It's about time! 🎉 There's no way you're gonna get through your career as a 3D artist without eventually having to add thickness to something lol. The cloth surface is cool but limited so this is a much-welcome addition.
Very informative and a lot of cool setups to explain this great new tool...I couldn't find it at first but it was buried in the C4D 'create' menu...thanks again :-)
yeah - you have to rebuild your custom layouts. They are not updated with C4D Updates. I start with the Standard Layout and then rebuild all of my custom ones and re-save them.
What about the bottom of the object though? Like in the cube example it doesn't add thickness to the bottom face of the cube? Would be useful so you could make glasses.
try using the "standard" layout. I had the same problem and had to rebuild my layouts from that one. Also if you hit SHIFT+C you can type "Thicken" and it will come up.
@@AharonRabinowitz Thank for you help, Aharon. Turns out it was simpler than that. I was trying to use R26 instead of 2023.2. There are a lot of copies of C4D on my machine. Thanks again!

Finally a Shell Modifier :D
Neat, thanks!
excited for this, updated my c4d, but its not there. -edit. if you use a custom layout the tool isn’t added to the icon tray … what ever it’s called

It is ridiculous to see this feature implemented in 2023
It's like the solidify modifier in Blender, but on steroids.
What is called froth boom?
great lesson thanks!!
Why when I add the object to the Thicken effect, my object just disappears rather than adding thickness?
“Breathe the free air again, my friends…”
That was not an ugly vase.
The thicken generator is not in my layout, which is the stock C4D layout. Where is it?
