This is definitely the best of all the StarFox games. I love the music and the game was put together so well. Despite the old graphics, Andross looks more menacing in this game than in any other. And the music plus the scheme and sound fx just go so well together. This game is legendary already.
I think the StarFox endings are some of the most gratifying and worthwhile I've ever encountered; always made me feel good, but challenged me to play another round. Although it helps that the percentages never really made a whole lot of sense to me. :D Ah, the memories! Thanks for uploading.
0:08 LMFAO! Epic move! I remember the first time I ever got to Venom on route 3, I had no lives left and my wings got chopped up faster than a sliced onion within seconds :(
Good Job man... I remember as a kid I FINALLY made it to that second face of Andross, which I felt came out of nowhere... On the easier levels he only had one face and that was it... I make it to this second face down to my last life... ... ... ... ... And he beats me :-( Happy to see your video man... Again, from gamer to gamer, Good job..!
Holy balls you went beast mode on Andross after he brought you down to your last hit. Kudos! Love this game btw it's a true classic. I wish they would make another Star Fox game as good as this and 64 :S
Wow i've never seen that bull face! then again, i've never tried any path except 1..i cant beat the second level on path 2, and i've played this game since i was a little kid! one day i need to attempt it. also, i love the music that plays during the Venom mini boss, its so catchy to me for some reason.
Ooh I've only beat the 3rd path once when I was digging up my old SNES games I never completely finished. This and Mario Bros. Lost Levels were really difficult! Great job!
he went through the "Blackhole" level in the Asteroid Belt 1 level. When you do that, you never complete the level so you don't get scored on that level. Blackhole is labeled as "Stage 3" and its merely a warp level and you don't get scored in that level either, so the end result is a - - displayed in the final total
The music they used for the Venom stage was similar, if not the same tune, used for the Star Fox stage in SSB, which I think originated in Star Fox 64.
wow proness. I wish I was that good. Just yesterday, I managed to get to stage 7 on route 1 and i died on the boss by a laser XD. I also find it funny about the Great Commander's weapon being "Iron Balls"
Makes you appreciate just how much this pushed the SNES's capabilities. On the actual console, there are significant frame drops to make the game work. It's much more easy to see during the descent into the final boss on an SNES compared to this video.
It's not the SNES's fault in this case. The SuperFX chip in the original Starfox ran at about half the clockspeed it was supposed to, while emulators emulate the chip at full speed. You can get the same results on a stock SNES by swapping in a SFX2 chip instead.
this game for me, was a glimpse of what was to come, the first game i ever played with "3d" deep graphics, and voice over, the first game ever of the 5th generation era(and on my personal opinion the one we are still in) was born in the 4th 2D gen, the generation also that saved the video game history as a whole and 5th which saw its expansion and turned it into a pilar of the economy , and Starfox was part of the 2.
I just beat this game on hard mode and when I was fighting Andross's Devil Horned form. I lost one of my wings and only had the puny blaster you start with. Then I was running low on shield and I just kept barrel rolling and blasting hoping to God I won't die because I had no lives left. Then I finally shot An dross down.... I survived o. zero lives, puny blaster, one wing, and no shield. Not fucking kidding...
I can't believe that they had voices back on the SNES! That's really neat. Anyone else think that it sounds like Falco says "we can't wait forever"? This level (and a lot of the game) looks like a geometrical NIGHTMARE!!
OMG, youre really good. I remember each time i got to Venom Base 3, It was almost impossible for me to kill Great Comander. And sometime i spend 20 mintues at only that battle!!
The second-to-last boss should change his name to the "Gone Commander" Your definition of "pretty good" must be my definition of "masterful." It could practically be Fox McCloud himself! I didn't think anyone would be this good, and I bet I could literally say you're 10 times better on your worst day than I ever was on my best! If the Star Fox Team really exists then they'd better sign you up, because I'm convinced I just saw what an ace can do!
i think they used the other music on the venom stage coz they may have had a diffirent tune for venom on the other games. i should maybe check out venom on lylat wars or starfox adventures coz im not really sure.
Wait! In 4:17, I didn't get that face when I fight with Andross!! O_O The only face he shown was the default one. Weird. This one looks like a devil or something! I wonder how did you get it?! Anyway I like ending. Where Fox & co. is teaming up and preparing to take off back home. It reminds me off a movie or something. Also the credits theme and the introduction of the characters you have killed - those are a nice ending credits =).
One time I was doing this and those walls with the arrows I shot it so it would avoid me but I recently saved Slippy and he shot it the other way and it nailed me. That stupid toad. >
I gotta try that out. I think my friend told me that star fox without framerate is nearly impossible because of reflexes the lag gives you. Interesting how the game and music was created to fit the lag.
