Since last year, it's officially illegal to stalk in Taiwan. At first, the stalker only got warning from the police, but eventually got arrested for not being cooperative.
Only since last year??? It’s crazy if that’s true, being stalked is terrifying

@@mar-nyan Stalking isn't illegal at all in most countries.Which is even more terrifying.
@@Knowledgesquad1 I don't think people realize how often stalkers get off with warnings. Most of the time police won't do anything until the stalker actually does something violent, at least where I live.
@@mar-nyan Stalking is sadly not illegal, or at least is not treated as it should be by the police in most countries. Most of the time, police will tell you they can't do anything if he didn't try to do anything to you, or they will give the stalker a warning for harassment.
It's crazy, and this inaction from police is what resulted in many deaths and rapes.

@@RazzBeri1 idk if it’s clever to walk past the person stalking you
If he got aggressive with the cops, imagine what he would've done if he'd approached her. Definitely the kind of person to go apeshit if they feel shut down

@@violethighley5978 bro he would've been in for a surprise having to walk that much

For sure. It's scary being a woman, a famous woman... alone. Who knows what that stalker wanted to do, completely unacceptable behavior. Police did a great job here
She took it well? It looked like she was dense about the whole thing not paying attention half the time until chat spotted him and made her check her back every now and then. It's great that she ended up safe with a happy ending, but most of the time these cases don't end up all bright and happy. I don't understand how you can do something like this with no sense of awareness. Chat:"Oh did he get up from the bench" Her "uhhh idk".. at what point do you start blaming the person being stalked for not taking action or finding safety. I get things should not be this way anywhere in the world, but the reality is things are. These people are live streaming their locations.. it doesn't take much for someone to drop by and doesn't matter how many thousands of people are watching, if someone is covered up enough she could have been easily kidnapped.
@@butlike8988 how could you possibly blame her? She's got thousands of viewers for one, looking at chat while streaming is a whole ass job. For two, with that in mind, how could you blame her by continuing her journey? Do not blame Jinny here. I don't even watch her but it's hard to juggle chat and streaming at the same time. She might not have noticed otherwise. I thank chat for looking out for her.

Could've been searching local streamers to stalk.
When my mom was young she was nearly killed by a stalker that followed her for a long time like this. He eventually jumped her and started to strangle her. She only got away because she stopped struggling after a bit and pretended to be unconscious and when the guy let go she took off and out ran him. It's good that the road was busy but still you never know when someone like this will actually end up being dangerous and no number of people watching on twitch is gonna matter if the guy is crazy enough to not care. Jinny probably should have called the police because you don't know if they're just a weirdo that doesn't realize how creepy they're being or if they're actually dangerous and it's not worth the risk. Really glad it worked out alright though and that she's ok.

I'm so glad chat kept checking in and wanted to keep her safe. Stalkers are so terrifying, it's nice that people are being more empathetic about it. So scary to watch this, I can't even begin to imagine experiencing it. I'm so glad she's okay and that he was arrested.

Yeah after an hour and a half of following it's probably safe to say he crossed well into creepy territory and is definitely a person you'd want to avoid. Social awkwardness excuse doesn't extend that long
It's possible to have been in the same area after an hour and a half of walking if they both kept walking during that time. The unbelievable part is that he's still in the same area after her sitting down to talk to chat for an random amount of time and him still being around, her stopping to due to tech issues and him stopping when she does and starting back up when she leaves, and STILL being in the same area nearby after 4 hours.
@@DarkAoiishi Sure, but covering himself up that much in that kinda weather? It gives incredibly bad vibes. I wouldn't feel sorry at all if he got arrested and weren't a stalker. If he isn't a stalker he is a god damn walking fashion crime.

Is this a pro tip from a stalker or from a past victim of a stalker
@@raiyuiscool it SHOULD be common sense.
Jinny definitely needs to be practicing safety things like not walking towards the stalker. You never know what someone might have on hand and if they will stop once or continue this behaviour. I'm glad the news guys are filming the stalker.
when she was walking from that inclined path where he had been I was legit expecting him to jump out and try to grab her. this guy wasn't just watching her, dudes don't follow you for 4 hours planning to have nothing to show for it.
i dont watch her but i expect she will have planned out the route beforehand as she probably wont know each area very well, so deviating from the path and getting lost somewhere unfamiliar while being followed is an even worse situation.
I've had the same feelings once. I was shopping and kept telling myself that the guy wasn't following me. Because what if he was getting some of the same stuff.

