to me this was a cheat, messy board state, about to cast a goblin, then suddenly stops and very quickly casts LUTS, with a split stack and lands. Quickly after the cast looking at the top of the deck after the cast. Yea this was a 100% cheat. At lease a game loss should of been given. This person did win the whole tourney. This took top spot on this tourney. This was also discovered when it happened from what I've heard too and was allowed to continue.
i know that Andrea Mengucci cried to his teammate to concede a game a few years ago, because had they gone to time and drawn they would have both been eliminated, is that cheating?
If the judges thought it was an acident they chould have reseat the game state to that turn and had both shuffle there decks and then continued and I whould have been fine with that.
@@kintsuki99 the problem is that these streamed tourneys the hype up these players so much that the opponents get intimidated. They are "pros" so theres noooooo way they are cheating at all. The thing that gets average everyday players upset is that if they pulled this bs the rules would be enforced. As much as i cant stand the guy Tobias Hunt for scg usually calls people out while in mid casting if they mess up and tries to stop the match.
You are absolutely correct. Why would they do anything about the cheating? The player is a walking virtue signal from the company. Thank you DesolatorMagic for speaking the honest truth.
3:26 - look at this hesitation before the more than obvious play of playing light up the stage if one weren't under frenzy. That moment is the conscious decision to cheat when taking into account the likelihood of getting away with it given factors.
THANK YOU for being honest about the trans nonsense. So many people with other issues are given the diagnosis of living in the wrongsex body to explain away their problems... Also, even if you there is science someday showing that some people have a truck engine in a car frame so to speak, or the other way around, the best thing for those folks to do is learn to accept the pros and cons of their mismatched pairing, rather than pretending we can paint the outside and suddenly s/he will drive differently.
Let’s be honest. 1: HE is playing red, there is not much thinking evolved. 2: After he cast experimental frenzy he has no reason to be holding his hand, it should be face down on the table.
Watching the clip, you can see the weirdo making all kinds of furtive gestures before dropping Light Up the Stage. He looks like he's dealing blackjack, for god's sake! His hands are all over the table, picking up lands and moving them around, then picking up his hand again, then peeking at his top card (legal), then moving his lands back and forth like three times before quickly snatching the Light Up from his hand and "casting" it. This is absurd, and so blatant... but I can't say I'm surprised. The people who seem to drive this community are the snowflakes who say "MTGA shouldn't have a chat function, even with block function, because people are too toxic and might say mean things!"
As a control and burn player I'd say both r pretty damn similar at certain situations on when and when not to cast something lol... They both take skill to play. But burn is easier to pilot in my experience.
On an interesting note about your friend with diabetes.... At a major event with a judge staff you are 100% aloud to call a judge in the middle of a match or between games during around to request time to take care of your medical needs. This also means you can 100% also ask for a time extension for the time taken to grab some candy or inject insulin. A major tournament environment should be a fun experience to play high level magic, and it’s the judge staff’s job to facilitate that. So for future knowledge, if you have a medical condition that requires you take breaks from play, talk with your tournament judges before the tournament or between rounds, they will 100% help you in any way. Keep making great videos Des!
WATCHING the cards on the field, she cheated. . . you clearly see her reach ACROSS the field of drawn cards to her hand and CLEARLY watch her put it into the cast from drawn pile. . . that is 2 committed actions.
Hey, Des - you need to know about this. So on the off-chance you don’t already: Kirsty McIntyre announced on twitter that the judge program is changing to a subscription model. Full announcement tomorrow, but you will now have to pay. To go to Judge Academy. To be a judge for WotC.
im very not pc (politically correct) and i support that type of individual as a person but not their choices and i think you made some very good points here des thank you.
I'm the same way if someone is trans or whatever they can identify themselves how ever THEY WANT... But if u were born and girl ur a girl to me same as if born a man ur a man too me... That's not disrespectful that's just life u don't have to agree with someone else's decision.
