- Ben testifies that Angelique is the witch. All are surprised when Angelique enters the courtroom. Angelique tells about Vicki being driven out the Old House when Trask was performing his spell. Later, Vicki tells Peter that she is piecing everything together and thinks that Angelique is the witch.
The truth came out! How sad people who tell truth is the one is called a lier! A DS fan forever!❤

When I saw this for the first time - not in the original run of the show mind you - I was so surprised that this even happened. Angelique who is dead at this point (Barnabas has killed her) and is a ghost is able to come back to life for a few moments and appear as if she's still alive to testify in the trial of Victoria Winters to help sway the jury to get her to be sentenced to death for being a witch. What a mean vicious witch even after she's dead to do this to poor Victoria Winters.
I was right all along...Trask wouldn't know a REAL witch when she's right in front of him...and he even has her testify against an innocent woman!
Poor Ben's worst fear of Angelique coming back has been realized...after burying her, he now sees her show up, alive and breathing in the courtroom! Now his testimony that she was the witch and Vicki is innocent has been thrown out.
Why didn't Peter cross-examine Angelique? I would have. There are all sorts of questions that I would have asked her, like maybe pointing out that she, rather than Vicki, gained more than anyone from the witchcraft, she started out as Josette's maid, then ended up marrying into the richest and most important family in all of Collinsport. No doubt Angelique would have some brilliant answers and explanations at the ready, but I think Peter screwed up by not asking her SOMETHING.
Love the gall of Nathan. He testifies falsely against Vicki and thinks he's obligated to explanations from Ben, who works for the very family whose cousin was badly hurt by his deception. But then again, to Nathan's way of thinking he's a 'good' lieutenant and Ben is a mere servant (and convict to boot). But time will prove that status means nothing, Ben is a far more decent and respectable man than Forbes will ever be.
Nathan says he's offended by Ben's surliness towards him. Again, he's got nerve. What he did to Vicki was beyond offensiveness, his testimony just may have signed her death warrant, of course he could care less by now.
Peter and Victoria were the only 2 that fully believed Ben when he finally named Angelique as the witch, who's unexpected presence made Ben crack up.
Angelique comes in without a sound, that alone is suspicious.

Rev trask and Angelique, two sides of a different coin, yet similar in ways, were both so good at being so bad.
I mean Angelique made that fire happen
This is a good storyline! Is it inspired by some well known piece of literature?
Both jerry lacy and lara Parker were amazing actors at making us dislike the charachetrs (i know there's fans that LOVE angelique though.) May Lara Parker rest in peace. it's a story that lives.on in different ways.