@@fatlizard_ I think they meant smaller precautions like crossing the street first instead of walking on the same side of the road as the stalker, not changing her entire route.
but in the clip they're referring to (4:56), it looks like there's not much space on the other side of the road to walk safely (there's also a car parked there which I might not want to walk right next to), so I don't blame her for choosing not to cross.

Although this was 3 months ago, I also feel like the station that interviewed her could have also called the police from that point too since it immediately gives them a scoop on their arrest and hospitalization, since they were there at the location at the time.
Also if they're the ones that called it in, that could give the police time to surveil the stalker to find the right timing to confront and arrest them. I noticed at the part where the police caught them, it seems like she did take a different route off the road they were following her on. Though I wonder if the police was following them both and she just turned off the main road at that moment and caught that little snippet. I guess since they (stalker) did become aggressive with the police she couldn't really stop and give a statement and probably walked on on the road to the right (viewer's right/her left as everything we watch is in a sense mirrored).

violent crime is very rare in taiwan. from a recent poll, taiwan is ranked third in the world for the number, 83.3%, of people who feel no danger in walking alone at night.

She probably felt at least a little bit protected by the fact she was livestreaming since so many people were watching and could send her help immediately if he tried anything. @aMiFiii We might have different definitions of immediately because as something is happening is about as immediate as you can get in my brain.
She was doing a really good job of keeping him in frame so chat would've been able to see him getting ready to attack her before he actually reached her. She's also reasonably athletic and was paying close attention to him so she probably thought she could outrun him/fight him off for at least a few minutes to buy time for help to reach her on top of that which could've also made her more confident

I have been a victim of stalking and I always say this; be sure not to refer to the person stalking you as "my stalker." instead, say "a stalker" or "a person stalking me" because calling them your stalker makes them feel like you have validated their delusion that they have a right to do so. that being said, regardless how the perpetrator views it, in no way is it the victims fault in any stalking scenario. these are my tips from experience, not ways it could have been prevented. no tactic is ever surefire but everything is worth a shot at safety. it's important to spread awareness on ways to possibly de-escalate the situation and increase chances of safety. remove titles, spread word, alert authorities, and share your experiences.
Valid criticism but I also think taking the power away from the stalker is fundamental in making them stop/think twice. The mental game I understand but I would of personally asked any kind passerby's to insure safety. Safety in numbers, cause it the possibility that the stalker was tuned into the stream feeding him information isn't something I'd be surprised by. She was streaming for a long period of time, I am so stunned she even had the nerve to walk pass by that man. As much as it is nice that the internet isn't a completely awful place and it can be used for good I dont think having someone on camera would of been enough if his face is completely covered in broad daylight.
@@mirror2922 you're not wrong, I wasn't speaking on this specific scenario. in any case, it's important to keep them from feeling important
To be fair she def doesn't seem like a native speaker and I doubt the stalker was either

@@SpiritualDemo It's not a bad thing to give pointers that could potentially keep someone out of danger. If somebody does something they didn't realize was dangerous and got hurt by a sicko, educating people on why you shouldn't do that thing isn't victim blaming, it's victim prevention.

