    Excellent video! This was the first and only video I found that showed in detail how to remove the pump assembly. This is always a concern for first-timers (like me) who are worried about breaking a delicate plastic part, so this was a huge enabler that finally allowed me to go ahead and replace the drain pump motor. Thank-you!

    Super helpful to see you take the pump off and for the warning about breaking off the tabs. Saved me time and $.

    That was a handy tip about squeezing the hose to the back of the filter to get out any other objects. After I pulled off the drain/filter I put my Rigid shop-vac on it and pulled out a scouring sponge along with a lot of other crap. I wouldn't have done that if it weren't for you showing that, maybe everyone should make sure the hoses themselves aren't partially blocked with crap and put the shop-vac on it for a few seconds to see what else comes out.

    Thank you for making this video. 10pm on a Sunday was not the best time to get this error code. Your video gave me the courage to fix it. Everything was exactly as shown in your video. I ended up using a wrench to loosen the filter.

    Thank you for the video. It was like finding the answer to the missing socks. First check around the drum for socks, prior to getting into opening the machine up... There is more than a cup of water ... my washer is on top of drawers...I found if you wrap a garbage bag around the drain put it in a bucket prior to opening the drain, save a flood. Also “milk” that black tube coming from the bottom of the drum... may find that other sock!!! Warning the pump maybe HOT! Finger test it before you go in with a full turn! Women you can do this.. I did 😁

    Yes the impeller has a half a turn to play on it but once you rotate past the half turn that’s the magnets on the motor is called cogging catches in then releases and catch and release I believe it’s called cogging. All in all good video I like the way you get the pump released from the housing just break the damn tab off of it cause it doesn’t matter if you were replacing it

    Hey can anyone help I had the problem so I cleaned the filter had like 2 coins that’s it so I cleaned that out and thought I fixed it because the pump kicked on pretty strong sounded normal but when I did a test run the drain pump would kick on but sounded lower and weaker than normal and it wasn’t draining at all so I started squeezing the black soft plastic hose that connects to the filter and drain pump as I squeezed I could see the water in the hose go up and down and I figured there was nothing clogged up since the water was moving freely could it be the pump or something else any ideas? Thanks

    I agree with the side to side movement, mine would spin but wouldn't drain and had side to side movement. I've replaced the pump on my obsolete washing machine and it worked 🤣 zanussi Wdj1285b .. washing machines probably older than me

    Thanks for the trouble shooter video, I don't have a grinding noise and the trap is clean, I did have a dirty trap about a year ago, so I know what that was like. The pump action does move from side to side so I will replace the pump, hopefully that will be all.

    Little item to put in your tool kit when dealing with anything that will drip, leak or make a liquid mess: Dog Piddle Pads. The gel kind. They are the best replacement for towels.

      Fast Eddie's Appliance Repair I just pulled the little screen out and I put down the piddle pad first. I scooted it partway under the washer. It caught any water that didn’t make it into the container. I just rolled it up when I was done. I started using them when I would drain my portable air conditioner. You couldn’t get a pan under it. One piddle pad took on nearly a quart of water.
      BTW, just cleaning the screen did the trick. That was all it needed, but when I need to replace the pump I will be able to after watching your video. The washer came with my condo. It wasn’t cared for. I found hair pins, earrings, lint, money, gunk, and where that nasty smell was consuming from. Thank you for your help.

    Thank you sir! The follow on question is meant as all to think and shake heads about. Why in the world are we buying washers that have to have pumps to drain? Takes the water up and over and adds to the bill to run it. Gravity should handle this all nicely. Why the extra power, bill, parts and failure point built in that adds to the cost? A drop drain...

    Great video. I've got the same washing machine and it's not draining well. it takes an extra drain and spin to get the clothes dry enough for the dryer. I pull the plug often nothing's being caught. The pump does not make a bad noise. Any idea?

    • @Fasteddiesinhomerepair
      @Fasteddiesinhomerepair  4 роки тому +1

      Something could be caught up higher in the drain tract Maybe you have a spin issue not drain issue maybe the pump is already bad bad meaning the impeller is not even turning I don't know what are the stuff without seeing it personally is impossible for me to tell you

    I have tried pulling this pump by twisting it forward and it is not budging. I guess I am not strong enough lol. It just makes no sense it was working fine 1 minute then the next load I did had some bigger blankets and it threw an F-21 code and I was also seeing the Sd. I drained all the water out then ran a load with nothing in it and it completed that one but as soon as I did a regular cycle it was back to F-21. I guess its the pump because there is nothing in the hose connected to filter. I am going to try the shop vac method but I think this pump has to be bad. It makes the loud noises that are in this video.

    • @Fasteddiesinhomerepair
      @Fasteddiesinhomerepair  Рік тому

      that seal and the threads on the filter can bind you can use a pair of pliers opened wide (not closed or garbing) a crossed the filter handle for more leverage and the pump maybe mounted by screws

      @Fasteddiesinhomerepair  4 роки тому

      It says you've done the same thing. Did you replace the pump or what all did you do is the same thing because I would say that you might have some sort of walking somewhere you can have something locked up further up the drain tract or the drain hose itself maybe even where the drain hose connects at the wall a lot of the stuff is hard to say without seeing it

      Put the machine into diagnostic mode via the control panel. The technician sheet that describes this procedure is usually located inside the machine behind that front panel in a plastic bag attached to the right interior sidewall.

    Fast Eddie Have a 2004 Duet. Gave the FH code .Push the 3 second cancel button. The time started flashing. Try a restart. Unplug from wall. Let set for a while. Plug back in . No change. Drum fails to turn makes a grinding noise. 3 second button will not do anything to reset. Change the water inlet valve. Because time from time water would be in the bottom of the drumb..What Yah think?