I have played only a handful of MTG games with friends, pre build decks, and for the most part enjoyed it but I have done many sleight of hand tricks. I learned to be deliberate and clean with my actions, one thing at a time playing MTG but trick with quick hand motions or distracting movement. What he did was a magic show with all the flurry of crossing hands and distracting movement looking partially like a casino dealer with a quick flash of the hands in their then back to the hand show to make a move to get an illegal move into play. Winning means more than fair play to too many and that ruins games for everyone! EDIT: I made my comment around 6:50 when I paused to type then got the same narrative in a little more colorful language!
I was wondering how the hell Aaron even outed that Lyra since that's usually a gg on to the next round if you don't have the double burn removal on the spot.
"everything in this video is opinionated for legal reasons. Opinions based heavily on facts. Lots of facts. Mountains of facts support this opinion of mine."
Should have been disqualified. This is why some people shouldn't be in the judge program anymore. That board state is ridiculous I would have stopped the match purely for this individual could clean up its board and make it understandable. Also this individual kept fucking with their lands by tapping, letting there hands come off those lands and then untap them multiple time. That is warning worthy alone.
Even if its a mistake that should not mean its just glossed over. when a price money is on the line the result should be same as if it is intentional. Warning/DC etc.
appreciate your take on this. I have heard a lot of comments and many are afraid to call aaron out for what this is , at best a very very poorly maintained game state. But in all honesty this is cheating at its finest using a poorly maintained board as a back door to deny it
The super fast play is really suspect. I'm disappointed by Bearitch, moreso as I played in Biloxi with him years ago. I know he is capable of playing correctly, and to utterly ignore Frenzy's no hand rule is insulting. Maybe Aaron should pursue a career as a stage magician.
The hand movements really give away that this was intentional. He was grabbing cards from all over the damned table, moving them around, tapping and untapping, and then suddenly WHAM snatches LUtS from his hand and plays it. An old sleight of hand trick- get everyone focused on what you're doing with your hands, almost like hypnotizing (more like distracting) and then make your dirty move. It should also be noted that about 1 minute after the clip presented in this video, **HE CASTS ANOTHER LIGHT UP THE STAGE FROM HIS FUCKING HAND.** This is obscenely egregious, and there is no excusing it, especially not from a "professional" player. These are mistakes someone makes at FNM, and gets corrected for. Done in real competition, it's a DQ, and Des is absolutely right- this guy is taking advantage of his "protected status" and WOTC's bizarre fetish for homosexuals/mentally ill people in order to get away with this. This is disgusting on so many levels. WOTC needs to clean house and hire 100% new staff who are not politically motivated. That's the problem ultimately- I JUST WANT TO PLAY A FUN CARD GAME. But no- I have to hear about how great mentally ill homosexuals are, and be lectured on how awful I am for having White skin and enjoying the company of women.
Happened to me I was at a PTQ years ago and I was against a POC and they "misplayed" and it would have won them the game and match. The judges told me 'No thats correct' even though it was blatantly wrong. Settle the Wreckage only exiles attacking creatures not tapped creatures that are not attacking.
How come opponents never call this shit out? Is it a penalty or something? Why couldn't Kessler just be like, uh, you can't cast that from your hand dude.
I recently started watching card trick videos, and that footage looks distinctly like the sleight of hand being taught in those videos. Not as well done, mind you, or I wouldn't have been able to spot it. Aaron clearly moved lands in front of his hand while fudging the card from the top of his library into his hand and a LUTS from hand into play. #DQ #NotDairyQueen
Hey Desolator, Wizards has seemingly removed the possibility to buy levels for the Mastery pass. BUT, at least at the moment of sending this comment, every time you open the game and open the Mastery Pass, you will see a button on the place where you previously bought the levels. It reads 0000 Gems. This button will dissappear after 1 or 2 seconds but if you click it before that, you gain a chance to buy the levels using your Gems. Do you think this is just a bug or is Wizard secretly still selling Levels for the wales who remember where the button originally was?
Not sure if Aaron did it on accident, looking at the top of the library is enough to know that you can't cast stuff from your hand. And if the top card was useless then of course Aaron would want to somehow get out of that trap by cheating out a light up the stage. And if Aaron used their sexuality/gender/whatever as a shield, then that'll just bring down that group's reputation. The second someone plays experimental frenzy they pretty much put their hand to the side to a point where they'd not cast spells. And again if they did try to cast stuff from their hand, then they wouldn't be looking at the top of their library.
