Thanks! Jackson and I rode out the storm in the bunker. The devastation to this area is incredible! House has a tree on it, no power for probably quite some time, cell service is spotty. It’s like nothing we’ve ever seen before! I’ve been filming for y’all but having trouble even uploading a short due to phone service. We’re running part of the house on a generator now. Got water lines fixed around midnight last night, so at least we finally got a shower and were able to flush toilets. Good thing is that we’re all ok! This cleanup will last for months. Thanks everyone for checking on us, it means a lot!
@@TheRealMrDiGG Great to hear you and Jackson are safe and got water and some electricity. I'd seen news reports and thought you might be close to Helene's path, sounds like you were closer than I thought. The repairs and cleanup will be fixed in time, take good care in the meantime.
Ever since the hurricane, I have enjoyed following your channel from Canada. You are in a very interesting business, and I’ve learned a lot from you,and of course, Aaron. As I write this, the hurricane has already come and gone leaving a lot of destruction, much sadness, and financial worries for many families. My prayers are being sent your way.
Ryan, do not, I repeat, do not let all the second guessers around here add to your stress. You must be quite a tough guy to handle what you do as well as you do. Hats off!!
You are human, and it's to be in a bad or frumpy mood. Truly hope that y'all are and were safe during the hurricane. Thank you for taking the time to film for us all. Hope you have a better rest of the day.
You will be surprised how many metals and minerals are in landfills. My best guess is that those mountains will be our future mining sites for normal but also rare minerals and metals.😊
Ryan, it's always an interesting time spent with you! So, you had a bad day, this video has come out of sequence, and you know things just got a lot worse, nut you can handle it! Thanks for the explanations and love your interactions with the drivers. I bet they look forward to coming to this dump, as they might have a conversation with you. Thanks from UK.
We don’t have as much going on as you do but I can relate 100% to your frustrations! Really enjoy your content and best wishes for you and your people!
Like your videos , the operational process is amazing to watch , never seen actual dump operations you explain the reason behind the process that is one big operation you have there , the cement to crushed rock and trees to mulch operations all great to watch thanks for your videos
Good to see you Mr Digg Everyone should get to run a compactor for a day 👍 Glad you got the machine sorted but it makes you wonder how good it is for the environment with all the faulty sensors that go to landfill to get the system for protecting the environment back up and running 🤔
Yep great video bro, from what I have seen on the TV news anything in the path of that hurricane is destined for the landfill sadly and what's worse is there has been loss of life too. Safe travels. Ken.
I'm watching from Galway also on the west coast of Ireland. We get a lot of rain here, hence the Emerald bit, but we don't get severe weather like this at all. I'm thinking of you all. You're going through so much! ❤
A winner like you won’t ever be a duck, that killer instinct will bite you from time to time in the tune and the seat but you’ve proven to be a master of all aspects of racing, no one is in morning over a couple bs racing incidents when their boy just won war in the woods, as always thanks for sharing
I would love a video explaining how this all started and what it is today. I'm new to the channel and would love to hear the history of all the businesses
I started following ur channel about a year ago and it got me interested in landfill work now i work at the waste eliminator landfill in Ga. Wouldnt have it no other way. Keep the videos coming
When covid hit and I lost my job I was dumpster diving and then doing flea markets on the weekend selling the stuff. I was also hopping in the big dumpsters pulling out scrap metal cleaning it up and taking it to the scrap yard and that's how I made a living for almost 2 years.
"Not the only one having complications". Thanks for that, I'm going to remember that one. We should start writing down these little jewels, call them pearls from Mr. Diggs. . . . Thanks for the video.😄👍
Man with the environment that you work in I would have a fire extinguisher in every piece of equipment and every truck on the property. The company that I retired from has extinguishers in all of their mobile equipment and in all of their buildings and you would not believe how many times in 40 years I had to use one, you can’t have to many fire extinguishers trust me!
Ryan, you certainly have a lot on your plate. Tough to find good help? Man you have so much mechanical equipment on site, amazing y'all keep it all running.
I work on Nautique boats and they have fire extinguishers inside the engine compartment that has a sprinkler looking nozzle on the and they will automatically go off if it needs to and it will shut the boat off, im not sure what the equipment has but it could be something to look into for a piece of mind kinda thing. Love the videos and good luck to yall
I repair equipment at a C&D recycler in VA. They’re close to a city, so No space for your kind of operation. They take the same waste but sort across a pick line, grind, shred, and bale as needed. Only a small amount of byproduct goes to landfill. They run rotochopper products as well. If I can get them to the field day, I’d love to hook you guys up.
In your respond to one of comment, you said the storm was bad....glad that you ,Jackson are safe. Too bad about the tree hitting the house, it can be fixed lives cannot be replaced. Hope you get your electricity back soon. Was praying for you all after the last video, about the shut down....btw how's Dad, A-Ron and the rest of the team....the nursery, etc?.? You probably make a video later.
Glad to see you comment that you are OK. Natural disasters suck. I bet youre glad you had that insurance on your shredder bc it's prob swamped. I feel for you. If i lived closer id be there helping do whatever. Brace yourself for this week bc it's gonna be nasty with the body recoveries. Were your landfills impacted? Did it wash everything away?
Another great video Ryan! You mentioned your on site fuel consumption is very high. Is it possible to get some footage of your onsite refueling operations? Thanks!
Good morning Ryan, I’m Shawn hayman from Nova Scotia Canada. Been following your channel for a while now, great content. Was thinking about your dust issue in the shredder, a good back pack blower may help keep it cleaned out.
Just seems like the brilliant minds that figured out how to turn oil and natural gas into tires and plastics could figure out reversing the process to make new stuff out of the waste stream.
You need a day on the water with your son some cold beers and a fishing pole. Hope you guys faired ok from the storm I see Tennessee got it hard. Just means you need a second shredder bigger one that would work great at the landfill all those golf carts. You probably could’ve shredded down to fit in a 5 yard dumpster.
Here in the UK just been to our recycling site to dump rubbish 81% is recycled rest is burnt for electric. None to land fill just amazed all that cardboard and wood you landfill
Love the channel. Love how y'all did the slide. I used to roof house's and we would take the trash to the landfill. We would try to make around the same time as the Toys R us truck would and we would get so much free stuff. Just wanted to let you know 😅
@TheRealMrDiGG how's your jungle doing? I love it so much I wish you would do some content in there. My father in-law he had a bunch of birds like you. He had a pet store. But I think ppl may like it 😉.

