I’m back again. We are on pump replacement #2 for this machine. Pretty sure my hb used your video 4 years ago when he replaced the pump the 1st time. We've loved our Bosch washer and dryer for 15 years and 4 moves. My only complaint is that it didn’t have a spin only setting. I was heart broken to find out last year that Bosch no longer makes washers & dryers. It strengthens my resolve to keep our current ones running as long as we possibly can. We’ve happily purchased many other Bosch appliances. Thanks for still being here with this repair video. Who knew we’d need it again?

    Thanks for the video.....
    For general knowledge....
On my Bosch Nexxt 300 series WFMC2201UC, the specifications from the repair manual are as follows.
    Measure resistance all parts disconnected.
    Heater 13.7 - 15.2 ohms
    NTC 22.8 - 27.4 kilo ohms @68 degrees F.
Water inlet valves 2.7 - 4.5 kilo ohms.
    Drain pump 140 - 200 ohms.
Also, E13 can be a pain to fix.....Usually is the pump, but also too much detergent being used can throw that code too.
One often overlooked repair is to remove both drain hoses and thoroughly clean them out. They may be restricting drainage flow from pump. (One hose comes from pump to back of washer from inside machine. The other is the drain hose from the back of machine on the outside.) These hose can get clogged with all sort of crap and build up.
    OK....still with me?
Steps for a happy Bosch washer.
    Clean drain hoses or replace.
    Descale heater element.
Clean water inlet valves. Try a little spray of auto brake cleaner spray into front and back of valves......Obviously wipe excess and run some empty wash cycles. Mine cleared out some stuff. Check to make sure screens are clear too.
Check water supply hoses for good water pressure. (disconnect and see how water flows into bucket. Should be a pretty strong flow.
Clean pump trap....or replace pump if needed.
I hope this helps some people with their repairs.

This approach worked like a charm to replace the pump/motor on our Bosch washer that is a different model than this one. Like others, getting the top hose off was tough, but after that - everything else was very straight forward. This was HUGE help and saved me $$$ on a service call. Thanks again!!

Thank you so much for this video!! We followed your instructions and found 2 dimes and a ton of rubber pieces from the artificial turf but honestly not enough to stop the pump. We closed it back up and tested It and It still wasn’t working. I said let’s check again for the hell of It and lo and behold there were two WHITE rubber bands stuck in the middle that you could easily miss. We cut the rubber bands off and she’s good as new!! Can’t thank you enough because we would have had a tough time paying someone to have done that. We will pay your kindness forward!!

Thanks for the video. I was able to swap the pump out with minimal drama after seeing the video. I think it took longer to drain the water than replace the pump. I used a shop vac to suck up the water as it came out. I replaced the whole unit not just the pump section. I used an OEM Bosch part (OEM Part #00436440) and I was happy to see that they have added a small drain tube with a plug. Now instead of making a huge water mess you can easily drain it with a small 3/8 hose the have added then remove the coin trap plug. Anyway I appreciate seeing how you did it, I've sure I could have done it eventually but the video made it a ton easier. Bosch Nexxt 500 series washer ~peaty

Thank you for doing this. I would not have thought the pump could possibly fit though that hole. This was much easier than having to take off the front or the back (I have a Bosch Nexxt WMFC3301UC/06). I made one minor change, which was to put the pump back in the way it came out. Other than that, I followed your instructions. The hardest part was getting the top tube off (getting it on was easy). To remove the hose clamp, I used some smaller pliers with two positions (I think they're called slip joint pliers), and this worked well.

This is an excellent video with great tips on how to manage the round trip to install new drain pump. I am amazed you did this all through the small front access hatch.
I was going to try to go through the back. I now have new pump in hand and getting ready to attempt this with your guidance.

    • @chrisg7891
      @chrisg7891 5 років тому

Worked out pretty well and faster than I thought, about an hour labor once the access panels removed and water drained.
The outlet hose was the toughest part. Came off more easily by removing the whole pump first through front access then it twisted off fairly easily.
Putting outlet hose in new pump there was a lot of friction to seat it but got it in by twisting and pushing. The replacement pump from appliancepartpros.com looks a little different so not an OEM part but it works.
Set the pump down and pushed into slots from back was easier.
Tested without load then load, no more E13 - I am happy and wife even happier!