I get that its a tournament and they have been playing all day... But... Frenzy has been in standard for awhile now and everyone knows what it does. I believe he knew exactly what he was doing and cheated. His opponent should have also caught it and called the judge.
This is horrendous. There is no excuse, there is simply no way a player gets to that level of play in a tourny and doesn't know how his deck works, how key cards in it work. Shame on WotC, shame on this player, shame on the judges at the event. Pro MTG is a sham, and will remain so while WotC let's the integrity of the game keep sliding down the slope.
I dont get how stuff like this is let go. Like if your match is live streamed you should have a judge watching at all times to prevent these 'mistakes' Also i know there was a lot of pile moving but kessler should have cought this too. When someone plays frenzy you ask how many cards are in hand and any time that number changes you call a judge and get them out of the tournament. Also the speed at wich Aaron played the frenzy and drew the cards was quite fast. Opponent has open mana he/she should be asking for responces
Of course he knew what he was doing. I'm sure he did it several other times that day. This is not an accident. I know players just like this and have seen it happen for 25 years. What I haven't seen happen, is WOTC allowing this win to still be called a win. Look at literally every single other episode of this happening prior. Every single person who had an event like this occur. (Some of which I truly believe to be mistakes) has had their record tarnished and wins revoked. As well as any other rewards or titles they have held. Suddenly this one person ( who blatantly cheated, I do not believe it was a mistake) goes unpunished for it... If that's not inherit bias then I don't know what is. As a long time player.. This sickens me.
She cheated period. She and the other player should have been stopped immediately and both given a warning. Unfortunately there's nothing to do now it's not ban worthy so she just gets away with it. But it looks bad on Scg and Magic but they don't care.
I hate when people unnecessarily touch every single card they own... stop picking up ur flippen deck! I realize this is looped, but yeah it pisses me off.
I support the lgbtq thing, but I do not agree with how people give them everything. But it is a sensitive topic for people to deal with, idk why I would face it head on. Nice video btw
dunno... this look intentional to me. looking at the top of the library seeing a mountain then casting the card from your hand... after checking experimental frenzy's effect? while having your hand face down on the table to remind you that it's not playable? and tapping the mana 2 or 3 times to see if the opponent noticed you do something wrong? there are some things I can understand as misplays but if you have 4 different fail safes against this misplay one after another and you go on with it - you did it intentionally. I would misplay in many cases but if I have some kind of reminder for card effects I will notice them immediately. P.S can we get another Giant Leaders video? or a new MTG variant video?
So Tom also is in the wrong though Des he should have pointed out that frenzy only allows you to cast from the top, in which at that time he should have called a judge and ask to have the board state checked because the judge more than likely would have backed the game up or call the game
Hey Des, thanks for what you're doing, I'm glad that someone represents my opinions and intenterests. Btw, have you seen the video with prof and command zone doing talk show? Because when they said anything about the "pro league" they immediately said something like I don't hate trans... Blah blah.. it's so sad, that you can't say anything against the madness without being kicked in the ass by Wotc
In my best three dog voice " keep fighting the good fight" very fair assessment. Things like this discourage soo many people from even going to scg/chb events. Wheres the accountability? What happened to sportsmanship? Ps. Burn that hat!
to me this was a cheat, messy board state, about to cast a goblin, then suddenly stops and very quickly casts LUTS, with a split stack and lands. i know that Andrea Mengucci cried to his teammate to concede a game a few years ago, because had they gone to time and drawn they would have both been eliminated, is that cheating?
IMO: being so egregiously disorganized is 100% a method of cheating in its own right, this rat deserves no benefit of doubt.
If the judges thought it was an acident they chould have reseat the game state to that turn and had both shuffle there decks and then continued and I whould have been fine with that.
Seriously people playing should start paying mpew attention to what is happening in the game.
@@kintsuki99 the problem is that these streamed tourneys the hype up these players so much that the opponents get intimidated. They are "pros" so theres noooooo way they are cheating at all. Hmm, a Mono Red Player casting the best card in their deck when they shouldn't have? Hmmmmmmmmmmmm
Czzy hmmmmmm
Hmmmmmm
Wow jeez, that's such an egregious cheat. Even if it was an accident, that should have been a DQ for that game AT LEAST.
