- You can buy the shocks for the entire vehicle here: ebay.us/v1au3L
A recommended brand.
Noticeable difference after changing the shocks. Improved ride quality. Not as bumpy/softer bumps and better handling.
Shocks and struts should be replaced every 50,000 to 100,000 miles.
I'm replacing my shocks on my 2011 Audi A4 that has 102,000 miles on it. - Авто та транспорт
You make this look so easy! I have had multiple friends look at my B8 and say nope as soon as they look at those arms at the top of the knuckle and thinking of removal, getting them back in place. After watching this, I am finally going to bite the bullet and do it myself. Thank you!
How did it go? Thinking about doing mine 08 A5
I ordered my front shocks but the springs hold plate seems to be small and not getting to the stop end now car has rise up infront
Videos like this r why i love UA-cam. Whatching This is going to help me prep for a job interview.
Did you get the job?
Thanks for taking the video. Fairly easy job ahead. Well maybe. Lol! This car has seen a lot of salt from winters.
16:18 You don't tighten the control arm bolts until the car's suspension is at ride height. You compress the suspension with a jack under the lower ball joint to where it would be at ride height then tighten. I bet the bushings in those upper control arms failed within a month.
True method. For bushings on suspension period on any car.
Also put the bolts through the wrong sides of those upper control arms always always put them in backwards so that way its an easy job next time u gotta change ur blown out bushings
Nicely done. I think I could handle this job, but it would be at about 1/10th the speed.
Yo you need to vacuum out the leaves from under the wiper tray! You growing a garden? :) Thanks for the video!
I wonder if it’s possible to just remove the strut with lower mount, I put my engine and subframe back into the car but haven’t installed the struts back yet
is the strut bearing only a rubber thing? Could it cause small vibrations and cluck if its bad?
How was the shock so far ? I’m thinking to replace the same too but I never hear about this band before. I have a really bad experience with no name band before. Kinda scared
Don’t buy full built suspension legs like this. There absolutely terrible. Ideally I’d hoped he was gonna change the shock for oe
Can you help me that front complete shocks part number for an Audi A4 B8 sedan 2009 model
Why did you replaced the strut ?
Do the same suspension parts fit on the allroad chassis
thanks alot
What is the tool called that you used to spread open the lower part of the strut?
a spreader!
Decent video. You must be in dry climate as that pinch bolt looked too easy. Also I noticed you ordered a pre-assembled strut..those are really poor quality.
If im reading the manual of my a4 2014 (page: 4685) you need to replace almost all nuts and bolts for this job :/ . But thanks for the video anyway
18.0.8 you put the bolt from outside ..
3:40
This is the equivalent of a silent movie, there is little to no information here.. although a good presentation of the work required.. but it doesn’t apply to anyone east of the Rockies and north of Tennessee for a 10 yr old car with 100k on it .. that upper pinch bolt was a joke
How about some spoken explainations, image ainsi enough
Don't remove front arms, just unbolt em, much easier.
Dude you need a torque tool.
It doesn't matter if its cross threaded or torqued to spec... Tight is tight ☠️
Needs to use grease for the next owner or for future repairs
Not very clear 😕
Good job helpfull video thks
1. Use a torque wrench!!!!! 2. You cannot tighten the UCAs like that, it needs to be under a load or they will wear prematurely 3. Have a dislike
I was watching this video to get all the torque specs, looking at your comment, it's fair to say that none were provided lol
Needs to be under a load.....?
@@suedereed7630 The suspension needs to be at ride height. You compress the suspension with a jack under the lower ball joint to where it would be with the car on the ground then tighten to spec. But when you see a guy using ratchets as hammers, you know this all important step was not performed.
@@TwentytenS4B8 I see that it makes sense. Thanks for the knowledge Ill be doing this task next week
We’ve all used ratchet hammers before don’t lie
