We have thousands of acres of Strawberries just down the road from us. The pickers are in the fields. Just waiting for the roadside stands to open. Love fresh from the field Strawberries. Yummy.

I made this yesterday using a sugar free cake mix and sugar free jello. It was a hit!! Even my husband liked it....he is not too keen on sugar free foods.

For my topping, I use strawberry pie filling mixed with 1/2 of strawberry icing.
Hi Catherine this looks so good. Found a lovely homestead lady on y tube with home prep'd cake mix using my own ingreds and it's excellent and I just keep it in an airtight jar in the pantry and weigh out the same amount as in a box of mix. I add vanilla sugar to it. Thank you Catherine for all you lovely recipes, I will try this one too.👍💝🙂🇬🇧

It feeds the crowd and costs so little. Plus, it's delicious! I hope young moms are discovering your channel and discovering these great classic recipes. When my Grandpa was in ICU in bad shape after he was doing better and did not need thickened water and could eat, he could eat what ever he wanted, I made him strawberry poke cake cup cakes. He loved sweets. It's so simple but so big on yummy! I make poke cakes a lot for family get together too! I have used lemon cake with strawberry or raspberry jello.