You are absolutely correct. Why would they do anything about the cheating? The player is a walking virtue signal from the company. Thank you DesolatorMagic for speaking the honest truth.
I’m so glad you finally covered this. I feel like nothing would be able to get done with out a major outlet reporting on it.
3:26 - look at this hesitation before the more than obvious play of playing light up the stage if one weren't under frenzy. That moment is the conscious decision to cheat when taking into account the likelihood of getting away with it given factors.
Am I the only one who thought this was the longest experimental frenzy turn ever before I realized the footage was looping? 😅
I Found out by reading your post......lol
From what I understand, Aaron goes on to play yet another Light up the Stage from hand just a bit later in this same turn.
Forgot to mention within 30 seconds of that, Aaron cast a SECOND Light Up the Stage from hand....going on to win the tournament
Disgraceful
Max Richard I didn’t know he cast two Light up the stage one would be considered a warning the second one yeah it’s a game lost
THANK YOU for being honest about the trans nonsense.

Funny thing is any other mental disorder is correctly classified as a disorder and treated as such.
discrimination against any group is fucked. great vid, keep exposing cheaters.
He’s not trans. He’s a narcissist.
Let’s be honest.
1: HE is playing red, there is not much thinking evolved.
2: After he cast experimental frenzy he has no reason to be holding his hand, it should be face down on the table.

Honestly don’t like your ideas about formats/bans/what deck should be played, but I’m glad you call people out on the cheating, keep it up
Took me 5 whole minutes to figure out the clip was looping. Nice.
Not pandering to these people is the best way to help them!
yea thats a cheat and WOTC/Magic giving a player a free pass when they should have Dqed the player
He looks kinda gay
So i wouldnt be surprised if they gave him a free pass cause of that
On an interesting note about your friend with diabetes.... At a major event with a judge staff you are 100% aloud to call a judge in the middle of a match or between games during around to request time to take care of your medical needs.

Aaron also played a mountain from hand allowing to start this chain reaction.
Pro mtg players is a bunch of cheaters
WATCHING the cards on the field, she cheated. . . you clearly see her reach ACROSS the field of drawn cards to her hand and CLEARLY watch her put it into the cast from drawn pile. . . that is 2 committed actions.

best exapmle of "pros get caught, cheaters dont" judges turn a blind eye as that investigate the strate guy there
100% with you been playing for fucking 14 years and after you play games like this with this stress level you dont forget your own cards. Fuck that
I have played only a handful of MTG games with friends, pre build decks, and for the most part enjoyed it but I have done many sleight of hand tricks. Easy mistake or not, where were the judges? How often can these mistakes happen at high stakes matches!?
He's a friend with the judges. So it's all cool.
This isn't a casual game. Accident or not it's still cheating and some sort of punishment should be enacted.
Thank you for taking a stand that is not popular of transgender.
If the arena shuffler wasn't clearly rigged I'd want to have all tournaments on arena so obvious cheats are no longer possible
Why are there 2 land piles talk about being confusing.
why say its not about the person when spent the last almost 3 minutes making it about the person?
2:42 played a card from hand
It looks like that cheater spilled his cards on the table and forgot to pick them up …
Should have been disqualified. This is why some people shouldn't be in the judge program anymore. I agree with the using correct pronouns, I won't rub there nose in it but I won't indulge in mental illness.
appreciate your take on this. I have heard a lot of comments and many are afraid to call aaron out for what this is , at best a very very poorly maintained game state. But in all honesty this is cheating at its finest using a poorly maintained board as a back door to deny it

Cheating is cheating regardless of gender or w.e this guy definately cheated should be reprimanded
so. . . just ANOTHER reason I will NOT attempt to go above casual play.
I guess he should give some price money to his victim and say something like apology. The main question is tho what will wizards say aloud about this.
WotC: We don't condone body shaming and will punish anyone found to be body shaming ...just ignore "Fat Ass" from Unglued though.
It kind of makes sense they'd size with sexual minorities because Wizards of the Coast's main franchises (Magic and DnD) are about living a fantasy.