thank you for bringing this up
nah if I was in her shoes, walking alone on a street next to what looked like a beachside, I would be freaking the fuck out and would be ecstatic he was arrested. her being completely calm and brave about it and then saying "he's gonna get the help he needs" is insanely inspiring. it definitely takes the soul of a super strong individual to walk anywhere far alone, especially an entire country. Hopefully, she makes it soon!!!
i hope so too! and hopefully one day everyone can live in an environment much safer to walk around in :)
We consider it strong because she lived and wasn't harmed. If she actually was attacked, then we'd have called her incredibly stupid, which goes to show that it's not so much bravery more than bravado honestly, I don't think she truly understood just how bad it could have gotten, seeing how she chose to walk by the dude purposefully. That had to have been one of the stupidest things ever to do in that situation. She should have called authorities much sooner.
idk how this blows peoples minds.....
@@KingPinguofDingu I find your comment incredibly strange, maybe we just run in such completely different circles in terms of what media etc we consume, but the type of comments I would fully expect to hear, if she were hypothetically attacked, the narrative wouldn't shift to victim blaming as you said, but calling her a "hero" and "survivor" for.. well, surviving such a traumatizing event or experience.
Just to clarify, I'm not outright calling you wrong. I'm sure there are people who would say that. People and their responses range the entire spectrum, but I'm just saying, that in my own personal experience, those are the comments I most often see or that stand out to me, and your experience seems to differ. Interesting, albeit weird, I guess. Kinda.
@@KingPinguofDingu I also agree it doesn't feel like the best idea to walk directly by the dude.. I mean, cmon, at least cross the street. That's literally like a common saying for a reason. But yeah, fuck dude. It's always, always better to be safe than sorry. I don't want to pretend to assume too much, but just how casual and calm she was to do something like that, gives me the impression that she's never experienced being assaulted or ever made to feel you've had your sense of safety ripped away from you. Speaking from someone who's grown up and always lived in a really bad area, you just don't take these kind of risks.
And at least in my experience, I believe I even heard Mike Tyson say something very similar in an interview about his childhood.. That, being jumped, at least has the possibility, it may not happen to everyone but certainly did to me, that it takes this sense of safety and security you once previously had, and you can never truly, fully get it back. It only takes a moment for you to realize just how vulnerable you as a human, and all human beings are, and how quickly someone can make you feel powerless and defenseless, if not take your life away, it only takes an instant. And that shit can be and is deeply scarring.
I haven't been in a fist fight since roughly half my life ago, something like 14yrs? and I STILL look over my shoulder every several feet, constantly vigilant and taking in my surroundings, always noting where exits are in stores and buildings. Idk, I guess I wouldn't exactly wish it on anyone, but to see someone so careless and not cautious in the slightest, I don't really entirely know how to feel. Almost a slight envy that her reality is one I could never go back to, but should at least be tweaked for the sake of her safety.
4-5 hours being stalked wtf. Jinny sees some weirdos. She's a tough gal a lot of people would freak out.
she is an amazing woman glad she is safe if anyone can find the link to that video I would like to watch that video. since I would like to look into something that maybe others have caught about.
That cat has on point timing.
Bro had to be trolling playing that song sitting on the beach
Love how both Ludwig and Charlie's cats have been jumpscaring them LOL
Props to Ludwig for setting goals to better his health!!

