a function (to be added later) that allows you to missile lock multiple targets at once?
It's a "Space BMW" that looks absolutely beautiful. Makes for a great daily driver/starter IMO that can still handle some ship combat. Plus you can customize a LOT of stuff with it.
Biggest issues are a) its 70 Euro at the time of posting (or in-game for 944,200 aEUC if the website I'm looking at is correct), and b) you can only get it as a standalone ship without the game. I got mine in a package, but that was during an "Origin Celebration" event years ago.
Something to take a look at if you are eyeing the Avenger Titan. Though if you are just buying the game, the Avenger Titan is probably a better bet; 325a for an in-game upgrade or if you want something with more teeth than an Aurora/Mustang.
I have a Caterpillar, a prospector and a Constellation Taurus. At some point I plan on picking up a vulture that way i can enjoy all aspects of the game regardless of wether a wipe happens or not.
Thats a great fleet! Having at least the starter ship for every profession is a good way to go about it if you’re looking to build up a fleet with real money!

As a starter I liked the Titan for its versatility... but the cutter or nomad are good options if you are less into combat
For ship 2, you just cant go wrong with the cutlass black a great jack of all trades.
for ship 3 if you are doing cargo the Taurus is great, and you can still do bounties with it single player. If you are more into combat then the Gladius or arrow.
I love the pisces as a shuttle... but now that you can carry 3 fury's in a cutty black, I think they are gonna be a great recon, snub fighter, hit and run ship, and go down to a planet shuttle.
The fury is too much fun. Would have been good to mention in this video but if im being honest, I recorded this before we had much info on the fury and it would’ve just been a drain re-editing to throw them in there. What i really like is that it fits in the bed of a Nomad too. So now even somewhat combat interested pilot can bring along a fury, leave the nomad parked a ways away from a bounty target and still get their combat fix in

@@ThailandDantotherescue HAHAHA i didnt do that but we did try and use it last night on stream. It worked okay but the nomad was giving me some issues and the game in general was just a little rough so hard to say what was bugs and what was degraded servers

great video! well said and clear, i own a cutty black and it's my daily driver, though i can buy the cutter in now (i think) which will be my shuttle craft, i really like my corsair for ERT and HRT grinding aswell as doing some cargo.

Corsair is one of my fav daily fliers but at the time of recording this it wasn’t available to buy in game and im a huge supporter of buying in game for most people, so i went with the connie over it. The only reason i included the vulture, which i think still isn’t available in game yet, is because its a whole new gameplay loop starter so it was worth mentioning despite that.

I'm surprised you didn't mention the freelancer series. The standard freelancer gives you more cargo space while trading off the better dogfighting profile of the cutlass. I'd consider it to be the starter for the more lawful cargo trader while the cutlass is better when you expect a fight.
Tbh I've never considered the Freelancers as good useful ships. They're still trying to be jack of all trades but marginally worse at everything else while marginally better at cargo and tbh with cargo the way it is... not sure if I can really recommend it. To be fair to it tho, it is a really nice versatile platform with plenty of variants to fit any need. The ships mentioned in the list were meant to give my recommendations while hopefully explaining enough of WHY to help people choose a ship on their own that may not be on my list of recommendations.

LOL fair. Tbh tho with 30k’s being so infrequent and the 30k recovery working 99% of the time in my case, its pretty nice. The profits from cargo have taken quite a hit tho so its not as great but still viable.
Well cool video. But my starter ship was the cutlass black 😅 . So I guess my second ship was the Andromeda. Both good muti use ships. And that's what I think most people are really looking for in a second ship. Something that can do a bit of everything but more of it than a starter.

If youre not playing alone and enjoy bounty’s, definitely pick up the Hurricane, its damage output is insane and youll boost your money making in seconds
I would recommend the Scorpius over the Hurricane since pilot DPS is much higher (612 Scorpius vs 492 Hurricane stock for stock) and turret output is the same if you have a gunner. For PVE of course, I think PVP pilots prefer the hurricane just cuz it's smaller.
What about ground vehicles?

The only problem with nomad would be the fuel problem, I need to refuel almost every time.
i started like 2 months ago, im now with 2 LTI and 1 120Month insurance line to grown.
Thinking of TAURUS, Prospector/Vulture and a Titan to everyday runs for my pledged fleet, rest all will try to get ingame.

how much i wish i could use the vulture when my friend told me about this game and wanted me to get with him i looked the game up and the salvage gameplay always made me want to play it so the fact that its locked behind a pay wall right now is rough
I was very dissapointed when they added all the new salvage missions but still didn't add the Vulture to in game shops. Hopefully we'll see it purchasable in game here soon in 3.20

Connie was one of the first ships i ever bought, man does it hold a sweet spot for me.
This will shock you but the aurora with 4x s1 weapons does the same sustained DPS as the Titan with the largest weapons installed which would however fix them and disable the gimbal ability. If you want to keep gimballed weapons in the Titan you are actually going to have less DPS than the Aurora. This comparison is just using repeaters.
I didn't know that but honestly it doesn't surprise me anymore. the current weapon balance is crazy when it comes to the S1-S4 weapons. It seems to be way more beneficial to have more weapons rather than bigger weapons up to that S4 mount. Once you get up to S5 tho the weapons have a substantial jump in DPS.
For real money,
First ship, starter ship, which would include the Titan, or Nomad.
Second ship, starter ship for your chosen profession.
I won't recommend spending any more than that.

I'd bought a vulture and a pisces but the game ran so poorly i ended up refunding them and closing my account.
The game is absolutely amazing when it works but the problem is that as good as the game looks it runs equally bad.
Perhaps in a few years the game will be worth going back to but i can't imagine investing in a game where your ship randomly explodes while trying to exit or enter hangers and you can just fall through the floor and die at the most inconvenient times.
I tried for 3 days to play the game and i managed a single scavenging run in the vulture and spent the rest of my time claiming my ship after it exploded in the hanger, exploded while trying to exit the hanger, clipped through the hanger floor and exploded, didn't show up at all, 30k'd and forced me to reload, blew up hitting invisible asteroids, or the game would crash. And that's not counting all the deaths from my character falling through the floor or just falling over dead wile standing in one of those city flight transit vehicles or having all of my inventory disappear for no reason.
I honestly want the game to be good but it's been ten years in development and the performance is only getting worse.
The most important thing is dont give em money for the ships!
Now in the future won't be getting a gladius after playing the solo missions when it all comes out?
I think we're meant to get the F8C after completing the SQ42 campaign. But it has been a very long time since I've looked/heard anything about that so don't quote me. The Gladius is the main ship you will be using during the campaign however!

Which ship comes closest to Star Wars?
Theres a good number of ships I think either take inspiration from Star Wars or fill that same roll in out heads. The Scorpius was 100% inspired by thr X-wing with its fold out wing design. The MSR people always call their own version of the Millennium Falcon since its crazy fast and has great smuggling capabilities. The corsair kinda reminded me of the Twilight from the Clone Wars cuz of its asymmetrical wing design. Theres definitely inspiration there, but sometimes you gotta imagine just a little bit

You're not saying anything that hasn't been said several times by several different UA-camrs and streamers in the past...
The entire premise of the video is subjective at best because there is no 'best' ship unless you're speaking about a very specific style of gameplay or intended use. Style of gameplay and intended use are determined by the individual player and their desires so your opinion is not the "best" and there's no way to prove that your opinion is the best.
