Hi, Catherine! I haven’t had a Twinkie in 50 years, but my daughter and I made this yesterday because the strawberries here in Austin area have been amazing. Well, this was nothing short of amazing! Thank you so much.
Oh man, I had to chuckle while watching this.... I grew up with twinkies! Even though a twinkie is loaded with all sorts of "bad" goodness, sometimes you just have to ignore that and dive in to a tasty dessert like this! 😄👍
My dad made a different version of this over 20 yrs ago with pudding instead of the cream cheese and the sweetened condensed milk. He cut the twinkies in half length wise and had two layers of them, pudding, cool whip, fruit..and no pie filling. Little lighter and less sugar. It was extremely rich so i bet yours is shockingly gooey rich.😋 its good with strawberries and bananas like a cross between banana pudding and strawberry short cake. He has been gone 19yrs in nov...was nice to see this and brought memories.🙂

I'd like to check out the pumpkin recipe. I use Twinkies for pound cake and have strawberry shortcake.....add whipped topping optional. People think I am nuts for doing this. I love the chocodiles ( the chocolate dipped) .

OMG.... I made this for a BBQ yesterday. I switched it up a bit and instead of strawberry pie filling I used fresh blueberries as it was a 4th of July BBQ. My friends said it was addictive!!! I took some home and it is even better today!!!! I will definitely be making this again and I may switch up the fruits, maybe try raspberries or peaches?!!

I so enjoyed making this dessert! I never laughed and giggled so hard when preparing a dessert as it was hilarious to unwrap and plunk down twinkies in a pan and not having to fuss with mixing and baking up a cake. As I was shopping for the ingredients at Winco to make this, I was disappointed by the employee in produce that the store didn't get any fresh strawberries on their morning delivery, so I had to use another can of strawberries to complete this delicious dessert. It turned out just great and the best part was that I didn't have to clean and cut stems out of the strawberries lol. Thanks so much for sharing yet another award winning dessert. I ❤ your channel and I appreciate the delicious creative dishes that your prepare that are so easy and fun to make!

Sound like a delicious recipe I would do everything except the canned strawberries. Too much corn syrup, but I would definitely use more fresh strawberries. I like your version as well, with the pudding/ cool whip layers, along with the berries, layered with the Twinkie , makes for a more cohesive result
If you don't want to use Twinkies, you can use Angel food cake for a less sweet/ processed tasting dessert.

I've done something similar with Twinkies, ( or broken up angel food cake) crushed-up Butterfinger candy bars, vanilla pudding, and Cool Whip.😍
