I've been type 1 for 28 years. I also have had the argument with my endo on my a1c which is 4.9 - 5.2 that' it's to low. I feel amazing with a clear mind. I recently went from low carb to keto/carnivore and switched to CGM and insulin pump. The combination of technology and precision is perfect. I refuse to use a looped system and control it myself. I use .10 - .25 units 2-3 hours post meal and my average reading is 94. My sugar almost never goes over 120.
You are doing great work Dr Abs. Thank you for pure honestly and sharing what you know, what others know from their experience and treating us as intelligent beings. The fact that doctors dismiss actual patient experience and their knowledge of themselves is really disappointing.
I am a type 2 diabetic and carbs are a huge reason for my sugar to go high I have conversations with my endocrinologist about carbs And she is go by the book diabetes range of carbs. I don’t agree with. But agree with Ryan and what he is doing. It’s proven by the numbers we see
@@Dr_Abs When that happens, I drop the call and re-establish the connection. I usually get a better connection on the second go and it's much less of a distraction then not being able to hear half the words (IMHO).
Ugh, I eat practically zero carbs, sugar, and processed food and I’m still pre diabetic. I eat a high protein diet and my cholesterol is over 200. I weigh 100lbs and I’m very slim. ☹️ I can’t figure out what’s wrong.
I don't think it's a problem. Total cholesterol and LDL are quite meaningless markers. They are not meaningless for pharmaceutical companies, because it's their money machine, selling statines. If you want to learn more, check out Ivor Cummins, Dr Ken Berry, Dr. Paul Mason, to mention a few. Hugh triglycerides and low HDL are indications of metabolic disease.
I've heard people in the low carb/ keto/ carnivore communities try to puzzle out situations like yours. Some say it may take time to reverse long term insulin resistance. Others think it may be wonky circadian rhythms. So making sure you get good sleep, have exposure to natural daytime light, get sunlight on your skin, avoid light pollution at night. Also, avoid chronic stress. Others think it might be overlapping conditions, eg. Insulin resistance plus mold exposure.
@@qweety123 That's exactly what I was going to suggest! Our fat averse culture skews peoples perception of their fat consumption when it actually takes more like 2 to 1, fat to protein. Eating chunks of butter is the easy (and delicious :) way to up the fat ratio...
PS Screw the cholesterol numbers. The "reference ranges" are predicated on a cross section of our unhealthy population and not tablets brought down from the mountain :)
Abs, it feels like your faced changed, face appear more masculin, will in be the diet change that increased your testosterone. Or maybe just a halo effect. I don't know can you guys perceived it ?
This was great. This scientist talks about a 73% reduced glucose spike for the exact same meal. ua-cam.com/video/HEEUrIQ_3O4/v-deo.html The ORDER in which one consumes foods is also important, as discussed in this video. Raw veg, protein & fat, and lastly carbs of all types.

Dr. Abs, nice video I loved it
🙏🙏
You should redo this interview. The guys sound is badly choppy. This could really be helpful for me IF i could hear what he is saying
Download the video and use ai to enhance the audio or replace his audio
You lost some audio after the intro snip later on in the video. It came back after a cut though. Around 10min mark
Yeah internet wasn't ideal unfortunately