Holy shit. Are you on the hardest difficulty? The one where you start from Corneria in the afternoon? If so then you are my idol. I've been trying to do this almost my whole life. Also how come this game has barely any frame rate issues on this video?
I know that, but it still runs slower than 60 fps. i think thats the only way i got 100% on the entire level 1, I still want a faster, harder challenge! Is there a certain version of ZSNES to use?
Same. Playing this game on the SNES was better. I miss the day I stood at the demo case playing all through the first path... I think I got to space armada or venom surface before my parents pulled me away. >.>
I HATED the Great Commander, but that DI-DE-dun-dun-da-du-dun-dun-du-du-du-dun-du-du-dun-dun-dun-dun-dun-du-du-dun-dun-dun-dun-dun-du-du-dun-dun-dun-dun!! part is auwsom!!!
This, this is the only Star Fox game I like. First they canceled Star Fox 2, then they made the arwings into stubby like toys, then they just got downright silly. This level is easier if you stay more towards the center, I think. It always frustrated me how that last enemy before the boss is completely out of range.

This video is awesome my son LOVES the starfox series and he watches videos like these all the time so heads up people
Those clouds in the background stare into my soul.
Good Job man...

Happy to see your video man... Again, from gamer to gamer, Good job..!
watching this one again and again reminds me of my early years! One of the best SNES games!
Love the end credit music.
Whoa, so THIS was the true path. I had no idea that Andross' face changed shape. Thanks for uploading!
Holy balls you went beast mode on Andross after he brought you down to your last hit. Kudos! Love this game btw it's a true classic. I wish they would make another Star Fox game as good as this and 64 :S
Well, they DID make a Star Fox 64 3D for the 3DS.... that game was good.
Wow i've never seen that bull face! then again, i've never tried any path except 1..i cant beat the second level on path 2, and i've played this game since i was a little kid! one day i need to attempt it. also, i love the music that plays during the Venom mini boss, its so catchy to me for some reason.

its funny how the super smash bros games says that the corneria stage's music isnt that at all, its just Venom
Fuck, I've hated that for 20 years.
Love how demonic Andross' face looks the 2nd time around.
he went through the "Blackhole" level in the Asteroid Belt 1 level. When you do that, you never complete the level so you don't get scored on that level. 11yrs later and your video is still on UA-cam congratulations on a job well done
Lol. I love the sound effects.
wow proness. I wish I was that good. Just yesterday, I managed to get to stage 7 on route 1 and i died on the boss by a laser XD. I also find it funny about the Great Commander's weapon being "Iron Balls"
2:01 Great Commander
I know nothing of star fox and its games and whatever fandom it probably has, but I liked this video
Yes. Without question.
While TheNewerGuy may be a good player, I can't see anything extraordinary and off the scales so it deserves praise like that.
Stage 1: 100%
Stage 2: ---%
Stage 3: ---%
Stage 4: 100%
Stage 5: 96%
Stage 6: 95%
Stage 7: 95%
You used The Awesome Black Hole, didn't you?
Who wouldn't? It's awesome.
Makes you appreciate just how much this pushed the SNES's capabilities. On the actual console, there are significant frame drops to make the game work. It's much more easy to see during the descent into the final boss on an SNES compared to this video.

"Name - Andross....." Basically Nintendo's way of saying "as if we have to tell you."
Awesome, I suck at the SNES game. This always inspires me to try and get better
this game for me, was a glimpse of what was to come, the first game i ever played with "3d" deep graphics, and voice over, the first game ever of the 5th generation era(and on my personal opinion the one we are still in) was born in the 4th 2D gen, the generation also that saved the video game history as a whole and 5th which saw its expansion and turned it into a pilar of the economy , and Starfox was part of the 2.
Great Commander was a pain.
never ceases to amaze me..
Wow you handled Andross quite nicely!
the second form of andross scares me
I just beat this game on hard mode and when I was fighting Andross's Devil Horned form. I lost one of my wings and only had the puny blaster you start with. haha Awesome! I just beat this myself with 0 lives left and just a sliver of life. This game was pretty epic.
God, I hate the Great Commander. He's a pain in the ass for me. I don't know his weakness.
I've beaten the entire route 3 before, and I must say, you did a very good job here. Sector Z is my least favorite in the entire game. :(
I can't believe that they had voices back on the SNES!
Wow I played this game when it came out, so young. This game was brutal!
I could never do venom at that level of difficulty.
Nice run^^
The second-to-last boss should change his name to the "Gone Commander"
Your definition of "pretty good" must be my definition of "masterful." It could practically be Fox McCloud himself! I didn't think anyone would be this good, and I bet I could literally say you're 10 times better on your worst day than I ever was on my best! If the Star Fox Team really exists then they'd better sign you up, because I'm convinced I just saw what an ace can do!
i love this version
Thanks.
Haha, this game was awesome! Makes me nostalgic lol.
