No wonder that allocated stuff sits on that shelf. If I read the sign correctly, if you spend $100 in the store, you get the privilege of paying secondary pricing on only one allocated bottle.

Nashville area. Stores like that here are few and far between and take a beating on the local bourbon enthusiast social media pages. Most really rare stuff either stays in the back for good customers or is put in raffles.

I work there and our system is 1 of the fairest around... and the allocated stuff sells every day!!! And you don't have to just spend 100 ... if you buy a store pick you can buy 1 allocated bottle. This helps us always have it in stock. But come in and check us out, we have some more allocated coming in!!!

Id put the small batch or top floor Benchmark for the sauce. With Memphis BBQ, the sweeter, the better! I was going to suggest Willett Pot Still.

If you're using a bourbon to make BBQ sauce, I'd recommend Kurvball if you can get it, and Knob Creek Smoked Maple if you can't.
Not sure if I have seen Kurvball, and haven't had the KC maple, is it super sweet?
@@MajorXero I don't know if I'd call it "super sweet," but it has a sweet smokey flavor. Not briney smokey (like a Scotch), but a sweet smokey flavor. The Kurvball (which I guess is technically a whiskey and not a bourbon - my bad) is a little bit smokier, maybe just a little less sweet (but still nothing like a scotch).

Hehehehehe, none of the window shelf stuff at those prices! It's nice to actually be able to see it in person but no way on the price. The ER 1.75L price wasn't bad, considering they go for double that on the secondary. It ain't worth that obviously.
If you want the big handle of er that is a pretty good deal for our area
I like the Luxardo and Starlino cherries. I've never had the Woodford cherries.

@@MajorXero it’s a wheated bourbon from Green River but to me it tasted better than actual Green River. I haven’t had it since Bardstown bought them so not sure if they changed anything.

I don't get any mint in my Michter's ryes. 200 for the shenks is really not too bad. Excellent bourbon
I also get soap sometimes when I eat cilantro, so I am world famous for my trash palate

@@MajorXero haven’t tried it yet, bourbon junkies ranked it pretty high and the way they described it made it enticing. Maybe next time I go there . I try to limit myself to only spend so much a week on that pleasure lol . Keeps me in the safe zone with the wife

@MajorXero he also had 2 VW23 from an old bottling. Still has 1 but he and his brother drank the other bottle. At the time he only paid 400 each for the 23s.

No r&r is disgusting thats something you'd drink as a kid just because its cheap and drink for affect rather than taste.
