Just wanted to say hi! Your knowledge has grown so much! And yes, I have been checking in on your videos from time to time. I think of you and my other friends who I will never be able to meet as kindred spirits. Be well, dear.

It is so nice one grower when one sees that they were able to change the way an orchid is looking, appearing and not growing but to one's eye one would say ding. I am so happy for you. You have done an amazing job with your orchids. I have learned a lot from you and still. Have a wonderful day.

Thank you so much for this update Dani. Always reassuring to know that setbacks are not necessarily disastrous but opportunities to learn (as I can testify) I may be dipping into your catalogue on a regular basis from here on. Best wishes

I fell in love with a Gongora Armeniaca in an orchid nursery on Maui. Bought it and had it shipped back. Killed it within a few months. Now I'm learning a bit about orchids so maybe one day I could try another Gongora Armeniaca.

Hi Paula from Mexico. I have fairly new a Gongora galena. I planted it in live moss. It was doing good. Got new growths and it bloomed. Well it got Aphids & two other plants. I sprayed them down with water soap & alcohol. Gave it a shower afterwards. Well it lost all it’s leaves and new growths. Now I am hoping it will survive. The other two plant (Epidendrum Cocheletum) are doing fine.

There was one orchid I was wondering about is your Ctsm. Orchid that got too cold. Did anything happen to them after you cut away the bad parts?
I just purchased my first Ctsm.

Question - with any remaining orchids of yours with fulsarium*(idk how to spell it), do you keep all of those infected on the same shelf to avoid cross contamination? Or is it something that would only be spread by sharing water or something?

Excellent job on rescuing the Dendrobium Blue Happiness, what a recovery👍🏼. I think I have the same but not the same label and it is a good bloomer.
The Cattleya Hawaiian Splash Lea is now blooming in an entirely different color too, how can this happen?

Danny, great evolution in some and..
If you're really into new denphals then why not try the newer "DenCatts"?? There have bigger fluffier flowers and almost look like cattleyas.
A good recommendation that i have personally would be Dendrobium Anucha Flare 'Pink' it has gorgeous structure and colours with the crystalline texture, and plants are really compact growing and the flowers last a long time
Only downside is that max you get only around 7 flowers and the spikes are thin and the most major is that for some reason, regardless of weather and culture, the plant skips blooming in growths... So it sort of alternates between new growths for blooming.. while the other denphals bloom 3-5 times for me, this blooms only 1-2 times per year. But it's totally worth it!
And a fragrant denphal would be Den Black Cat 'Butachong' it smells mildly of jasmines to me.

Danny. I was gonna say something about the virus but was too political for an orchid channel 😬. You always have that magic touch for your babies. Have a phal with a keiki but rootless. The parent has withered and had to cut off keiki for emergency services. Hope can to get the little baby going but odds are very low.

Hey Danny! I haven’t had the courage to branch out from phalaenopsis yet, I’m only in my first year of orchids. But in reference to the Cattlea Hawaiian splash Lea, I am just wondering if orchids have a life expectancy? Logic states with plants, with proper care they could live indefinitely, as long as they grow like orchids do. But I’ve had other “self seeding” flowers that kind of fizzle out after a few years. Mostly just a thought, and probably an uneducated one. But curious on your take, if you have time to respond. Otherwise, love you lots, and I’m grateful for you!

This vid gives me hope that my sad ass looking phalaenopsis (3 of them) have a glimmer of hope for the future (pictures available upon request).

Is it advisable to leave infected leaves on the Bellina? She is one of my favorites. Thanks.

I have the Hsiang Yu as well. Mine is adapting to semi-hydro, so I hope I get blooms on the next growth. Let us know if it's fragrant!
