- Barnabas and Jeremiah have a difficult conversation about what has happened leading to Josette and Jeremiah's marriage. The duel takes place and the results are very difficult. This episode introduces Reverend Trask who comes to find out who is bewitching the Collins family.

In this Storyline. Reverend Trask is admired and respected by Clarice Blackburns character Abigail Collins. In 1897 where she is Minerva, wife of Gregory Trask she loathes and despises him!!
Ouch! First Josette calls Barnabas a monster, then she tells him he killed the only man she ever loved (Jeremiah). Talk about adding insult to injury.
Vicki, you really shouldn't have ignored Nathan's warning.
It's sad to see what Barnabas and Jeremiah's relationship had come to, after seeing so close they had been the last few weeks. Another casualty to thank Angelique for.
Yes Barnabas finally meets Trask
Now wait a minute. I see no facial injury to Jeremiah after Barnabas killed him, yet the ghost was all bandaged up entire face, like his eye was shot out!
I noticed that also from the first time I watched this storyline back in the 70s. Dan Curtis probably decided after that scene to have the Jeremiah character really look scary.
It ' s a madness the way Josette reacted.

After Angelique used witchcraft and put a spell on both Jeremiah and Josette. The spell doesn't have any long lasting hold on Josette but it does on Jeremiah!!
She said her marriage and life together is a punishment? That wasn't nice!

Abigail was right there was witchcraft, but she was completely wrong about who is doing the witchcraft.
(SPOILER ALERT) Even after Barnabas the vamp told her Angelique was responsible for all the tragedies, Abigail refused to believe him. Tell me who is the bigger fool there?
I don't think Jeremiah's still under the spell. I think he wants to accept his role as Josette's husband. He doesn't feel dislike for her. The two could have had a life together.
No one would believe the "under a spell" story except Abigail, Natalie, and Trask. Vicky has no clue about the spell but will be blamed sonehow.
