Nicely done. If the plastic is ABS - & you have another piece of ABS (an old broken part). Grind it into powder then mix in some Acetone until the ABS has become a paste, you can use this to bond your broken parts together.
I use the ABS cement for plumbing to fix my Kawasaki ABS fairing, quite a few repairs. I also use some fiberglass mesh for additional reinforcement. I will combine some of what you have share in my next repair as well.
You guys are good, each of you providing a bit more to help repair plastics. I'll look at my stuff different as I get ready to dispose of it. You know a lot of the plastic parts are expensive.
The repair turned out very well. For a smooth surface, you can use a hot air dryer. Heat carefully and the surface will smooth and shine again. This way you can also remove the other scratches.

I have done this but used aluminum window screen instead of paperclip. Both work great. It's more difficult when one needs to match a color other than black. Nice video. 👍👍
I saw another UA-cam video where simple office staples from a desk stapler were used to strenthen the joint instead of paper clips and I can confirm it also works really well.

I had to do a similar repair and had graphite on hand. Your pencil saved a trip to the store. I used steel wool instead of metal pins which I did not think of.
Yes, done it for years, I also use the spare material after here do the V. If you use the "pencil" you can also break it with a hamme, if the crack is bigger...
You can also use a good quality black shoe polish to buff up black polymer and plastic parts after this type of repair. It adds a decent shine, adds a waxy coating with a small amount of pigment and helps to further camouflage where a repair has been made. Obviously there are also many proprietary automotive polishing products to do this, but if you don't already have them and you do have boot polish....! 😊

or new or used replacement parts are no longer available.
Always save something from landfill if u can, plus like u said it's the satisfaction.

ナルホド、自分はホッチキスの針を補強に使用しますが紙止めクリップを使うのも良いですね。
瞬間接着剤と重曹の組み合わせはよく用いられる難接着物の定番ですが鉛筆の芯を使うのも良いと思いました、鉛筆の芯の材質は黒鉛と粘土を使用してますからよくよく考えたらパテ代わりに使えますからね。
マフラーカバーのボルトは熱固着しやすいので高温耐熱性の焼き付き防止剤を塗布しておくと次整備する際に楽なのでお薦めです。

nice, I've found that melting a zip-tie with a small torch will stick to most automotive plastics and can then be sanded.