Well played my good friend. well played ^_^
i think they used the other music on the venom stage coz they may have had a diffirent tune for venom on the other games. i should maybe check out venom on lylat wars or starfox adventures coz im not really sure.
To this day I still consider beating Level 3 on this game to be in my top 5 gaming accomplishments.
I recognize that music from SSBM! Why didn't they use that music for the Venom stage? Seriously, it would have made a whole lot more sense!
no they used tht music for the corneria stage plus part of it on SSBM sounded like the map music.
I have this game on the SNES and as a rom on zsnes. My zsnes rom sucks though (v1.0) , does anyone know where you can get one that isn't glitchy.
Never mind my post I fixed my rom issue. But what are you using (emu) to be able to dial in a specific frame rate.
THe SNES version is alot harder than the N64 version.
if they did put this in the wii shopping channel, this wouldnt be a memory anymore...
BUT WHO THE HELL CARES, 1 wanna play it so badly!!!!!
Holy shit that was fucking awesome!!! Killed it!
What?! What are you talking about. I think you're a little confused about what I'm talking about. "Venom stage" I ment the stage in SSBM.
What emulator are you using that you can adjust the frame rate to a specific setting.
is it me or does the beginning boss seems just like that ship boss in starfox 64 on the level zoness
Did you only have Slippy left?
Oh god... took me three years to beat Starfox SNES on all three difficulties. I always died at the Great Commander.
yea this brings back my memories... too bad they didnt put it on the wii shop channel :'(
Yeah, I know that. I'm saying why DIDN'T they use it for the Venom stage.
Dude, you gotta tell me what the hell you're using to record the audio and video. I can't figure it out!
I just said I want to know how you recorded the audio and video, I never said I wanted to play this game.
One time I was doing this and those walls with the arrows I shot it so it would avoid me but I recently saved Slippy and he shot it the other way and it nailed me. That stupid toad. >
i won't forget facing this andross for the first time "sooo from Ape to bull, ok..."
That looks hard :O
you gotta appreciate this game it's the only one slippy doesn't talk
Job well done!
This is the main music in Corneria on SSB Melee. But that game has venom as a stage, makes me wonder why they didn’t have this music be on that stage.
how did you get from level 1 to level 3?
Lol i love the first part
*looks at the middle*
o.O Fuck that!!
*flies to the left*
When I was 10, this level had my heart racin the first time i got here! Intense!
@AJF786 In Europe he's also called Andross
Hmm, the boss sure looks familiar.. oh yeah
OBEY THE WALRUS
I know that, but it still runs slower than 60 fps. i think thats the only way i got 100% on the entire level 1, I still want a faster, harder challenge! Is there a certain version of ZSNES to use?
In fact you have this demon's head ONLY if you get the route 3 : the most difficult route of the game. Maybe have you just done the route 1 and 2 :)
How did you get Starfox to run at 60 Fps during the gameplay? Im just Curious because its usually SLOW.
0:16 Big fun
I never could beat Venom 1, the final boss was just too hard for me
dud is slippy ur only person alive? lmfao he gets in trouble every 2 seconds its fucking hilarious
Same. Playing this game on the SNES was better. I miss the day I stood at the demo case playing all through the first path... I think I got to space armada or venom surface before my parents pulled me away. >.>
This game ROCKS.
I suppose it uses an advanced mass driver to launch them. ;p
this is very well played. cuz 1st of all its the hardest sf game and its on an emulator so that means ur probably using a keyboard ur very good.
I HATED the Great Commander, but that DI-DE-dun-dun-da-du-dun-dun-du-du-du-dun-du-du-dun-dun-dun-dun-dun-du-du-dun-dun-dun-dun-dun-du-du-dun-dun-dun-dun!! part is auwsom!!!
Okay, you're pretty good but just how do you put the audio and video onto windows movie maker?
Cheap or no, that's gonna be my new thing.
Usually, I just hit the retros and let the pillars move before I reach them....
Wham! Andross cube!
Wow this game changed a helluvalot when viewing its 64 counterpart...
Gotta say that the great commander has balls of steel.... i mean iron.
This, this is the only Star Fox game I like. First they canceled Star Fox 2, then they made the arwings into stubby like toys, then they just got downright silly.
This level is easier if you stay more towards the center, I think. It always frustrated me how that last enemy before the boss is completely out of range.
impressive voice acting
"WEAPON - IRON BALLS"
lulz
Respect your elders.
Slippy Toad: "The elders should be quiet."
He did say that in Japanese. That is the translation of "年寄りは黙ってろよ."
Hey, whoes scarier? 64, this or the new one that is comming out of the Wii U?
64 cause we were young and because brains
is it called star fox venom 3
The most annoying part is when you save them and they linger in your line of fire, absorbing hits intended for enemies.
@localSickened andross is one of the best videogame villan