I work for Berkeley county landfill in Moncks Corner sc I’m a roll off driver but I have been on an 836 and 826 cat packer if u ever get an opportunity to operate one it is a serious stress relief lol😂
Those who never been responsible for signing the fronts of checks do not usually realize that good operators put the companies ahead of all and know if the company does not survive their families will suffer. Owners have already paid in advance for the good days and rarely make any decision that is not in the best interest of the company reggardless of their personal wants.
I’ll bet that if you let people in to go through that garbage, I’m sure they will find things that they can definitely use. You can charge people by the pound of what they pick out. You will make money for the landfill and you’ll make more room in the landfill. Option 2: Set up a covered area and stock it with good stuff that you pull from the dump. Put set prices on everything and people will have a low priced construction store filled with miscellaneous goods.
I used to go to the dump quite often to get rid of construction debris. Everyday when I would get there, there was a truck that sprayed old used engine oil on the dirt to keep the dust down. Today, if you spill oil at the dump, the government makes you clean it up. Hahaha. You might be too young but I’m sure your dad would remember seeing that in a regular dump. Now I see why New Jersey is so polluted. Haha
It's a shame that all those brand new Poise pads (adult diapers as you called them) went to waste. I work with people who have disabilities and the diapers that most of them get suck so it is nice when families can get pads like those to make the diapers hold more, but unfortunately most of them don't get pads like those. They also aren't cheap to buy. Any social service agency that works with people who have disabilities, or any high school special ed teacher who has students that aren't toilet trained would love to have those if you ever get more like that.
Hope y'all faired ok from the hurricane, I'm in Western Maryland, it rained all day yesterday an all last night, hell it looks like it could rain right now at 8am, I miss the sun lol, clouds clouds clouds, thanks for sharing bud, and I look forward to seeing the next video 🇺🇲✊🤙👍💪 #T2024

Those fire extinguishers are only good for about 6 months. Another youtuber lost an excavator due to fire. His extinguisher was still considered "good" but had lost the pressure. I bought a 7.3 the same time my buddy bought a 6.0, the 6.0 has had a 2nd rebuild and a delete. My 7.3 has just been getting oil changes, rode hard and put away wet.

Is there a video as to how the landfill is supposed to end the day and start the day?
there is time to pull the wood out, you just don't want to. the cost could be minimal but you just want to keep the profits high

Leaf blower to get the bust out the red machine

How about a smaller excavator to run around and pick out recyclables more efficiently ?
I was thinking about you all down when i see the damage with the storm glade to you are ok but i will say i thing you will be busy at the land fill after seeing that damage
Some days are good and some days aren't
I would run that compactor for free at least twice, looks relacking
🙂
Seeing the dippers reminds me of a joke but I think some people would not like it here so I'll not tell it. Oh well.
that wood load should have gone to green go so it could have been gone to compost
To bad you don’t have a 836G CAT Compactor. 🇺🇸

Not with that much fibreboard.
It's really a shame you can't sort through everything arriving; so much of that can be recycled. Quite a lot of that can be recycled economically, too.
