    About the game
    ----------
    With the help of over 18,000 Kickstarter backers, Narrative Designer Chris Avellone and composer Inon Zur, Owlcat Games is proud to bring you the first isometric computer RPG set in the beloved Pathfinder tabletop universe. Enjoy a classic RPG experience inspired by games like Baldur's Gate, Fallout 1 and 2 and Arcanum. Explore and conquer the Stolen Lands and make them your kingdom!
    Based on our players' feedback and suggestions, this version of the game improves and builds upon the original. This edition includes:
    • numerous gameplay-enriching content additions and dozens of quality-of-life features
    • new abilities and ways to build your character, including a brand-new class
    • new items and weaponry
    • improved balance, especially in the beginning and last two chapters of the game
    • enhanced kingdom management system, both in terms of balance as well as usability and player comfort
    • increased variety of random encounters on the global map
    • thousands of fixes and improvements made since the game's initial release
    Explore the Stolen Lands, a region that has been contested territory for centuries: Hundreds of kingdoms have risen and fallen in these lands, and now it is time for you to make your mark-by building your own kingdom! To do so, you’ll need to survive the harsh wilderness and the threat of rival nations… as well as threats within your own court.
    --
    Customize your character with a wide range of classes and powers including specialized archetypes, powerful arcane and divine spells, choosing from a multitude of class abilities, skills, and feats. Pathfinder allows players to create heroes (or villains) that fit both their individual gameplay styles and their personalities.
    Meet a diverse cast of companions and NPCs, including iconic characters from the Pathfinder setting itself. You’ll need to decide who to trust and who to watch carefully, as each companion has an agenda, alignment, and goals that may differ from yours. Your journey will become their journey, and you’ll help shape their lives both in the moment and well into the future.
    --
    Conquer new regions as claim them as your own, carving your kingdom from the wilderness. While classic dungeon crawling and exploration lie at the heart of this adventure, diplomacy, politics, and kingdom development are also part of the challenge. Choose your allies well, and keep them close while exploring ancient tombs and ruins - and while dealing with politics in your own court.
    Your kingdom is a reflection of your character and your choices throughout the game. It is a living thing shaped by your alignment, your allies, and your ability to lead your people. Not only can your kingdom expand, opening up new territories and allowing you to build new towns and communities, but your capital city will physically change based on your decisions, your policies, and even whom you choose to ally with. As your kingdom grows, a number of factions and neighboring countries will come to you to seek favor-and to test your strength.
    --
    Explore - Conquer - Rule!
    The Pathfinder Roleplaying Game is an evolution of the 3.5 rules set of the world's oldest fantasy roleplaying game, designed by Paizo, Inc using the feedback of tens of thousands of gamers just like you. Whether you’re new to the Pathfinder® universe or you’re a seasoned veteran, Pathfinder: Kingmaker is the CRPG you’ve been waiting for.

    This was a very helpful guide for building a character, as I also chose aasimar as my race and wanted to try out a spellcaster class for once. But I always felt like I was doing something wrong. In my frustration, I put down the game for a little while, but I think I might pick it up again pretty soon.

    Particularly, I preffer the Celestial Bloodline. I find the free spells better overall, good in both defensive and ofensive areas. On top of that, you get wings, which make your character SUPER cool and also give a nice boost to your AC and other buffs. I was using a Wizard in my party in the spellcaster role, but then tried the sorcerer instead. This class will never leave my party again. I don't need all the spells a Wizard have access, but I need the increadible ammount of spell uses of the Sorcerer.

    • @Caledorn
      @Caledorn  2 роки тому +1

      The Celestial Bloodline is an excellent choice indeed!
      As for sorcerer vs wizard... The wizard certainly has more utility in terms of being able to pick and choose different spells for different situations.... But, as you say - no way I am picking up a wizard when I can have a sorcerer as a damage dealer!
      The exception being a Arcanist Brown Fur Transmuter in my party in WOTR. Those are *insane* party buffers!

    Thanks for this. I have been wanting to get this game for years. Full disclosure I have had it sitting in my library for an eternity. I was thinking of going paladin but I always get bored when I create one in other CRPGs. I was than going with Kinsect. I decided to do Sorcerer and this build just seems to fit my playstyle thanks.

