Thank you for giving so much value and teaching the proper ways of treating Orchids.
My friend gave me a Dendrobium this year in April 2018 that had flowers on it and after they fell off and died all I was doing was watering it and kept it in the window for some sun light and hoping for something to happen.
Just before I discovered your channel I was going to replant the orchid and dump more dirt on it until I discovered your channel!! Luckily I did NOT replant my orchid and I left it alone until I learned about watering it and the type of medium it really needs to survive and grow. Thank God I came here!
Now, I can happily say that I have a happy orchid and 2 new canes already popping up on the bottom and new roots too and this has been since April!
I can't wait to see new flowers bloom!! I am grateful and very thankful I came across your channel thank you SO very much!!

I love this idea! It gives me hope, because I've collected quite a few orchids now and a some of those are set back. It's nice to see the process.

Oh! Denphals are some of the most resellient orchids . I wonder why the most growers do not grow them or most sellers dont sell them . Currently i have 12 Denphals and the most prized is the Black cat butachong with 18 buds on a really long stem !!!!! Just like the banana chocolate .It is a really good hybrid you should look out for it coz it is near black-red !

Hi Dani. I bought a Den Phal Sa-Nook last Oct. -it was reduced and slightly run down. Its flower looks just like your splash. I potted it in semi-hydro and it's now doing fine, but here's the odd thing: not only is it producing a new growth, it is also making two keikis AND it is flowering for a second time on the same cane it flowered on last year! I couldn't believe it had produced another flower spike on the old cane, right next to the old flower spike!

Paul Saunders .Denphals can bloom upto 3 times from the same cane.

Den phals for me are the easiest and hardest to kill orchids they just adapt and even if you accidentally cut the cane you can still get a keiki out of it

Jo Danny, i also have a couble of Dendrobium Phallaenopsis, mine have made more than 1 cane, and 1 og them have 2 bloomspikes on the cane that bloomed last year. So maybe that is normal 😀

I bought one of these guys on clearance at Walmart in Miami, Fl. Had to come here to find out #1 what I was buying; #2 how to care for it...so now when I go to the stores that have gardens I looke for any orchids that can be rescued.

What would be the best option if hydrophonics and spagnum are not available? Will coconut husks, charcoal and pumice be suitable?

Arata excelent... cred k imi voi muta si eu treptat colectia in varianta asta...
Am cateva... asa ca proba si arata bine...chiar f bine...1singura problema...😐trebuie udate mai des decat la2sapt cum faceam..
App. 😣
Nu am asa mult timp... am job , familie ..
Ai vreo sugestie cum sa reusesc o udare mai rara? In Germania in apartament nu e f cald si e o umiditate buna50 60%... nu inteleg de ce se usca asa repede..
    Ce parere ai?

Like that you are using semi-hydro with these dendrobiums. Do you think they would like large lava rock? My phal-type dendrobiums are growing outdoors in net baskets and a bark medium. They grow very large here in s. FL USA. I like to make large baskets with multiple plants. I might switch them to large lava rock next year. We'll see.

Hi Dani: Nice video, I'm a begginner and have dendrobiums with lots of keikis so I guess they'll be slower producing flowers? And also hve 3 vandas, 2 are getting great roots but one has roots but No leaves! Do you think she'll survive? Hoping. From Puerto Rico. Tks.

great vid Danni! i was thinking i'd love to know how you clean vanda roots that have algae on them ? i was trying to look at your videos for algae issues , but i noticed you didn't have a video on that , mainly i was looking for cleaning it from the roots but your video's were mainly about algae on pots and ways to prevent it. i'd be so interested to know more about that! i heard it has something to do with how they water vanda's in nurseries the combination of sunlight and spraying them, maybe you know why they get algae? i just got a vanda with that and to get it off i used the end of a flat screw driver and soaking the roots in h2o , but would like to know if there is a solution you can spray on it to get it off the tissue? thanks so much! xoxoL.

know it's off topic but I was just wondering if it was absolutely necessary for nobile types to have a winter rest? I don't really need flowers that much so would leaving them with a regular watering regimen stress them out?

Hi Dani! Thanks for another great video. I see you have a lot of nice roots on these, too. I have a few orchids/dens that have a lot of the thin spindly roots escaping in every direction. I have one that has so many roots, they are climbing up the leaves. Is this normal and ok?

Hi! Thanks for the video :) I had never owned an orchid until now, so I have a lot to learn. Do you think if I post a photo you could help me identify mine? I am not really sure which kind it is, as the tag on it only says dendrobium :/

My Venus slipper I recently got is starting to die on me? I keep other orchids but this was my first one like this. It’s flowering but the flower is wolfing and the leaves are turning yellow and brown. Should I repot it so I can check what’s going on. Because I feel like it’s being under watered since I was told to water it every 12 days

Cut old cane off at the base and lay-out on an old cake rack over a tray in a bright humid place and those canes shall through keikis from them.