Well, after that intro I feel obligated to say it's my opinion that your opinion is opinionatedly opinionated!
I approve!
If is was an honest mistake sure, however if it was cheating. A cheater can come in all shapes and sizes.
How come opponents never call this shit out? Is it a penalty or something? Why couldn't Kessler just be like, uh, you can't cast that from your hand dude.
Tf is going on on that board
This was definitely a cheat
I recently started watching card trick videos, and that footage looks distinctly like the sleight of hand being taught in those videos. Wait, can you do another lgs from hell from the stories from your reliable sources you said near the end of the video
Not sure if Aaron did it on accident, looking at the top of the library is enough to know that you can't cast stuff from your hand. Aaron would have won anyway. Ember hauler x2 and fanatical firebrand would take out the lura
ngl. your videos make me so happy.
Honestly, he should have set his hand away and not looked at it.
I get that its a tournament and they have been playing all day... But... Frenzy has been in standard for awhile now and everyone knows what it does. I believe he knew exactly what he was doing and cheated. His opponent should have also caught it and called the judge.
Wait, wait, wait, someone cheated in a mtg tourny?! I don’t believe it!!
I wonder if arron is okay with being called him ?
Just listening to your rants is entertaining. Have a good day.
I don't understand what he did through the repeat video but I love the rant
There was still a Tibalt stopping the life gain, so idk if that could have changed the result
Why does that dude keep untapping his three mountains?
Definitely cheating... casts the spell then looks at the top classic cheating
That is a cheat 100%. They should strip Aaron of their title.
I dont get how stuff like this is let go.
Like if your match is live streamed you should have a judge watching at all times to prevent these 'mistakes'
Also i know there was a lot of pile moving but kessler should have cought this too.

She cheated period. She and the other player should have been stopped immediately and both given a warning. Unfortunately there's nothing to do now it's not ban worthy so she just gets away with it. But it looks bad on Scg and Magic but they don't care.
youd think Aaron would not use a dead name if it was make to female
Lol if you can call Calvin broadus jr, the person, snoop dogg because he asks you to, it shouldnt be too hard to call anyone by what they prefer
Why’d your diabetic friend drop out instead of just conceding the match so they would be 6-1
I hate when people unnecessarily touch every single card they own... stop picking up ur flippen deck! I realize this is looped, but yeah it pisses me off.
I support the lgbtq thing, but I do not agree with how people give them everything. But it is a sensitive topic for people to deal with, idk why I would face it head on. Nice video btw
Thats not an honest mistake you dont forget that ever
Ideology and a social narrative is more important than rules
dunno... this look intentional to me.
looking at the top of the library seeing a mountain then casting the card from your hand... after checking experimental frenzy's effect? while having your hand face down on the table to remind you that it's not playable? and tapping the mana 2 or 3 times to see if the opponent noticed you do something wrong? there are some things I can understand as misplays but if you have 4 different fail safes against this misplay one after another and you go on with it - you did it intentionally.
I would misplay in many cases but if I have some kind of reminder for card effects I will notice them immediately.
P.S can we get another Giant Leaders video? or a new MTG variant video?
Knowing you your probally right
Freaking love this sir, so true
So Tom also is in the wrong though Des he should have pointed out that frenzy only allows you to cast from the top, in which at that time he should have called a judge and ask to have the board state checked because the judge more than likely would have backed the game up or call the game
Wow ur vids r fricking awesome!
Thanks! I reeeeally don't like cheaters.
This sucks..... thanks for let others know, so i can be aware if someone at my fnm wants to cheat this way
Sloppy board state should dq you, being neat and organized when you have 100 cards on the bf should be required, clean that mess up
Hey Des, thanks for what you're doing, I'm glad that someone represents my opinions and intenterests. Btw, have you seen the video with prof and command zone doing talk show? Because when they said anything about the "pro league" they immediately said something like I don't hate trans... Blah blah.. it's so sad, that you can't say anything against the madness without being kicked in the ass by Wotc
cheating???
IMPOSSIBLE

What happened to sportsmanship?
Ps. Burn that hat!
That’s some bullshit cheating for sure.

Why can't I see how many people like this vid
The Dude: That's just like... your opinion man.
