Star Fox: Super Weekend Competiton

- Star Fox fans will love this one, this is a video of a very rare copy of the Star Fox Super Weekend Competition (well, a copy of the ROM file at least). The object of the game was to see who was the best player at the old Star Fox, so in 1993, Nintendo made what seems to be only 2000 copies of this short 4 minute chalenge where players would compete to see who could score the highest in that short amount of time.
It's broken up into three stages, the first level is a very short Corneria stage, with the Attack Carrier as a boss. The second level is a short Asteroid Belt with the Rock Crusher as the final boss. However, the third level is much different. Although it uses the Space Armada music, the level feels more like a training level. It goes around in circles, much like the Black Hole or Titania and the player is challenged to score huge points in the time that's left. This level is the reason that a player wants to beat the first two bosses as fast as possible.
So, sit back and enjoy this one.
It's kinda funny, I ran this again the morning after I made the video, and managed a score of 287,751. Go figure.
Why do I always get the worst screen grabs for the video preview?
im a huge starfox fan i still have this on my shelves :D
Nice, I remember playing this back in 1993 and winning a tshirt.
Great game with great music
Plenty of money is being printed every second of your life, but those cartridges are a piece of history; Not a single more will exist in the lifetime of this universe. Do the math and hold onto it.
Just like land, God (metaphorically speaking) isn't making any more. It's a finite resource and thus an appreciating asset that will rise in value eventually up to infinity given enough time.
I still have my regular Star Fox cartridge. I still play it up to this day, trying to beat route 3.
I didn't know barrel rolls were so useful. I guess Peppy has the right idea.
Yup, there is. Apparently, there's only an estimated 2000 of them that were ever made and luckily I have one of them. :D
Iv got a jacket, and a couple shirts, and some of the pins
That was the creepiest Slippy I've ever seen...
I just saw one of these on ebay today for a dollar. Think I might pick it up :-)
Yup and if I remember correctly I got if for like $3 and some change. :D
So amazing, there is a copy on ebay right now going for 550 bucks!
This would be great for the Nintendo Wii Virtual Console, along with the oringinal starfox game.
OMG Best players got free vacation!
I wanna ask someone who has won that vaction trip, where they travelled for vacation
this game has been in my basement for 15 years, bought it from nintendo power when i was 10. gotta find it
trevino2020 i recently bought star fox super weekend on ebay, i paid over 300 for it. I like it better than donkey kong comp. there is not one for 1 dollar thats the original star fox not the super weekend, just to make that clear. This is a very rare game.
No wonder everyone hates Slippy lol! There goes my 12 hours of sleep *shiver*
i bought this game from nintendo power when i was 10 thinking it was going to be sweet but i only ended up playing it once. just found out this game is going for over 300 bucks on ebay! gotta get to my parents house and frantically search their basement ASAP
@Nintenboi $100 for Earthbound? Wow, it's rarer than I thought.
Lol do those barrel rolls!!
This is fast!
AHHHHHHHHHHHHHH
Slippy scared me. :'(
i still have my jacket too! i think abt selling it
I have mine, I played at a local Venture Store here in Chicago. Although I would like to get the cuffs and waistline re-done. They have lost their elasticity!! Any one know the original manufacturer of the jacket?
@01creativenamehere10 no man keep it, its worth alot
wow, i just finished playing star fox and i had a score of 275,452 this is my best score yet, i will keep trying for more.
That's a lot of sleep.
WHY THE GRAPHICS DIDNT MESS UP?
I got 117258 points first try on this :D
never played starfox before really, well i TRIED at my cousins house back in the days when i was like 4..
and i've played maybe 5minutes non-competition -UKV cartridge on my pal snes for soon 1year ago :P
Last time I tried this, I was at a venture store. Anyone know where there is a list of the winners of this contest?
i remember this
i won once but they didnt have a jacket so they gave me a $100 discount on anything them sent me my jacket
life is good
Last time I tried this with a keyboard, I got... 80,000 points, maybe?
humm...
it look like star fox 64 Oo
That better not be true neyeseek, I just bought my copy of this off of ebay for $266 plus tax, the cheapest one on ebay. If it's a fake ima be pissed! I think the reason y there arent many DK Competition cartridges for sale is because lets face it, the DK competition game is a lot more fun than the star fox one! There was just recently the DK one on ebay, sold for close to $500. I think it just comes down to the fact that the DK one is more fun, who knows though!
O_O LET ME HAVE IT PLEASE??!?!!!!?!?!?
i still have the jacket !!! OG gamers !!!!!!! REPPIN IT !!!now it's cod4 lol but it will alway's be something lol ......who else has a jacket ?
Does anyone know where I can find the ROM for this?
I've never played this version just the original. do you get to choose your routes?
You lucky son of a bitch... I played this once, was very, very different than the original, but with all that extra cartridge data, why couldn't they have made the graphics better.
how did you get the high framerate??
you still have that cartridge?
