great idea of using the ikea slats, less weight, good air flow. I have sourced plastic 'slat end' off ebay. our ikea also sells a slat base with slat end fitted.

Hi Sydney! Your grandmother, Dawn, is my first cousin, and she and James told me about your channel!
I have watched all you have posted now, and you are doing a great job of building and editing.
It's been a while since your latest video, have you got some more in the can?
Did you finish your build? 😎

Dang, I was just about to build my bed by bolting lengthwise 2x4 boards to the wall using Rivnuts, and now you have me rethinking everything! I really love this idea, and those supports are so cheap. I really appreciate the fact you include your oops moments. Too many people like to show only their successes, but there is often more to be learned form oops moments that success moments. So two questions:
    1) How do you like it one year later? Anything you wish you had done differently?
    and
    2) What did you tell the ikea people to get those brackets? Did you get a part number by any chance?

HI.....are you taking suggestions? I would recommend getting a cordless impact wrench that is same brand and battery size as you drill ()DeWalt. BTW you can take off and install wheel lug nuts with the power so watch out for over torquing. Run the bold down snug and us a hand wrench to tighten.

For now, I used heavy duty ALFA-LOK fasteners by Velcro. I ordered some from Amazon. It’s pretty strong, but still easy to remove when I want to work on the van!

Hi! I actually got mine from a used dealership in Texas. I did finance it. But I sold my car and I don’t have an apartment so this is my “rent”. I looked for months before I finally found one that I was happy with so I totally get it! I decided to go through a dealership just so I would have peace of mind that it had been recently serviced/maintained at the time of purchase and in good shape.
