There are 2 belle mead reserves, the 108 "regular" and one that says cask strength and has a written proof.

I had the foresight to grab 8 bottles of Belle Meade after the announcement when they were plentiful. Haven’t seen a bottle on the shelf in about 3 months

It is not. They never found the cask strength. They bought reserve. It’s everywhere

Great video! I found a 750ml of that embossed Maker's Mark Cask Strength at a mom and pop store in Memphis. Bottled 2016-03. 🥃
I've had the J. Rieger Monogram - yeah it's a HARD pass at the $170 price (and that's basically retail). It is a HEAVILY wine finished bourbon. Basically you get the sherry and malt and not in a pleasing scotch way. It's super harsh and play doughy. It's weird. I'm glad I tried it at a bar for $10 just to remove all curiosity. J. Rieger has a 6 year BIB bourbon and Rye and those are decent buys for $50. Problem is they are located 25 minutes from Ben Holladay... and yeah Holladay BIB is now 7 years and it just demolishes J. Rieger. Holladay doesn't have a rye so I guess they win there.

It's probably Willet sourced. Some of those Hirsch single barrels are Indiana MGP. Always pays to read the back label.

The Rye that got me onboard was Knob Creek7 y/o .. Wished we had the Sagamore's to try down here :( And the answer to what is better the 12 or 18 yo Knob Creek the answer is the 15yo knob creek ;) Im assuming its small batch not cask strength.
Found a Belle Meade Reserve at a hole in the wall shop here in town and was only 60$. Snatched it up and LOVE IT!

It's a great bottle! One of our favorites.
That Belle Meade is very good. I have it and the New Nelson Green Briar Reserve and it's no contest. You can taste hints of them being similar but one is like a B+ and the other is a C. The older Belle Meade Reserve with higher proof are actually A+s but I've only ever seen the 108s. You can find them at 40% of the stores around St. Louis and the price ranges from $55-75. I've actually put a big dent into the one I have. Hoped that the Nelson Green Briar was close but it's not so I'll have to head out and get a bunker bottle of it in case there is ever a run on the remainder.
I love it that you have Marshall on this video. I watch, but this is the first time commenting. I agree, I am not a fan of Oak & Eden. Nice deal on the Buffalo Trace. Buffalo Trace makes a very good Old Fashioned. That Peg Leg Porker is really good. Marshall found it! Russell's Reserve Single Barrel Store Pick is soooo good. Everything that Woodinville has put out is gold and worth the price IMO. I do live in the PNW so I could be biased but when I have buddies come over and try their limited stuff they agree with me it's damn good.
I have found six bottles in one store in Kansas. I bought two of them. I paid $49.95 for each bottle.
I could never just walk into an ABC here in North Carolina and find a Blantons sitting on a barrel
Blantons is good but not worth a dime over $85-90

While traveling through Tennessee last month found a store with cases of Belle Meade sitting on the floor. I walked out with a case.

You really should try that RDOne Oak & Maple double finished (brown label) since you love Widow Jane Decadence. It's a fantastic maple finished bourbon, and the double finish makes it have great depth aside from just maple-y sweetness.

Great vid- my old college stomping grounds. I used to live off of Rosewood Dr where my whiskey world consisted of Makers, Beam and Evan Williams. Never any fancier than that but created a good foundation. Cheers to the formative years!

Dant is the truth. It's Heaven Hill distillate. Guys at Justin's House of Bourbon recommended it to the sound guys for Katy Perry when they came in looking for bourbon.

You don't want the Old Dominick BIB - you want to find the Barrel Proof. The BIB is fine but the Barrel Proof are excellent - but impossible to find now. About a week after the Brewzle video I headed over to a store I knew had one hidden on their shelf with Jack Daniels (they are in a bougie neighborhood so no one looks at that shelf). It was still there and I bought it for $65. It's actually great - he got that one right. I'd tried their BIB earlier in the year and thought it was terrible but maybe I tried the Tennessee whiskey and not the bourbon. The one I bought is the bourbon.

Belle Meade Reserve is excellent, I see it I buy it! I found a store with probably 8 bottles on the shelf so can grab it at will. I recommend it folks, it's done for! Nelson Bros Reserve is the replacement and I have yet to A/B them but have seen people who have and it seems the new release doesn't hold up to the BMR.

Definitely give that Stellum Fibonacci Blend a try. It’s a great rye whiskey and now that the price is coming down on them a bit it is even better. One of my favorite ryes. If you didn’t buy that Belfour for $38 I’m going to riot. 😂 It’s a solid bottle that I would buy at $38 every time.
Is Belfour that good? I want to get it to support the Eagle but it's so young.
@@rrkaminski9I really like their Single Barrel options. The main offerings are decent but due to being more on the craft side they are a little overpriced but not horribly. I usually have at least one bottle on the shelf at all times. Yeah I’m probably a bit biased as a Stars fan but Eddie and his family have done a great job with this venture in my opinion.

I read why but can’t remember exactly, but it was along the lines of 2 single barrels combined I believe. Kind of like the Lux Row Double Single Barrel.
Either way, it sat at Big Red Cask in Indy for days and I’m really glad I grabbed.
