How to Sort Clone indexes using Voronoi Fracture or Splines

- In this Cinema 4D MoGraph tutorial, I will show you how to sort the IDs of Clones, using the Voronoi Fracture Generator, and using a Spline object, or Spline MoGraph setup.
Every Clone has an ID number, also known as "index" that allows you to access specific clones using the Formula, Step and Sound Effectors.
This "index" is mainly defined by the Cloner that generates the clones, but can be changed under some conditions, using the methods I show in the Video.

Thank you! What powerful techniques. I will use them a ton. I always feel so empowered after watching your tutorials.
rotating them via the transform tab went as smooth as possible.
What a funny way to gain access to this fine control. Thanks Noseman!
Aaah! if only you were my Math professor, I'dve been a rocket scientist :)
You are the professional
I feel like I jumped the moon on this tut. Thanks man.
Thank you very much for this very useful information!
GREAT TUTORIAL
highly useful. thanks a lot!
Thank you very much, you're the best!!
Athanasios Pozantzis how can i clone some splines on to other clones by index. been crashing my head on it....
This was super helpful! Is there any way to select individual Indexes in one formula? I saw the range work, but I have a case where I would like to select numbers that are not in any particular pattern

@@noseman Thank you! I ended up figuring out how to do through a lot more exploring! Thanks again for being a catalyst for this!
You can select "every other" in the Formula effector with the formula "id&1;"
thank you
Thank you!
woo thanks :) its work wit octan Color Shader :)))
Can you sort cloners only once? I'm searching in voronoi frac solutions but I can't find it. The problem is when you use a source of a cloner as skinned mesh, the voronoi is updating our sorting with every frame (giving a nice result), but it severely slowly everything making work impossible :(:(
I forgot to mention - 'render instance' or 'multi-instance' modes are not working with voronoi fract :(
can you give me an example of what you're trying to achieve please?
great
Why do you change the Transform Color from white to 50% grey?
because the default white irritates me...
well hello back :) is it possible instead change just the color to give it a other material?
Yes, by using the "MultiShader" from the MoGraph shaders. Add different materials in that list, and they will be applied depending on the Grey value of each clone. Search for "MoGraph Multishader" to find appropriate tutorials.
@@noseman thanks, is there also a quicker way with redshift? I guess it must be somewhere in the rs color user data?
now I see the RS MultiShader, thanks again :D
@@markusg3588 Yes. Userdata will give you access to the Greyscale value or Clone color. Then you may need to use a Switch node but you also need to remap the 0-1 mograph color to the Switch range.
@@noseman unfortunately did not work out. Must probably deal more with the redshift node system. 👍
why do you sound like hans zimmer? is it you, hans?