I've been in the same situation as well! There was a girl in a hoodie following me for at least 2 hours till i reach my friend's house. I made sure to run at the last corner while talking to my friend in order to open the door quick before she sees where he is living
Twitch Chat saved her life no cap
She should've immediately called the police once the pattern of stalking was established by the chat. She's lucky he didn't actually decide to do something terrible to her during the stream because really insane stalkers don't care about cameras watching them.
they might not care, but the police would at least be able to have a lead to what happened to her if something did ever happen
@@PunkRatSoda and if she was killed, at least the police would have a lead on him right? great logic
@@TurtleTofu Yes? Would you rather she didn't record and he got away scot free?
@@PunkRatSoda No one is saying that. The comment is saying the police should have been notified once they realised he was stalking her. Recording it wouldn't have protected her if he did decide to do something, the police could have stopped him before anything happened.
Exactly my point, people are saying she handled this really well, but in my opinion she didn't notify authorities soon enough. He had ample time to actually do something to her before she actually told the police about this. She's lucky he didn't do anything sooner. And the fact that she walked by him? She's super stupid. She's either confident in her abilities to fight back if something does go down (which is a mistake on her part, unless she's a professionally trained combatant, which doesn't seem to be the case at all, and even in such a case, most practices will teach you to just avoid such situations altogether), or she's just highly ignorant on the possibilities.
So glad Jinny's safe and the waddlethon is paying off. Its great seeing the majority of people come together for a good cause, and to call out the delusionals when they see them
That guy is the reaper himself
The end of these videos when he waves feels like the ending of a jazz song when the instruments just go wild and do whatever for like a minute before the song ends
At this point I wish Jinny would hire some security for herself. I'm sure it's a hassle in itself and not the most fun thing. But she already had to deal with so many weird and bad situations that it would be better.
She got scammed on the street, really weird fans interactions, people trying to steal her stuff, now this.. it's starting to be a lot and it is worrying
Not just trying, in Chile someone on a motorcycle snatched her phone and sped away.
@@toms7219 Ah, don't worry, that's just a normal day in South America, ain't got nothing to do with her
Or have a male friend join her on these trips. I'm not a streamer and there's some places I just wont go alone, period. Sucks this is the world we live in but we've got to look out for ourselves.
@@shinjite06 I always find it crazy how people just expect women to NOT do completely normal things like Walk Down The Street Alone Like An ADULT or else she'll be harmed, because misogynistic hate crimes are SO PREVALENT that we don't even call them "hate crimes"
@@jadecoolness101 THANK YOU its so upsetting that we have to have a male companion so that nobody will harm us -_- misogyny sucks
I can't imagine American police taking a situation like this seriously, props to them
true
they mindset is literally: shoot anyone who looks dark
The country doesn't matter. The fact of the matter is that the police can't really do anything about a person allegedly stalking someone on public roads unless they make some form of contact with the victim. After all, an isolated stalking incident is damn near impossible to prove. In this case, I'm sure the Taiwanese police were only able to do anything because of the guy's demeanor and how he acted around them, which gave them justification to arrest him. Otherwise, they probably would've just told him to leave her alone and wait till she called again if he continued. It's unfortunate how that works, but from a legal standpoint, stalking usually requires more than someone just being in the same area as the victim for a prolonged period of time, even if it's obvious what they were doing.
@@insidiouslol2682 That is American speaking, in my and I bet many more countries you can call police on a guy that is masked and tailing you for an hour and a half. The police may not be able to arrest the guy right away, but they sure could give him a warning and watch him for a while, and if he tries to continue, then they can arrest him. That is enough in my book.
They'd be like, he didn't do anything so we can't do anything. This is coming from an American.
1:19 when he said a guy showed up, the cat was instantly like "I gotta listen on this" 😂
When he went into the bushes, I thought he was gonna charge at her when she walked past
We must not forget that while Twitch chat is usually a collective hivemind of some of the most deranged people on this planet, they are still smart and perceptive enough to be a danger detector when they notice something off in the stream. Never underestimate how much they care about their streamer.
Twitch chat is unadultered, unfiltered human nature
I would NOT have handled it that well, props to her holy shit😅
this is the perfect plot for a found footage horror movie
"he got aggressive" 🤣🤣 " he went to hospital", yup that what heppend! 🤣
Well that sucks that she had to deal with that, but at least it's a happy ending with no worries about him coming back and the hope that he will get the help he needs.
What surprise me more than anything is that the one that called the police managed to state so well and expose his concern for the girl that the police actually attended instead of dismissing it as a weird online stuff (although I don't know how the Taiwanese police handles themselves, maybe they are good and know these cases could end badly)
Taiwanese police take things a lot more seriously than American police. America's police are often terrible at their jobs (though there are good ones).
"Because she's walking around the WHOLE DAMN BITCH!"
Made me laugh
Someone hired a private investigator
I always love it when a bunch of random strangers like Twitch Chat come together to do something great or wholesome like this, since the stigma is usually "chat rooms are bad".
She did such a good job at remaining calm and just continuing her day
Zack Morris with a web cam, a microphone, enjoying the sound of his own voice.
love the cat and your vids keep it up man
Wow I haven't heard about this chick in a LONG time, glad chat was actually helpful in this
I watch her streams or clips sometimes just for the entertainment and she's had many close encounters lately. her phones been stolen while streaming several times the past year alone right out of her hands. I don't understand why she still travels alone, she's crazy and i worry something really bad will happen eventually. I mean for a single attractive women to basically be broadcasting where she is all the time while traveling alone is asking for trouble. I hate that we live in a world where in this day and age bad shit happens but it does.
@aMiFiii i stopped watching her streams for the same reason. They're so stressful to watch.
@aMiFiii Shes good at staying calm, but makes questionable choices. She knew the guy stalked her for hours but still walked towards him to go past him. I wonder why she didnt turn around and go back to the cafe or somewhere.
@aMiFiii "her level of irresponsibility" nice job blaming someone for wanting to walk 👍
@@idontknowwhattoputhere371 Do you look left and right before crossing a road when the lights are green for you? Maybe sometimes you don't, but if I had a child, I'd tell it that whenever they cross the road, they should look if a car is oncoming. And if they didn't, I'd shout at them for being careless. Would I be "victim blaming"?
Taking precautions is smart. Just because by law, you aren't doing anything wrong, doesn't mean that you aren't endangering yourself. If someone falls down the cliff because they stumble on the edge, while they could be walking further away from it - is it smart? If I say, they are dumb for doing that - is that "victim blaming"?
Maybe we ought to victim blame people a lot more.
At first I thought "okay maybe he's just headed the same way" but then after the cafe break it became serious.
If it was Ludwig in that position Ludwigs chat would be like "Your long lost dads behind you"
playing ‘every breath you take’ whilst walking past someone you know is stalking you is crazy badass
The pure irony of him playing “Every Breath You Take” (which has the lyrics “every step you take I’ll be watching you”) whilst watching her walk
Dunno if he was playing it or if it was playing on her phone like the California song earlier
He wasn't playing it you moron she was 😂😂 because it was all a joke to her
She was playing it because of the situation.
Well the song's about the stalker's pov after all🙊
It's such a good feeling knowing there's so many great people out there willing to lookout for others that put alot of their life on film for our curiosity/entertainment. You're amazing.