I love your plastic bag funnel ....so ingenious. My husband and I changed the drain pump and motor brushes, but still had a leak from the hose from the tub to the pump. Very hard to find metric o rings at the hardware store. Going to try Harbor Freight.

If, upon inspection, you find that your drain pump is not locked up, moves freely, THEN... This is what fixed my E13 Error Code. Two screws remove the top panel; You will notice that the drain hose from the pump, loops up to the top of the cabinet. At That Loop is an AIR VENT attached. My vent hole was clogged with gunk.. Just pop off the tube, and clean it our with a toothpick, or small screw driver. Easiest fix ever. Note: if for any reason you remove the hose bracket, there is an O-ring where the bracket meets the tube, just don't lose it.

Hi Eddie - great video - I struggled with the drain hose attached to the top of the pump - I did as you said - clockwise + pull up - hose came out clean (would have probably destroyed it if you hadn't so clearly demonstrated the action required) - tx so much for taking the time to do this video.... you have probably saved me from buying a new washer....

Check out my Bosch drain pump video; done by cutting a door in the lower side of the machine next to the pump and with that it takes about 5 minutes to change out the pump. Not the pretty way to do it but makes next time the pump quits, a snap to replace. No lifting of the washer and all the gym work getting down to the floor. good luck Other repairs to this machine include cutting the console to replace a stripped dial handle shaft of plastic for a filed metal screw that just pop into place. Another $330 savings. When the water starts to smell you could have a bad pump or just need to run a cup of bleach through the machine and see the crap come out of the exhaust water hose.
The Kenmore pump is the same for low $$$$ although it is a different color plastic. Last Bosch machine for me folks

  • @davemetz7368
    @davemetz7368 Рік тому

THERE IS A EASIER WAY-------PAY ATTENTION TO THIS !! I got my angle grinder & put a cutting wheel on. Next, on the bottom "right side" of the washer ( not the front where the hole is) cut an opening...like a door, so you can swing it towards the rear of washer. The opening was approx. 4 inches X 8 inches, then bend it back, so when you're done removing & replacing pump, you can just " unbend it " , put a little duck tape over the cuts and the job is complete. I have used the same procedure when replacing the fuel pump from a gas tank on my Ford Ranger. Most people remove the entire pickup bed from truck. I cut a 6" X 6" square ( only 3 sides though ) peel it back and remove fuel pump. Much easier.

Hello, I have a Bosch washer (model WAS24460UC/28) which was plugged directly to the back of the Bosch dryer. The dryer broke and I have to get a Kenmore dryer. I just moved in this house and both washer&dryer are already there.
My question is since the dryer doesn't work, I can't get the plug from the washer to plug into the wall unit because of its unusual shape. I tried to find the converter so I can simply plug it to the wall (I assume it's 120 volt washer).
    Can you please help? Thanks.

Bosch compact washers are 220v and that's why they plug into the dryer. No plug will fix that. They sell cord kits and you will need another 220v outlet, or just get a Kenmore washer... Hope you got it!

Google isn't findingany information on that series unfortunately and there is no error code only ''Pump Blocked?" displayed (I've checked the drainage pump and there were some coins in there.. but I cannot check to see if the impeller is turning or if the drainage pump motor has burnt out. Well it only one one of 4 things 1 your pressure hose may be clogged if the water is being pumped out 2 if the water is not being pumped out it could be to much or rong soap making the pump go into suds lock 3 pump clogged or something has locked it up 4 a bad pump on that model I think that it just says what's rong no need to check for codes and that unit may have the drain and spin option

After thoroughly cleaning ours (thank you for this awesome video, BTW!!!), it worked while dry, but seized up again with water in it - it seems that once the debris in the pump has ground down the magnet and/or the bearings inside, it doesn't function properly anymore and will need to be replaced. I now wonder if there are motors that flush their own housing while they pump, rather than slowly filling themselves with debris, that would make them last way longer.

I disagree! (even though our pump failed). This machine has worked great for us for 10 years. The pump failed because we live on the ocean and the housing filled up with fine sand from our clothes, which ground down the interior of the pump over time. Similarly, the inlet valves got clogged up with sediment in the tap water. Now that these parts have been replaced, and seeing that the rest of the machine is pristine inside, I expect it to last another 10 years! Overall, we've been extremely happy with this Bosch appliance!