    If I ever get to play pathfinder kingmaker I'm going to make a chaotic good Angelkin Aasimar with a undead sorcerer bloodline for my first playthrough just to see how good the undead bloodline sorcerer is in the game

    • @Caledorn
      @Caledorn  4 роки тому +2

      The undead bloodline apparently is really powerful, so that sounds like a very good choice! 😃

    If you use charisma you should get a cleric that has the glory domain which boosts charisma which stacks with all other charisma boosts

    in PK you get to use your companions for quite a lot of the persuasion checks but I think you're right about not all of them

    • @Caledorn
      @Caledorn  4 роки тому

      Yeah, there is some critical conversations where you must have it on your main character if you want the "best outcome". But strictly speaking, it is not a critical skill to have on the main of course. 😄

    I'm curious why most of these sorc builds fall back on crossbows and not just their level 0 cantrips?

    • @jhonrock2386
      @jhonrock2386 2 роки тому +2

      Cuz they suck at the damage department already at early game? Crossbow + Hurricane Arrow + feats & buffs = good damage without exhausting all your spell uses.

    • @Caledorn
      @Caledorn  Рік тому

      I honestly can't answer that - it's been so long since I've played the game now that I would have to watch my own video, and I'd probably find all kinds of things I would do different today - given that I have far more knowledge about the Pathfinder system today. 😊 Adjust stats as per your own desires is my best advice! 😊

    Do you find that spellcasters are a little too strong in this type of games (kingmaker, baldur’s gate and so forth)... I always found that there was always a few optimal builds, and that the others are kinda meh, don’t know what your opinion is?

    • @Caledorn
      @Caledorn  4 роки тому +2

      Yes, and no. In fact, in this specific game there are so many builds that are strong that it's really amazing how they've managed to find some kind of balance with this many classes. The Monk, for instance, is an extremely powerful class to play in this game. Particularly if combined with just 1 level of rogue to get access to sneak attacks (such a character becomes a mean, lean damage machine - often one-shotting any non-boss enemy). The Paladin too is really powerful - although they are a spellcaster, their access to spells are so limited that it's mostly just a few buffs and healing spells. Also the Ranger class is extremely powerful, as you can do some wicked damage with a bow in this game. You'll see how I set up my party later on, when I do unlock more of the companions, and it's surprising what classes are damage powerhouses.
      Now of course I am playing on easy, so it's not that simple to see how powerful certain of the classes actually are (I just want to let the audience see the gameplay and story without having to rely on lots of quicksave/quickloading, which is the idea for playing the game on Easy - the game is long enough in itself without having to add having to redo multiple fights over and over again - I expect this series to have a *lot* of episodes if I am to complete the game) - but the ones I've mentioned above are actually valid choices for playing on Unfair difficulty (where the game gives all NPCs a flat +6 modifier on their Attack Rolls, and a +6 modifier to all saving throws and AC too, so early game is a *real* struggle on that difficulty as it's nigh impossible to hit the enemies...).

    Charisma is the primary attribute for a Sorcerer? I thought it is INT?

    • @Caledorn
      @Caledorn  4 роки тому +5

      Int is for Wizard-type spellcasters. Cha is for Sorcerer-type spellcasters. 😊

    • @Keldrath
      @Keldrath 2 роки тому +1

      It is for sage sorcerer but this is just a base sorcerer with arcane bloodline which is almost the same but it still uses cha like a typical sorc.

  • @FrozenTub3

    Dont you want to start with 20 charisma for the extra spell breakpoint ?

    • @Caledorn
      @Caledorn  4 роки тому

      It depends on the build, and the items you get in game as you progress. This build doesn't strictly need it, as it is more of a mass crowd control build than a typical glass cannon DD Sorc.

    What about friendly fire for some of these spells? How do you mitigate that?

    • @Caledorn
      @Caledorn  4 роки тому

      Carefully 😉 Friendly fire is one of the inherent challenges you need to manage carefully with any area of effect ability. Pausing/using the new turn based combat should help quite a bit 😊

    You said choose 2 spells at spell level 2 yet I can only chose 1 spell. What did I do wrong?

    • @Caledorn
      @Caledorn  2 роки тому +3

      Very likely you did nothing wrong (the only thing I can think of potentially is subclass selection or bloodline mistake) - but the game has goke through many patches since the guide was made, and thus the mechanics may have changed.

    Hi, im so confused starting at 08:59 cause for me these the first thing to choose is Talent, there i also chose point blank shot like you did , then spell focus and bonus talent, but then I have to choose the opposite school twice because the game says that if I want to master one direction I have to give up on the other side. I cant do it the way you do... can you help me out here please?

    • @Caledorn
      @Caledorn  Рік тому

      Did you pick Wizard as your class and not Sorcerer? Opposite schools should not apply to Sorcerer, but does apply to Wizard. That's the only thing I can think of right now, unless there's been some patches to the game changing things..
