I have this car and I completely agree with you, very fun to drive! ;) I have one of the first 2gen Leaf in Norway, bought in April 2018, and had absolutely no trouble with it at all ;) Will probably miss it after I trade it in to Ariya next summer.
Great review and it looked like a lot of fun. Only downside is it uses the aging CHAdeMO port rather than the new CCS. Roadtripping might prove difficult since stations are switching over.
Asked a price for Nissan Leaf E+Tekna. 42 000€ Price included winter tiers, propilot, double colors which totals ~3k Now the question is do I want to pay 500€ monthly 😆 already spending like 350€ more or less for old Diesel and I would ha e some fixing to do. 1/2 year wait for the car 😞 Only question I was left with is can you install a tow hook in nissan leaf? If yes it probably would be the tiebraker.
Nice review. Good to see someone have fun in an EV other than putting your passenger in a neck brace ... As I understand it, the 62Kw battery is 3-cells in parallel. All the lesser batteries are 2-cells in parallel. So the big battery can spread charging and demand loads better for less thermal reaction. I suppose quick charging can jack up temps ... But at home charging should let the 62Kw battery last a decade or more 😃
Did you find pedestrians a little tougher to see with those massive D-pillars? That was a huge gripe I had about a '06 Civic I used to drive. I'm driving a Subaru now (wrx) & I don't think I could abandon the fish-bowl visibility.
We typically agree. However, most vehicles are provided by the manufacturers for review, and they typically want to show off their top-of-the-line features as well as they don't want reviewers to complain about a car feeling basic. Sometimes brands have more basic models, like a Jetta Sport we were able to review a few years ago, but in general they're fully loaded.
@DailyMotor I get that the automates want to push the top of the line models. How helpful then is your review to the viewer unless you review both top of the line and base models. The purpose of choosing this vehicle is to be budget conscious. If the base models provide the same functionality, ride quality, and safety without the added fluff factor; inform us about this. Otherwise, you become an advertisement.
Gas is not going anywhere anytime soon, especially in the Gulf of Mexico area, I’m in the state of Louisiana ‘a hurricane just devastated our state, if we had electric cars society would have went completely “mad max” TRUST ME ! Electric was out 4 weeks plus*
I can still charge my Leaf with my natural gas powered whole home 22kW Generac generator when out of power...even when the gas stations ran out of gas during Ida

Muxson has a retrofit CCS for the Leaf and Dala is working on a cheap open source retrofit that anyone will be able to build.
Thank you for taking us on a really nice ride!
You mentioned your Model Y standard range was cheaper then the $43,970 Leaf SL Plus. Did you buy your Model Y used?

Hi Daily Motor! Any possibilities of reviewing the 2022 Kia Stinger GT2?
We're trying! Kia isn't pushing that car too hard, but we're still hoping. Stay tuned!
@@DailyMotor Yep! Hopefully you can review one some day. I heard the bass in the Harmon Kardon sound system is fantastic!

I drive a 2018 Leaf now. I don't see a CD slot in the 2022. Is it behind the display?
How’s the speakers? I’ve noticed nissans have horrible speakers

GREAT NISSAN.
How many miles it will drive in one full charge??
EPA combined estimate for this one is 216 miles.
@@DailyMotor the S+ is 226 miles as it has smaller wheels.
So DM/The Tropher/Winding Roads likes 10 year old Japanese cars with dated interiors?
Can you make a video about auto parking? My wife need a car which can auto park.
Why do auto reviewers always review the top of the line models. Most people would buy for affordability.
Give reviewers on basic and midrange reviews.

@@rickeysmith1067 I fully agree! I'd love to get more time in the volume models.
Let’s talk about the elephant in the room… battery degradation and no active cooling… A fast charge of 50KWh… this thing is a DOG!
Okay Kevin o'Leary
Original leaf looked super unique and interesting. This looks like another shit box.
U sure bro that u ain't talking about urself?
Nobody liked that fugly old leaf lol

Let’s be really… Louisiana is one of the worst states to live in! Get out while your still alive!
Way too biased review.
